We advise you to watch another great war movie "White Tiger": th-cam.com/play/PL7EqAsBxqGggzz6k2wjqVzd35VDyZnI-B.html The plot: Incredible rumors circulate among Soviet soldiers about a mysterious German tank that suddenly appears and disappears on the battlefield, destroying everything in its path. This is the White Tiger, the devil no one can handle. After one of such battles, a badly burnt tank driver is found in a disabled Soviet tank. Surviving such monstrous burns is impossible, but the tank driver is quickly on the mend. Doctors are perplexed and throw up their hands, assuring that it’s a miracle. Still, this man does not remember who he is, where he comes from, but he knows one thing - the mystical German tank does exist. He believes that the war has given him back his life to rid the world of the killer tank, the White Tiger. What’s that? A fantasy? A mirage? Third Reich’s secret weapon? Or did he discover the ultimate secret of the war?

I was fortunate to have a Modern World History teacher, Honors level who taught the world wars, multiple causes and consequences from the perspective of Russian history from 1904 to 1944. Changed my entire world view, introduced me to Russian Literature and an entirely radical way of thinking about world events, another world not determined by the British colonial views and their allies in the West. Well done you getting a bit of fashionable Anglophobia in there, top marks. Your esteemed teacher would also likely have taught you that the Eurocentric view of when WW II started is wrong and the correct starting date would have been the Japanese invasion of China in 1931. This teacher would presumably have informed you that the European start of WW II would have been when Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union both invaded Poland, often people appear to bypass this event or attempt to gloss over it and make it a purely Nazi narrative. This isn't a 'British colonial view' just the plain facts of the matter but I'm sure that that invasion of a sovereign country was 'for the better' also. One thing that they appear to have missed teaching you is that this event was from The Soviet Union, not Russia and one of the key protagonists of this tale would not have thanked him for obscuring the rest of the peoples of the Soviet Union's contribution to the defeat of Nazi Germany. Sorry, but you either had a poor teacher, or you did not listen, or you're just making things up.

This is an absolute classic. A movie that will keep you on the edge of your chair. Subtle, great direction and terrific action which is absolutely realistic, esp for those who have served in armed forces and understand WW II, esp the campaign in the East. A movie totally worth watching.
On the Road to Berlin 2015" is a visually stunning foreign film with powerful performances and a captivating storyline. The attention to detail in the sets and costumes adds authenticity to the historical drama. This thought-provoking movie explores complex wartime relationships with grace and sensitivity. I highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates great filmmaking and storytelling.
I was alright all the way through, but the last scene, with the newspaper, and the journalist did what he promised to do, was just too sad. It brought me to tears. I had exactly the same thing happen to me. A platoon group picture was published in the regimental newspaper, but it was 5 weeks after a terrorist had thrown a grenade in the back of our lorry. 5 were killed, including our Lieutenant sitting in the cab, and 3 injured so badly they were discharged. I was covered in shrapnel hits, but nothing too serious. It was sad to see your ex-comrades alive and happy, and how few of us were left.
It is really a masterpiece in the making. The friendship and emotional bond of a prisoner towards his security soldier made this film a stronghold. Congratulations to all the characters and all the team who made this film. I love this so much. This is my second view .
Great cinematic depiction, heartfelt and visually captivating. To the soldiers no matter where they are, may their memory live on forever, with gratitude and respect. Thank You for your sacrifices. Hello from Ohio

Shouldn't the title be "On the Road *Away* from Berlin". * Dennis Quaid similarly played a room temperature IQ comrade except here the main character rather than stay with the strong loined farm lady would voluntarily march to his death by the same people who would've shot him in the back if he, without a rifle, didn't keep charging an enemy machine gun position. The men standing in the rear ready to shoot anyone who retreated.) In old country man get shot on the spot like guy with rifle in village early on in the movie.

the Russian paradox; so macho, and yet so nostalgic and sentimental...you would never see an american movie with this kind of warmth, and of course it would be over they top and hyperobvous
My father had to fight in the Soviet Union in 1943 as a young Wehrmacht soldier. As a draftee he had no choice. And he was a child of his time and first believed the propaganda that Russians are primitive and backward. The eastern front taught him otherwise. As early as 1943 he no longer believed in final victory. In Smolensk he was badly wounded by Soviet artillery. All of this created in him a strange respect for the Red Army and the Soviet people. It was a real tragedy. It is fair that the two peoples whose cultures best suited each other - Russians and Germans - fought each other to the death. Sometimes I wonder if we fought each other not because we're so different, but because we're so alike. A bloody dispute between brothers. And especially today, the same stupid resentments are growing in Germany that were never really eradicated in the German people back then. This time, however, as a NATO vassal on behalf of the USA. It's time to put an end to this madness. To bury the old prejudices and to live together in peace. I see a guilt in my people to make the same mistakes again. When will Germans and Russians finally find each other and form the alliance that is closest to our two peoples? I hope I can still experience that.
Both Nazism and Bolshevism is are attrocities. Yet so many social Marxist ideas live on and poison the West. Wokeness, virtue signalling which is vice signalling, sterilsation, abortion, eugenics, killing of the inconvenient, sick and elderly, and mascilination of women but most of all the fraid of victim vs victimiser narrative imposed on all situations.
After the Metternich-doctrine in 1814, the kings of Europe decided to never ever wage war against each other, and instead help each other in waging war solely against their own people, so that them don´t revolt against their kings. It was then that nationalism was first invented, to facilitate each king in convincing/manipulating his own population to wage war against the population of another king in need (of a king, whose own population was about to revolt). When the doctrine was over, nationalism stayed as a good measure/invention for manipulating populations... The white race, by far the most primitive one, really bought in it, in opposition to races with thousands of years of culture... In other words: Yes, it was because we're so alike, and so that we should never find out about it...

The people of the Soviet Union suffered horribly; first at the hands of Stalin then by the Nazi invasion followed again by their own government. They fought not for Communism but for their loved ones and for Mother Russia. The free world owes this USSR greatest generation a debt of thanks. They broke the back of Hitler's war machine.

Absolutely fantastic story and production.....this is so much better than anything coming out of Hollywood.

No. The German army Nazi or not were invading fascists. Nothing about brothers, Get real

It is possible to find documentary about the blockade of the City - to such find on TH-cam. It is a long story about my mother, etc. I would like to make a note about Hollywood - it sucks lately. But I, as a foreigner, back then, still remember excellent war films made by Hollywood: "Full Metal Jacket", " "Platoon", "Save Private Ryan", etc. I bow my head for every veteran - regardless the army was served.
Thank you for your human comments, a soldier does not choose his, or her leaders, but has to carry out their orders.

I think the more Americans and Russians learn each other’s culture the more we can see ourselves living the same ways in different parts of this planet we all call home. Thanks for sharing movie w/ English subtitles…..
I don't even think their sense of ethics , morality, and justice as a people is much different than ours. They just keep getting a raw deal.
It is hard to believe that on more than one occasion, they lost more men in one battle than we lost in the whole war.
All people are the same in the end...It's governments that convince us to kill each other.
@@mikealvarez2322 as a person born in USSR, can say that you quite brain washed about this country and Stalin as well.

Yes, that nice Stalin chap was totally misunderstood. If only people would just understand that those gulags were simply holiday camps with everyone free to come and go as they please. Happy days in the old Soviet Union!
Amazing film ,sad ending losing his eventual buddy really enjoyed it thanks for uploading this wonderful story 👍

This was a fantastic movie. The acting was superior. Is it any wonder that we have become disenchanted with Hollywood. Practical effects but underplayed. This was a simple and relatable film in many ways.
Oh ! A movie that moves you rapidly from one emotion to another seamlessly without much fanfare

Great film!!!! Some of the best war films I've seen lately are Russian. "White Tiger" being another I'd recommend.
Russian films are better than Hollywood in many ways.

My first two Russian films ever and I watched them one after the other! I preferred this one - On the Road to Berlin - more than than the first - White Tiger. Much more of the human emotions and worries. Thank you. I did not think the Russian countryside would be so attractive. Perhaps the locations were picked for this aspect. Where was it filmed? And are all Kazaks so single-minded and dedicated to their mission, their lives? I shall remember not to tangle with them. Such an unexpected and very sad ending... ;-(
This film was profoundly touching, from the cinematography to the characters personal ideologies; I enjoyed the depiction of human resilience and community but also the acknowledgment of the unfairness and tragedy bred by war. A very well composed film!
That war story is all about the " Orck Soldiers " 😐

The last close-up of his face.. the emotions... Oh man, no words ...
