Makes sense! Electronic bells here started being produced in 1992, but most Class Is didn't start to adopt them until the late 1990s (like around 1998 and 1999).
Thanks! Well, unfortunately today (29th May) I was out filming in Kent, also hit by thunder & lightning. I got absolutely soaked at lunchtime whilst waiting for a train at Teston LC. I had to finish the trip early as localised flooding caused major rail disruption 😡😡
The lights cut out early!
E2S alarms and halgen wigwags! Not super common as far as I know!
There's a couple still around. I filmed another crossing with a similar setup at Nutbourne, West Sussex.
Speaking of Cambridgeshire- The Ely level that is super huge (and rlly busy) recently closed but they havent taken it down yet...
Yeah, I've heard about that. It's been fenced off but the equipment is still there
Nice video! Have to wonder if this would've had mechanical bells originally...
No it didn't since it was installed in 1985. Yodalarms were introduced to crossings in 1979.

Thanks David, and yeah what Max said. There's probably quite a few half barrier crossings which had bells previously.
Awesome! By the way, I’m so glad you didn’t come to the crossing in, if I’m right, Linford Essex! It was thunder and lightning here!

UK Level Crossings Channel Wait you actually got hit by lightning?
No, Kent got hit by thunder and lightning. We all got soaked whilst filming in the weather.
Top alarm of the week: E2S alarm
Great catch !
Thanks! 😀😀
There is moss growing on that "wig-wag" at the start!
Hmm, needs a clean, or worse still, a replacement :/
Nope! Better not!
The lights remind me of minehead lc
J'adore ces E2S ! 😍
Merci! Les e2s sont communs, donc parfois ils sont ennuyeux :)
UK Level Crossings Channel C'est vrai qu'ils sont un peu ennuyeux quand c'est long. De rien !
Great video! 😁

Joe I'm sorry don't block my channel
This crossing just got new LEDs and barriers last month. 🙄
Yeah and the other crossing (Three Horseshoes No1) is awaiting an upgrade for a few weeks time 😶
L'alarme émettait un message ?
