Thanks! Just got the pipe version and it didn't come with instructions on how to fill it (or I managed to lose them right away). So far it works great, and no more nasty petro taste. The regular fluid zippo tastes like I'm puffing on the back end of my weed eater for the first few draws.
I haven't tried the pipe insert yet but hope to soon. I have used the regular yellow flame insert extensively and the file wheel and gas button on it are a bit stiff the more I have used it.✌️
I'm excited to see how Zippo's butane inserts would fare in the long-term use, if they are as reliable as the petrol wick inserts, and so on. People have long been waiting for a solution to the evaporation issue. Butane lighters are the solution. A real solution that solved the problem once and for all. It was a solution the lighter world has came up with in the 1950s. And it comes with no wick. Zippo finally did, what Ronson, Quercia, Dunhill and other lighter makers have done decades ago: The butane lighter. Zippo's first attempt with the butane lighter was I think in the 80s with the Zippo Contempo. Zippo's butane lighter came rather late, didn't it?
Zippo did come late to the butane fueled lighter market and hasn't fared too well with their offerings up to this point. The change to butane though didn't help many, if any of those older brands you cited stay in business as they have largely fallen by the wayside. I'm not sure butane is the answer because it has limitations of its own, even if it doesn't evaporate. I hope you are well my friend!✌️
wow, mine has nowhere near that flame power, it is quite difficult in any wind, wsp compared ti a bic. but i see only maybe a total of a 1" flame from the opening to top of flame... and I have not seen an adjustment for this, maybe i misssed something,,,?
@@DependableFlame ok. awesome.ty. think ill get an insert and some butane eventually. just bought an old type though...........Lighter, fluid, 3 wicks and 3 packs of flints for 25 bucks.
Seems like the butane inserts are a bit hit or miss probably about 1 in 5 or 1 in 4 are faulty

Is it possible to use it for cigars or is it not preferable because of the taste of the gas?
No issues with cigars. Butane doesn’t leave a taste.
Ya, I think that's all left up to personal preference and sensitivity to such issues.✌️

No, there isn't a flame adjustment.✌️
Hey man, I got a lighter I need help putting together, can you help?
Perhaps, what you got?✌️

The butane runs out in a few days whether you use it or not?
No, butane should definitely retain its fuel and not be prone to the same evaporation problems as petrol lighters.✌️
