Nice demo! I didn't realize it was the octave fuzz and not just the octave that was adjustable via the expression pedal. That is really awesome. Also, I'm not blaming your demo for my buying this pedal...this time, I bought it first, then watched your demo.

I can’t wait for mine to come. I went through a rigamarole with musicians friend confirming my order last week, taking the initial money out, putting it back , and then saying EQD cancelled it. I got one that a guy already received and only tested on Reverb for a bit more money, but not a crazy amount. I missed out on the first one, and the prices on it now are absolutely nuts. Love your Squire J Mascis JM. I just added one to my guitar collection last month, and it’s absolutely incredible for 450. I play it as much as my new American Pro Tele, and my 50th anniversary Strat. I think I’m gonna test this pedal first, with my vintage DiMarzio loaded 1999 SG through my new ‘68 Deluxe Reverb tube, and have a blast. I cannot wait to mess with it on it’s own , then see what pedals out of my collection will sound cool chained to it. Awesome vid!

I saw the band Sunn O))) last year in the City which i live near. I never intended to see the band really because i came for the support act Anna von Hausswolff. Nevertheless, was completley blown away and it was quite the religious experience.
I would really love to get one of those, but it sounds like EQD is doing a limited run of them, so they're probably gonna be hella expensive. Plus, I already have their previous doomy offering: the Acapulco Gold. Run a distortion or an octave fuzz through that, and you're well on your way to sounding like Sunn.
How do you guys think this would sound with bass? I don't know a whole lot about pedals but i love the sound of this, and I'm looking for a new fuzz/distortion/OD pedal for my garage rock band. Currently I'm using a bass big muff pi but am looking to upgrade. Thanks!

I really liked the fender post rock tones. This pedal is really versatile. I would recommend rolling back the mids and highs to get that doom sound though

Great demo, the pedal sounds increadible! For the high-gain sounds, it had me wondering what kind of amp would match it best in a live / band context. It guess you'd need a lot of headroom to stop the amp from choking up and collapsing on itself + dissappearing in the mix?
So I have 57 classic pups and I run a Keeley fuzz bender (which I love) but I was kinda after a boost, rat and octave pedal at some stage. Then this eqd pedal appeared! Would this help me get those uncle acid tones as far as boosting fuzz and octaves for leads? (Obviously it dooms to all Fuk but I mean at e standard and lower gain settings). 🙌🎸
Reminds me, at least in functionality, of the original (not the micro version) Pigtronix Disnortion pedal. Individual controls for octave, overdrive and fuzz and instead of clipping options it has six or so different filters you can apply to the fuzz. Which is better, Disnortion or EQD Life? Who cares, get 'em both!!
Your influence is corrupting me, my friend ❤ They would be more like distant cousins. The ESP isn't mine. Just one I borrowed from a friend, for this single demo purpose. Just felt it fit the pedal perfectly. What has happened though, is that I finally found a humbucker equipped guitar that I like. That ESP guitar plays beautifully and sounds immense. I kinda want one now 😂

No similarities at all. Plumes is a low to medium gain pedal inspired by the Tubescreamer. Life Pedal is a high-gain octave distortion inspired by a whiteface RAT and the Shin-ei fuzz. They couldn’t be further apart sonically 😊
You should really put an album out. Mix this doomy stuff with your normal ambient stuff.

Exactly! The physical and repetitive nature of their music just elevates it to a whole new musical level. Like a dark moment of zen.

Some bass players might argue that it could work even better for bass because it will help you cut through the mix so much.

Thanks! Yeah, headroom is important, but it doesn't have to be clean headroom. Sunn O))) use dirty Sunn Beta amps, for instance.

Reminds me, at least in functionality, of the original (not the micro version) Pigtronix Disnortion pedal. Individual controls for octave, overdrive and fuzz and instead of clipping options it has six or so different filters you can apply to the fuzz. Which is better, Disnortion or EQD Life? Who cares, get 'em both!!

Your influence is corrupting me, my friend ❤ They would be more like distant cousins. The ESP isn't mine. Just one I borrowed from a friend, for this single demo purpose. Just felt it fit the pedal perfectly. What has happened though, is that I finally found a humbucker equipped guitar that I like. That ESP guitar plays beautifully and sounds immense. I kinda want one now 😂

No similarities at all. Plumes is a low to medium gain pedal inspired by the Tubescreamer. Life Pedal is a high-gain octave distortion inspired by a whiteface RAT and the Shin-ei fuzz. They couldn’t be further apart sonically 😊
