    Love your video's and it was you and your video's that encouraged me to go out to our local Guitar Center here in Wichita, Kansas and get the SD 1250. I have had it 3 weeks and I will be unboxing it and setting it up this morning. Your video's are very informative and I love the semi- comedy you do especially your introduction and your "Here we go". I got my set on the Black Friday weekend for $849.99 marked down from $929.99 the weekend before and the regular $1099.99. Plus I got a PDP throne, a Velocity two sided (felt and hard plastic) kick pedal and a Simmons DA 2108 drum Amp and I got the 4 year warranty to go with the 2 year Simmons warranty. Keep up the great work. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!.

    Can take the 2 Toms, and split them, so the rim wouldnt work (who uses tom rims, lol) and use those two inputs for 2 more cymbals. Four Tom, Four cymbal setup. Would love to see a combined set! Great video!

    A note in case you have not come across it... you can add those Splash or Cow Bell addons you had mentioned to the rims of any of the toms. I have the 1200 expanded and have two cymbals added to the small toms with a cow and gong added to the floor tom rims. Or you could always add a drum splitters for the toms and add actual cymbals.

    • @KeithronPowell
      @KeithronPowell  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I know. What I was trying to suggest was just more stuff to hit. The 1250 module is maxed with no new expansion holes.

    I just ordered this yesterday, along with a double kicker. I'm so excited to get it here and put it together, I couldn't help but check out this video to see what I'm in for. A little disappointed that the module doesn't have any expansion slots, but could I shell out for another module and upgrade it that way, or are they designed specifically to work together? Same for the cymbal triggers, but for my case I'm hoping the sounds will change with the velocity of the hit.
    Great video, very informative. Thanks Keithron!

    • @KeithronPowell
      @KeithronPowell  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome! I love it. I’ve had it for about a month. Yeah, I asked them about that and they explained their thinking behind no expansion slots. They just wanted to make it easier to get the full experience so they basically gave the expanded accessories. So, the extra tom and cymbal are included as standard.
      I’m going to do another video of some stuff to pay attention to so stay tuned.

    The SD1200 is now $800, would love to see a comparison to the SD1250 since there is now a $300 price difference. I’m leaning toward the upgraded grey but the blue looks even nicer with a $300 discount. Yes, I get that there is another cymbal and Tom and that the snare has a rim sensor on the SD1250. Question is, does the SD1200 hold up, play well and represent the brand well at the lower price point?

    • @KeithronPowell
      @KeithronPowell  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ok… this is the question I’ve been waiting for. You have to remember the 1200 has been the top dog for a few years. The 1250 is the 1200… with a new coat of paint. So as to durability they’re the same. The only comparison is to add the expansion to the 1200 and make them even… now you’re looking at a $949 for the 1200 and the SD1260 only $150 more.
      What makes the 1250 better is the upgraded snare and cymbal. The extra pick up sensor on the snare cuts out on misrepresented hits by making it more accurate and the triple zone sensor on the ride makes for a more realistic feel when playing. The extra $150 is a no brained at that point.

    What I don't understand is that in the description for the SD1250 on Guitar Center's website it says that the ride is "triple zone" and that the snare has a "rimshot sensor". False advertising or...?

    • @KeithronPowell
      @KeithronPowell  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not at all. The cymbal is triple zone. Bell, bow and edge. If you play on one hat isn’t you’ll see the difference. And the rim shot sensor is not the same as a cross stick sensor, which it doesn’t have.
