The guy with the conch blowing is not Bookman, it's the unknown maroon. Haiti was not helped by Jamaicans in the independence wars. Jamaica was not independent at that time and was under the British governor, Maitland. It's only Bookman, who was a slave from Jamaica. He moved with his master to Haiti. The other guy who was born in another island was Henry Christophe, from Grenada. He would later become Kinge Henry 1 and build the Citadelle, the 365-door palace, and Palais Sans Soucis, which was built for the queen.

Boukman was born in Senegambia, not Jamaica. and he participated in the Bois cayiman ceremony, not the revolution, cause boukman was killed in 1791, two days after the ceremony, and two weeks before the revolution continuity. he got to Haiti at the age 12, and raised by Cecile Fatima. Google the man who started it, Google the black messiah makandal, click on pbs youtube

Bookman is who inspired the fight for freedom in Haiti... Slaves already had multiple rebellions in Jamaica long before Haiti ever tried it, Jamaica also had free slaves long before Haiti ever did, they are called Maroons. So whether you like it or not, some of these ideas were brought to Haiti by Bookman, and played a major part in those wars... because he was able to inspire them by pointing to the many rebellions that were already executed in Jamaica 🇯🇲

@@ysycotik Respect to our Jamaicans. But, the first slave rebellion in Haiti happened around the 1520's. The first slaves to be brought to the Americas were brought to Haiti in 1502. Bookman was not the first. There was Makandal and others before him. But, to all our ancestors who rebelled, whether in Jamaica or other places where they were kept in chains, we are proud of all of them. Thanks for commenting.
