And then they made an FGO omake based on Carnival Phantasm, and even she was a bit unhinged.
Basically, the fan interpretation became popular enough to convince writers to make it canon. Maybe the same might happen with Genshin.

The first half with Aether set up that the Raiden Shogun (talking to him) now has a puppet body to herself and thus is no longer in custody of Ei's sword - specifically so when she shows up in the second half in the random boss role Ei's new body, containing the sword, would be within Lumine's reach.

@@TD2T The Shogun and Ei are separate beings, Ei is in the sword but she can assert control over the Shogun since she made her/it.
I like how the work was put in to justify it by first stating that Ei had already made herself a new body (presumably with the sword in that one now) and then switching opponents so Lumine would have access to Ei's new body.
