Thanks for uploading Eric Dolphy's 'You Don't Know What Love Is' to me one of the finest pieces of music ever! I have a little story connected to it too! I was a young budding folk/rock guitar player in San Fran in about 1972. I had a close friend in Bob Feldman - a NY sax man who had played me this cut off his record of it. He finally trusted me enough to lend me the LP. After listening to the cut some five times I called the one music store I knew of that might have a used flute for sale. The guy did and and the price was in my grasp so I said hold it for me I'm gettin' on the bus. I did and oh 45 mins later I'm walking down the hill to the store/repair shop. The street was deserted but as I walked in the front door my buddy Bob and I were shoulder to shoulder going in the shop! I still don't know how this could have happened! Sweet mysteries of music. Thanks!
Yes, one of the greatest pieces of recorded music. Eric Dolphy was an astounding player, and this cut demonstrates that. What a musician. Thank you, Eric.
I am in the moment of reproducing this on trombone. A work of pure dedication since I have had to explore a totally different approach to playing the horn. I met Eric in 1964 in Wuppertal Elberveld and I have tried to emulate his dedication ever since.
As you see by my electronic tag I am and nearly always been ( since about 1967) a fan of Eric Dolphy. I have a flute and an alto sax, but yes listening to this is, well.. its just jaw droppingly good. The master speaks ....!
This piece is Ethereal! Let it take you for an eargasm! We are Very Blessed to be able to listen to His to his body of work moving forward! Nothing But Love
The melody of the flute as if floating in the air is really impressive, also feel the nostalgic small and sentimental. beautiful sound.
Supe entonces en mi carne cuanta verdad conlleva You don't know what love is.

From 10:14 to the end is magic, finishing an incredible performance.
I used to listen to this over and over . it has lost none of it's appeal
