      @@effu2 Close, but nah. Truth is Ra was a child of LL. He improved on LLs groundbreaking flows elevated them.

    I think you should have started with Eric B and Rakim's first album in 1987 Paid in Full. The two songs you needed to start with were Check Out My Melody and Eric B for President. I had a brotherinlaw living up in Minneapolis, MN at that time and he brought me a tape recording of Check Out My Melody. Blew. My. Mind!!!!! At that time I was an aspiring rapper so I certainly was impressed. Those are the ones that need to be reacted to!!!

    That style or technique you're hearing is actually one used by a lot of emcees of the times where one line ends and the next one starts with the same word. They pause to accent the technique.

    No it’s not a freestyle, Ra told Ice T in a interview that
    He wanted it like this, people don’t know but Rakim said Eric was the DJ but he did his own production.
    He’s not a talk he’s a Mc so at the time he thought it wasn’t important. But he wanted it to be one continuous flow. Then the point would be made and also no one was doing it, He said this isn’t a song this is lyricism.

    you should review the songs "my melody", "eric b for president" which is the song of songs, "mahogany", In the ghetto, know the ledge, what's on your mind (classic love rap song), follow the leader.

    Probably not a freestyle, just the archaic building blocks of hip hop, mid 80s style. The funniest shyt is, we really thought this shyt was HOARD back in the day 😂🤣

      No, I beg to differ. She'll pick up and appreciate the wordplay and skill more with the lyrics... also, videos sometimes leave out vital material. Case in point, "The Symphony" (Marley Marl) video leaves out critical lines from Kool G Rap and Big Daddy Kane that these reactors are not even aware of...

  • @JIMMYRAYVS

    Sounds like a freestyle but not really it probably was written before put to the beat... Cause throughout time the definition of freestyle was mislead to believe it's "off the top", yet that style is a type of freestyle not the true definition of "freestyle". Freestyle typically means what it is, "free of style", so it may have topic but usually doesn't or not set to any other pattern or spit to other than what it was made for. So yes freestyles are written as well, younger generation came up with disrespecting written for advantage in battles so gave freestyle a whole another definition.

    As a hip hop OOG I would disagree with Rakim being the Homo Erectus. That actually belongs to PUBLIC ENEMY!! "IT TAKES A NATION OF MILLIONS TO HOLD US BACK" is the album. That album is dangerous and deadly!!! Facts and truth is where that music erupts from the ground up. WORD!! But also, young lady you are laying your foundation wrong. You should have started with Africa Bambaataa (Planet Rock), WHODINI (5 Minutes of Funk, Friends, The Freaks Come Out at Night) UTFO (ROXANNE, ROXANNE), KRS-ONE & BOOGIE DOWN PRODUCTIONS, LL COOL J, RUN DMC, FAT BOYS (MW), ICE T (WEST COAST), TOO SHORT(WC), NWA(WC). These are the ones that laid the thick concrete on the ground in the '80s and '90s!!!!!! Just ask for the greatest songs and they will be given. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

    • @Nova_Corps
      @Nova_Corps 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Well "OOG" there were two eras of Hip-Hop, before and after Rakim. That statement was made by both DMC and Chuck D of PE himself who's on record as saying his song "Public Enemy #1" was outdated once Rakim came out and Rakim made him change his flow. Not to mention both Nas and Eminem named Rakim as one of their greatest influences. So I'd rather take it from the mouths of these icons.
