One thing I never see anyone mention about the original 2011 Mobirates is the faster audio. All the team names are at a slightly faster speed, where the Legend and Bandai Asia version don't do that. It's why the voice gets so much higher-pitched on the original.
It seems as if the Bandai Asia version has a similar soundboard as the Legend Mobirates. I guess this could be a good and bad thing? All depending on the which you prefer I guess. Great video Bruno! And I LOVE the display!!!

This is the Mobirates that I had mentioned that I picked up a year ago at Boston Comic Con. I don't know if you remember my story, but I was a bit surprised when I got home and tested it and discovered that it didn't have the original codes. In the meantime though, I did get the original Japanese Mobirates. So now we have 3 versions. Thanks for sharing.
John Penza I think I do remember you telling me about that. At that time I'd never seen another version in person. Now I see what they did. Still perfectly good, but sellers need to make sure they're letting buyers know what version they're getting and how it's different.
I have the Bandai Asia Version as well. Probably will find a Japanese Version in the future. Very happy to finally see your ranger key display and get some ideas on how to do my shelf as well.
They might have lowered the volume to protect kids ears. I heard when Toqger's Rokugo changer was released, they intentionally made the volume lower when in phone mode, because kids might play the sounds next to their ears. The mobirats is always a phone ; thus maybe the lower volume
I hope to one day have a shelf like this. Currently I just have a bunch of reds and the complete metal hero, gokaiger, and zyuranger keys. I have a long way to go but I am super determined.
creatorofevil It's always great to have complete teams, but my case with just the red helmets is pretty cool too. I've seen some pretty great small displays too. :)
The electronics from the Bandai Asia version of the Mobirates come from the Legend Mobirates. It was a second release that came with an Akared key. It had the silver and gold paints swapped, and Gobusters added but a lot of other functionality removed (seriously, they took out the code for launching the GokaiGalleon?). It's sadly quieter as a result of regulations regarding the volume of sounds in cell phone toys in the parts of Asia it was primarily released in. I have one, got it on ebay about a year ago for a comparable price to what BigBad's selling it for, now. I like it, but then again I never got an original. I was late to the party, but wanted something to use with the Go-Onger and Goseiger keys I picked up at a convention. It works for that, so I'm happy.
Awesome and amazing collection. Thank you for the info on the morphers. I'm looking for and didn't realized they made two releases. I guess that is the same with the blasters and saber since the sabers' tone of the sounds were different.
I believe the bandai Asia ones have the same programming as the legendary mobirates ( the gold one that can do Gobusters). That's why they don't have all the same sounds, really glad I got a used original one from mr s now :)
Long's Toys That seems to be correct. Legend sounds and lower volume are the differences. (And yes, this one can do Go-Busters, which I realized AFTER I posted the video, of course :-/ )
yeah, I have a Bandai asia gokai cellular and its so low volume I can barely hear it over the gear box of the red piece moving down when to hit the button

Take a toothpick and glaze the edge and tip with super glue, apply it to the shoulders of the sticker on your gashapon keys, press down firmly and the sticker will stay put. Just be careful. I cannot stress the point enough not to use too much super glue.
***** I guess another option would be one of the custom decal makers. I've seen them make weird decals to make keys into rangers that don't even exist, they could probably whip up a Mega/Space silver one for you. Just make sure they know it's for a Japanese key. (They might even be able to make Mega/Space ranger keys with the proper chest design, now that I think of it.)
Spindash54 It's a lot easier to tell once you own the thing. Some sellers don't know and may use a stock image, or not show the box at all. BBTS originally had it labeled as "Bandai America." Once you actually have it, it says "sound volume is not as same as Japanese version" on the box. But for people who don't know about Bandai Asia or things like that, hopefully this video is helpful. (And the blue circle tip :) )
there are 3 different types of keys in japan, the DX versions are the best ones to look for, the gashapons have the sticker for the chest, and finally theres the candy toys, they have solid chests(no chest sticker) but the black triangle between their legs is a sticker
Ssj Ichigo which is one of the pros of our keys. Every single one is fully painted, you never have to worry about stickers, and gold and silver keys are actually gold and silver, rather than grey and yellow. And US keys all flip with a spring. Cons of course being smaller if you care about show accuracy (or a plus if you want them all to fit in the chest) but the worst being incomplete teams! >:-o

Star Productions I never thought about the sitting... I guess that's true. The flipping is so much fun though, and one way the US keys are show accurate that the JP keys aren't. Now after SMF, it's so weird picking up a JP key and not being able to flip it.
Yeah, for the Bandai Asia version, they used the soundboard for the legend mobirate in it & the sound quality definitely took a giant downgrade in quality. Don't buy this version. They're inferior to the originals.
It's not the legend version, it just uses its soundboard. The legend version has different paint that make it different looking than the original & uses the wrongly romanized "mobilates" instead of "Gokaiger" on the front of it. Also, I have the legend versionn & I'll tell ya, if it still had the sound clip for Kamen Rider OOO & the code for summoning the Gokai Galleon, it would be a worthy successor to the original.
Scsigs I know about the coloration, its the sound board that defines the version, you can easily just swap out the plates and say the legends version is the original and vise sersa
Scsigs They have to soften toy sound in China, it has to do with the sensitivity of childrens ears, theyre still deveolping at the age that plays with this toy and dont want them destroying their hearing by putting the phone up to it.
Hey bruno. Just sharing but my local tru just got stocked with super megaforce stuff...and yes some gokaiger merchandise are here including all zords weapons and mobirate. However (from a reliable source) that is the same one being sold here which is the new bandai asia version. Reduced audio and the reason for it not having the same sounds qs the original is because the sound chip for that one was lost so they had to make a new one, easiest way was to take the legend mobirate version of it and change it a bit. Hope this helps
I went to a con in Texas recently and found a table where they were selling some good PR stuff. I found the Mobirates and said to the seller "How much for the Mobirates?" He didn't know it was from Japan. He thought it was a bootleg of the Legendary Morpher,so I had to talk to him about Super Sentai,and hold up the line. He also had the original 1993 Dino Megazord unopened and it was $20,I had $15. Next time Jacob. (I don't know his name,he looks like a Jacob.)

LightningZ94 You're seeing many different cameras in the videos. It's the color work I do that has people always asking. This one is a Canon SX710 HS from Best Buy. Any camera you buy these days will be good. Even some of the cheapest ones can still do full HD. Canon & Sony are usually very good. (GoPro is an awesome little camera for outside stuff and going underwater.)
The bandai Asia mobirate has the legendary mobirate sounds. The legendary mobirate is different in appearance, the blades are gold on the inside and the outside instead of gol, its silver.
Hey, to Bruno in regards to the sticker on the Silver Space Ranger key, I would highly recommend going to BD15 Decals & Props for a nicer looking sticker for the front of that key. I got mine from there and it looks really decent. If you like, I'd be happy to send you some pictures of mine so you can see what it would look like in person. I hope this helps you out a bit and can't wait to see more of Mia soon!
Gokaiger morpher and keys are so tempting however I collect DX mecha for the most part and those cost a pretty penny, especially the old ones from the 1970's and 1980's. My plan is to one day have every mecha from 1975 to the present with figuarts posing in front of each of their respected mech/robot. The problem is the cost of the mechs and the lack of full figuarts teams. I want to finish my Jetman collection but I still need Tetraboy and they only released Red Hawk and Black Condor in the figuarts. I also would like to have Sun Vulcan. They just released the full figuarts set but I don't have any of the mecha from that season yet.
Here’s hoping we get an Artisan Mobirates one day. Lol of course if they did that would they release the Ranger Keys as well? Maybe spring load them so they fold with a flick of a finger? Fully painted DX quality would be nice too.
***** As it was said, the Bandai Asia Mobirates has the color scheme of the original Bandai Japan one, but the sound card of the craptastic Legend Mobirates. And if you think the sound difference between the two Mobirates is wild...the Legendary Morpher's volume makes the Bandai Asia Mobirates look like a JOKE. Anyway, aside from the sounds that were taken away, I THINK that Bandai Asia may have remade certain Ranger keys with different keyblade cuts!! I have a DX Akaranger that WILL NOT work with my Mobirates, but, I have a Gashapon Akaranger that actually DOES work just fine; the Gashapon key has a different cut compared to the DX one. Also, I have a DX Goseired key that also doesn't work...so odds are there's a Bandai Asia version that has a different cut as well. And the craziest one of all: y'know how you get the announcer sounding kinda confused when you use the Gokaisilver key with the original Mobirates? He's all like "GOOOOOOOKAIJAA!?" and such. However, on the Bandai Asia one, it's just the normal happy "GOOOOOOOKAIJAA!!" instead...I've tried this out with both the Candy Toy & Gashapon Gokaisilver keys that I have. (I got my Mobirates and like 41 total keys in a trade, that's why I have the two Silvers and NONE of the other five, lol) I'm wondering if this is the only way to trigger the henshin sound; I've heard rumors that the Legend Mobirates actually doesn't work with the core five Gokaiger (Red/Blue/Yellow/Green/Pink)...which would mean that it likely doesn't work with the DX keys or that Bandai Asia may have redone the Gashapons so that they do work, who knows?
Be careful! The Ranger Keys a SUPER addictive! Buying one of these Mobirates from BBTS, I of course wanted a few keys. Now I suddenly have 3 sets of Red keys, the Gokai Cellular (also available at Bigbadtoystore, giving me GokaiSilver), and finally a set of the Gokaiger team (which might be metalic). I got them all at Amazon for between $10 and 15, and $30 for the Gokaiger group. Anyway - that's it I'm done! (So addictive!!!)
Tempting but I'd rather get the previous version. Just because of the "calling the zords" sounds. I was hoping you had a super secret cleaning method but it seems like mine so its all good. Might use that canned air idea though. One more thing, what did you do to your finger? I see plaster on your thumb ^_^
Bryn Darby The best thing you can do for dust is keep out sunlight and people. It certainly helps. I still haven't done any dusting on the main display wall with the Zords. That's been up for a few years now. No plaster, I cut my thumb on a plastic lid opening my Almond Butter.... ???? I'm telling most people who ask that it was a shark attack. That's way better than Almond Butter attack. :-p

For the voice and the codes it looks like the legend mobirates (the one with silver color replacing the gold) in a normal mobirates color. It's much better as it could read more ranger keys (gobuster and akaranger)
You know speaking of Ranger Keys a recent announcement has come out related to Gokaiger and the Ranger Keys and it is supposed to be called Gokaiger The Lost Ranger Key Legend and more details will come out on August 7th but the question is what could it be maybe DX Versions of every Ranger Key for the teams that did not get DX Sets or Ranger Key Sets for ToQger and Ninninger or even Ranger Keys of characters that we did not think we would see like X1 Mask or Magne Warrior
PowerSentai101 I did this. It was entirely me. I finally bought the rest of the keys I didn't have and declared Ranger Key Victory! And then the very next day came this announcement. All thanks to me, or all my fault, depending on how you want to look at it. ;) The Bandai Gods responded to my victory claim.
Maybe still it will be interesting to see what Bandai come up with in terms of what Ranger Keys they release because we are only one year away from Super Sentai's 40th anniversary and we can only guess what will be done for that season because it is that time of the year where news of the next team starts coming through

I think you got the Korean version. I got the same one a while back from eBay and it's essentially a legend mobirates inside a regular mobirates shell. The sound is lower and it doesn't have all the codes that the Japanese version does but it recognizes the Go-busters keys. I still want to get the Japanese version but it's over 100 bucks on Amazon right now 😞
How cool would it be if it had update sounds for Kyouger, ToQger, Ninninger and what ever the 40 Sentai is. And actually maybe have the Kyoryger keys work in it two.
that's alot of ranger keys, i got zyuranger + kiba ranger to gokaiger took me a while on getting the extra rangers and sixth ranger, and oddly enough the last key i needed was time yellow from timeranger and not the most expensive ones like rio or zubaan or even dekaswan, i hope bandai american will make all the other ranger keys that we are missing

Bought one! Also a bunch of Red Keys off Amazon for about $10 to $15 a set. Remember, the keys only differentiate between colors with Gokaiger Keys (not the other teams)
sadly it's a silver legend mobirate meaning you can't get the old sounds, it's all the new sounds instead which is kinda annoying since now the only reason to get the legend mobirate is because of the different colour and me being an obsessed collector, plus i reeeeally want that akared key

Dennis Bohorquez Gokaiger was 2011. It's very important to collect the toys you want when they're in stores, especially during popular seasons. Even during Gokaiger, some keys were in stock for a day and sold out immediately. Many were very hard to get. They came from many different sellers on eBay, Image Anime, CS TOYS, and I'm sure many other places as well. Some came in packs of 5. Some came with morphers, weapons, and Zords. Some came individually and some in large boxes. Some are DX, some are gashapon, some are candy toys. There are 178 keys on my display wall before you start counting 6th rangers. It took me four years to collect the keys I have, and I'm still missing two sets (and it was far from cheap). It's not an easy collection, but you can certainly start with eBay and also try Amazon.
I have that one it has the legend mobilates guts and it's quieter because of I think it was a thing in china where the toys for children can't be too loud. I like it though it has encyclopedia mode. Would have loved to have the robo sounds though :(
ok, bruno, i need your help! i got a mobirates, the audio is the same as the original, but there is no code on it to differentiate the asia and japan versions, on top of that, some of the codes that the asia version doesnt recognise, my version does. what version do i have?! even i dont know!
probably very late but, as far as I know the Bandai Asia Mobirate is quieter as to not hurt childrens ears if they decide to try and pretend is a phone. Everyone probably already knows this already so I apologise in advance.
Hey Bruno this is William I know you're doing a review of the new Super Sentai Gokaiger Morpher something and it is super Megaforce red rpm red samurai red all 3 Ranger keys instead and yes they will work in other morphers like it won't work with the American super Megaforce Morpher but they're too small if you budget and it will be gone thank you continue

This is actually the HongKong version，so that's why the sound is more quiet
The New Mobirates you have today Bruno has the Shell of the original Mobirates, but the sound chip of the Legend Mobirates.

Yeah, for the Bandai Asia version, they used the soundboard for the legend mobirate in it & the sound quality definitely took a giant downgrade in quality. Don't buy this version. They're inferior to the originals.

It's not the legend version, it just uses its soundboard. The legend version has different paint that make it different looking than the original & uses the wrongly romanized "mobilates" instead of "Gokaiger" on the front of it. Also, I have the legend versionn & I'll tell ya, if it still had the sound clip for Kamen Rider OOO & the code for summoning the Gokai Galleon, it would be a worthy successor to the original.
Scsigs I know about the coloration, its the sound board that defines the version, you can easily just swap out the plates and say the legends version is the original and vise sersa
Yeah, but there's more to different versions of something than just 1 thing.
Scsigs They have to soften toy sound in China, it has to do with the sensitivity of childrens ears, theyre still deveolping at the age that plays with this toy and dont want them destroying their hearing by putting the phone up to it.

Hey bruno. Just sharing but my local tru just got stocked with super megaforce stuff...and yes some gokaiger merchandise are here including all zords weapons and mobirate. However (from a reliable source) that is the same one being sold here which is the new bandai asia version. Reduced audio and the reason for it not having the same sounds qs the original is because the sound chip for that one was lost so they had to make a new one, easiest way was to take the legend mobirate version of it and change it a bit. Hope this helps
that and the voice is accurate to the actual show on the reissue.

I went to a con in Texas recently and found a table where they were selling some good PR stuff. I found the Mobirates and said to the seller "How much for the Mobirates?" He didn't know it was from Japan. He thought it was a bootleg of the Legendary Morpher,so I had to talk to him about Super Sentai,and hold up the line. He also had the original 1993 Dino Megazord unopened and it was $20,I had $15. Next time Jacob. (I don't know his name,he looks like a Jacob.)

May I ask what kind of camera you use Bruno?
LightningZ94 You're seeing many different cameras in the videos. It's the color work I do that has people always asking. This one is a Canon SX710 HS from Best Buy. Any camera you buy these days will be good. Even some of the cheapest ones can still do full HD. Canon & Sony are usually very good. (GoPro is an awesome little camera for outside stuff and going underwater.)
The bandai Asia mobirate has the legendary mobirate sounds. The legendary mobirate is different in appearance, the blades are gold on the inside and the outside instead of gol, its silver.

Hey, to Bruno in regards to the sticker on the Silver Space Ranger key, I would highly recommend going to BD15 Decals & Props for a nicer looking sticker for the front of that key. I got mine from there and it looks really decent. If you like, I'd be happy to send you some pictures of mine so you can see what it would look like in person. I hope this helps you out a bit and can't wait to see more of Mia soon!
I am so envious of your ranger key collection and display.
Gokaiger morpher and keys are so tempting however I collect DX mecha for the most part and those cost a pretty penny, especially the old ones from the 1970's and 1980's. My plan is to one day have every mecha from 1975 to the present with figuarts posing in front of each of their respected mech/robot. The problem is the cost of the mechs and the lack of full figuarts teams. I want to finish my Jetman collection but I still need Tetraboy and they only released Red Hawk and Black Condor in the figuarts. I also would like to have Sun Vulcan. They just released the full figuarts set but I don't have any of the mecha from that season yet.

Here’s hoping we get an Artisan Mobirates one day. Lol of course if they did that would they release the Ranger Keys as well? Maybe spring load them so they fold with a flick of a finger? Fully painted DX quality would be nice too.
***** As it was said, the Bandai Asia Mobirates has the color scheme of the original Bandai Japan one, but the sound card of the craptastic Legend Mobirates. And if you think the sound difference between the two Mobirates is wild...the Legendary Morpher's volume makes the Bandai Asia Mobirates look like a JOKE.
Anyway, aside from the sounds that were taken away, I THINK that Bandai Asia may have remade certain Ranger keys with different keyblade cuts!! I have a DX Akaranger that WILL NOT work with my Mobirates, but, I have a Gashapon Akaranger that actually DOES work just fine; the Gashapon key has a different cut compared to the DX one. Also, I have a DX Goseired key that also doesn't work...so odds are there's a Bandai Asia version that has a different cut as well. And the craziest one of all: y'know how you get the announcer sounding kinda confused when you use the Gokaisilver key with the original Mobirates? He's all like "GOOOOOOOKAIJAA!?" and such. However, on the Bandai Asia one, it's just the normal happy "GOOOOOOOKAIJAA!!" instead...I've tried this out with both the Candy Toy & Gashapon Gokaisilver keys that I have. (I got my Mobirates and like 41 total keys in a trade, that's why I have the two Silvers and NONE of the other five, lol)
I'm wondering if this is the only way to trigger the henshin sound; I've heard rumors that the Legend Mobirates actually doesn't work with the core five Gokaiger (Red/Blue/Yellow/Green/Pink)...which would mean that it likely doesn't work with the DX keys or that Bandai Asia may have redone the Gashapons so that they do work, who knows?

Be careful! The Ranger Keys a SUPER addictive! Buying one of these Mobirates from BBTS, I of course wanted a few keys. Now I suddenly have 3 sets of Red keys, the Gokai Cellular (also available at Bigbadtoystore, giving me GokaiSilver), and finally a set of the Gokaiger team (which might be metalic). I got them all at Amazon for between $10 and 15, and $30 for the Gokaiger group. Anyway - that's it I'm done! (So addictive!!!)
Tempting but I'd rather get the previous version. Just because of the "calling the zords" sounds. I was hoping you had a super secret cleaning method but it seems like mine so its all good. Might use that canned air idea though. One more thing, what did you do to your finger? I see plaster on your thumb ^_^
Bryn Darby The best thing you can do for dust is keep out sunlight and people. It certainly helps. I still haven't done any dusting on the main display wall with the Zords. That's been up for a few years now. No plaster, I cut my thumb on a plastic lid opening my Almond Butter.... ???? I'm telling most people who ask that it was a shark attack. That's way better than Almond Butter attack. :-p

For the voice and the codes it looks like the legend mobirates (the one with silver color replacing the gold) in a normal mobirates color. It's much better as it could read more ranger keys (gobuster and akaranger)

You know speaking of Ranger Keys a recent announcement has come out related to Gokaiger and the Ranger Keys and it is supposed to be called Gokaiger The Lost Ranger Key Legend and more details will come out on August 7th but the question is what could it be maybe DX Versions of every Ranger Key for the teams that did not get DX Sets or Ranger Key Sets for ToQger and Ninninger or even Ranger Keys of characters that we did not think we would see like X1 Mask or Magne Warrior
PowerSentai101 I did this. It was entirely me. I finally bought the rest of the keys I didn't have and declared Ranger Key Victory! And then the very next day came this announcement. All thanks to me, or all my fault, depending on how you want to look at it. ;) The Bandai Gods responded to my victory claim.
Maybe still it will be interesting to see what Bandai come up with in terms of what Ranger Keys they release because we are only one year away from Super Sentai's 40th anniversary and we can only guess what will be done for that season because it is that time of the year where news of the next team starts coming through

I think you got the Korean version. I got the same one a while back from eBay and it's essentially a legend mobirates inside a regular mobirates shell. The sound is lower and it doesn't have all the codes that the Japanese version does but it recognizes the Go-busters keys.
I still want to get the Japanese version but it's over 100 bucks on Amazon right now 😞
I've got this version. It's basically the Legend Mobirates in the standard colors. (and a bit quieter)
How cool would it be if it had update sounds for Kyouger, ToQger, Ninninger and what ever the 40 Sentai is. And actually maybe have the Kyoryger keys work in it two.

that's alot of ranger keys, i got zyuranger + kiba ranger to gokaiger
took me a while on getting the extra rangers and sixth ranger, and oddly enough the last key i needed was time yellow from timeranger and not the most expensive ones like rio or zubaan or even dekaswan, i hope bandai american will make all the other ranger keys that we are missing
Jeremie Fortier I believe yellow was really difficult for me to get too. I guess I had a hard *time* getting that one... hehe... and the rest you mentioned were all terribly expensive, and Signalman as well.
If the stickers are peeling off on your keys, try using a dab of glue on them.

sadly it's a silver legend mobirate meaning you can't get the old sounds, it's all the new sounds instead which is kinda annoying since now the only reason to get the legend mobirate is because of the different colour and me being an obsessed collector, plus i reeeeally want that akared key
I still find it funny how great of deals you can sometimes get I got this morpher used for around 20 bucks and only one key had damage and I also got the gun for around 20 with 10 keys

Dennis Bohorquez Gokaiger was 2011. It's very important to collect the toys you want when they're in stores, especially during popular seasons. Even during Gokaiger, some keys were in stock for a day and sold out immediately. Many were very hard to get. They came from many different sellers on eBay, Image Anime, CS TOYS, and I'm sure many other places as well. Some came in packs of 5. Some came with morphers, weapons, and Zords. Some came individually and some in large boxes. Some are DX, some are gashapon, some are candy toys. There are 178 keys on my display wall before you start counting 6th rangers. It took me four years to collect the keys I have, and I'm still missing two sets (and it was far from cheap). It's not an easy collection, but you can certainly start with eBay and also try Amazon.

I have that one it has the legend mobilates guts and it's quieter because of I think it was a thing in china where the toys for children can't be too loud. I like it though it has encyclopedia mode. Would have loved to have the robo sounds though :(
ok, bruno, i need your help! i got a mobirates, the audio is the same as the original, but there is no code on it to differentiate the asia and japan versions, on top of that, some of the codes that the asia version doesnt recognise, my version does. what version do i have?! even i dont know!

probably very late but, as far as I know the Bandai Asia Mobirate is quieter as to not hurt childrens ears if they decide to try and pretend is a phone. Everyone probably already knows this already so I apologise in advance.

Hey Bruno this is William I know you're doing a review of the new Super Sentai Gokaiger Morpher something and it is super Megaforce red rpm red samurai red all 3 Ranger keys instead and yes they will work in other morphers like it won't work with the American super Megaforce Morpher but they're too small if you budget and it will be gone thank you continue

Keith Bardoner I actually have a video coming (hopefully tomorrow) where I used those with the US chargers. The stands work great with both though.

erikholmysti That's weird. The one I have is certainly the Bandai Asia version, which is the Legend Mobirates audio, but lower. The official Legend Mobirates doesn't do the codes either. :-/
I contacted him. His definitely still says Bandai Asia - but he got his on ebay, not Bigbadtoystore. Even says on the box volume is different from Japanese version. I asked him if it does the Gobusters code or not. I'll post back if he tells me
Still confused. Emgo replied saying it's the Japanese version. But his box (in his review) says bandai Asia and mentions the volume.
Jeeeezzzz... He claims this was in the review, but it wasn't fully explained; emgo some how got one with the Bandai Asia packaging, but the Japanese Mobirates inside. Darn it - this was needlessly confusing for viewers of his review!
