In the first years of my relationship/marriage I was insecure and would ask questions like that, knowing I would be upset with the truth. I would cyber stalk his ex's and compare myself to them. Found out im the baddest bitch he ever dated, so that felt good. But still I was insecure about did they kiss better? Fuck better? Give oral better? Listen better? Etc etc.. it took over 5 years until I completely stopped giving a shit about his past and now I only worry about the present and our future. And I mean worry in the sense of giving thought to it but not being worried like something will go wrong. I've accepted that I've put so much work, love, sweat, tears and years into our relationship to walk away now. And that if God forbid we don't work out I'm not even interested in starting something new with somebody new. I have 2 beautiful (young) kids to look after so I'll just be a single mom if it comes down to that. I've given my husband my golden years and plan to give him the rest of my life. We always work shit out when the going gets tough. There's nothing we can't weather together unless one or both of us decide we are no longer interested in putting the effort in to do so. We have one serious rule in our marriage and that is if one of us cheats that's when we would call it quits and divorce. Only because I made the mistake of cheating one time, realized I didn't want anyone but him and then we worked it out. He then made that same mistake and realized the same thing I did, and again we worked it out. So our agreement now is that if one of us feels the need to cheat again then there's no longer a reason to remain together. We seen how broken one another became after it happened the first time and if either of us decides that doesn't matter and cheating is worth going through all of that again..then any love, respect, or just common courtesy we expect each other to have is simply gone. There would be no reason to accept that kind of behavior again and remain together. In long term relationships it's easy to be tempted with "the grass is always greener on the other side" syndrome, or get bored in your relationship because you've done anything and everything 2 people can possibly do sexually and being intimate has simply become boring, or you start fucking instead of making love and the "spark" is gone, or you are just exhausted from and tired of the predictability of the same shit everyday -between working, caring for the kids, trying to maintain the house, the bills and everything else there's no desire or energy to put into your partner sexually or emotionally and you start to seek getting your needs met elsewhere, there's a million reasons why people decide to cheat. & If anyone that needs to read this actually reads this, just know that if you truly love your spouse, infidelity simply isn't worth it. One moment of passion, lust, getting any or all of your needs met by someone else might feel good for that moment. but then reality will hit and all of the guilt and regret that you feel will be nothing compared to watching your spouse crumble under the weight of the realization that you betrayed them in the worst way. they feel like they never knew you, trust will be out the window for a long time, and by the time you come to the decision that you fucked up and you want your "old, boring" life back it may be too late. Some relationships cannot be repaired after that. And some can be repaired, but it takes a couple YEARS of hard work and sincere apologies to fix what was broken in one minute, one night, one week, one month or however long the cheating lasted. It is not worth it! You'll live with that regret indefinitely. Overall my point here is to let anyone going through similar insecurities know that as you age, mature, and grow your relationship, those insecurities will eventually go away. I assure you, it is normal to have those insecurities in the beginning, it's a natural human way of thinking and feeling. That being said, until they do go away, don't let it get out of hand to the point your partner cannot handle it, you may just lose the best partner you'll ever have. & The point in sharing my story of infidelity was to give an example of a common struggle that longer term relationships often go through, and to give hope and inspiration to anyone that may need it. Hope and inspiration to know it is more common than you think, you aren't alone in making these kind of mistakes, and if both spouses are willing, that kind of damage can be repaired. you can grow stronger together because of it. The more different kinds of pain you go through together ultimately makes your relationship stronger in spite of it. (If you haven't cheated and are contemplating it, take a deep look inside and decide if you want a reason to end the relationship or do you still want to be with this person but just aren't getting all of your needs met. Because if it's about your needs it is better to attempt to rectify that part of your relationship rather than seeking it elsewhere. Seeking it outside of your relationship could result in your spouse deciding to call it quits for good. As I mentioned before, both partners have to be willing to work hard to repair that kind of damage. It is possible, but not guaranteed. So no need to go through that kind of pain to go stronger if you can help it.) Anyways, I've rambled on long enough. This long ass comment is here only for the people that need to read it.
