Money buys a lot but not every doctor wants to be smuggled to a dusty mountain with a good over his head to tend to a drug lord. But if that drug lord was in a 5 star private hospital in the US? That’s different.
Let’s be real Mayo could prob put up a $1 billion in cold hard cash to make that happen. He lives the rest of his life “imprisoned” in a private hospital and can be visited by his family.

If someone withdraws or prosecutor find nothing you will walk but if you pleased guilty you fucked. Ipleaded not guilty to one case recently , even of i was kind of but dog prosecutor could not prove it or didn’t have evidence and still we went to try. Also I realised they charged me with something i was never interviewed about. If i pkeaded guilty i would pkead guilty to that as well. Either the Mexican governments entire security and intelligence apparatus is totally inept, corrupt or they knew and stayed silent to avoid sparking deadly confrontation with the Sinaloa cartel. Perhaps all three are true. El Chapo's faction within the organization including Los Chapitos always believed that El Mayo set his compadre up to be captured, so having the last Chapito flip the script on Zambada is bittersweet revenge.

The mexican government definitely knew about it. They kept their mouths shut because every major cartel has to go. Mexico is at the precipice of a new economy now that China is no longer the world's producer of cheap goods. In order for mexico's economy to flourish, the big cartels gotta go. They steal cargo and that's a no go for the USA. American bound products must now be protected at all costs. The new economy in mexico is for everyone. The old narco economy was for the few. There's no longer billions of dollars at stake. Now there's trillions of dollars flowing. The cartel economy is doomed. The cartels must be removed. In order to not have hundreds of government workers get assassinated, the government must work quietly.

No. El Chapo and his son took a deal to betray El Mayo. ADX Florence broke El Chapo and he has been doing everything in his power to get moved to a less restrictive unit. I don't know what the deal was but I imagine his son is going to get leniency. Also, the son that turned himself is young and he is not facing as serious charges as the older son's so they convinced him in to lure El Mayo and he will likely only do a couple years. El Mayo is on the same level of El Chapo and would NEVER voluntarily turn himself in because at 76 he is going to die in prison. The US wanted El Mayo but he was very careful. He would have never voluntarily left Mexico. He believed he was going to look at investment properties in Mexico with El Chapo's son but he was betrayed and taken to the US.

Mexico also tried to get credit saying they had him locked up for a month, but they didn't press the story because the US had an upper hand on the intel.
