Brown rice is indeed healthier than white rice but brown rice when cooked by itself is very fibrous. So we usually mix the brown rice with the white rice at a 50:50 ratio. The result is perfect. We have the more fibrous brown rice and the more delicious white rice. I noticed that you bought the red rice but you can do the same and mix the red rice with the white rice. A good white rice is the Harvester Japonica rice. It has the quality of a Japanese rice but a lot cheaper.
Black, brown and red rice are all healthy rice. But they are very hard to cook them and cook longer than the regular white rice unless you have a rice cooker designed for those kind of rice.
I think that is a fair price to pay for everything you bought. Especially for a family of 6. It's actually a bit cheaper than South Africa, and SA is actually one of the cheaper African countries when it comes to cost of living.
Very true my dear I suffer here in Ethiopia our very own Ceres juice here is R150, then if I’m gonna compare prices means I will never eat then I will loose weight 😂😂😂
It's really expensive now but I think compare to Kenya or other African countries, the Philippines has and should have cheaper prices specially in the food department because we have our own brands and manufacturing industries and they are large companies, from canned tunas, sardines, corned beef, ham and cheeses, biscuits even chocolates and beauty products to clothes. That's why I said before everything you need is available in our country.

But if you are doing your groceries once a week and in volume, you may explore further down below in Cavite, that even you make a far travel, still a big savings. That's only my opinion.

That’s reasonable, my groceries for two weeks for four people is $400.00. I do all the shopping in our house and I am also shopping in a military commissary supposedly cheaper by 20 percent.
We should always be thrifty and not waste food or anything that we bought, only buy what you need, and stick to the budget. I like your thankful attitude even with the high inflation prices.
I must say you and your husband seems like very good parents who serve the Lord and bring your kids up in it very impressed oh by the way you have beautiful kids you little girls your son handsome he sorta resemble your husband good job Mom and Dad keep serving the lord like you doing

Reverends I am in New Year and eggs here in now around $8.dozen,which is $44.24,in the Philippines and my son lives in the US, Virgin Islands and eggs are $17. A dozen there which is $944.01 where you are at.just for a dozen eggs,how crazy is that? I must agree with you,things are really getting very expensive and the pay checks are not going up. Fresh produce wise. Fruits and vegetables wise. Here in Kenya is cheaper. I do a house shopping for 14 people and I can tell you here is cheaper.

Buy your rice in the Public Market or Palengke. It is more cheaper, especially on Brown Rice.
The markets in Tagaytay are for tourists so the prices are even higher than the grocery store
