Hi! I don't think this is a case of illegal building. The wheels turn assymetrically but when going straight the wheels are parallel. If you remember in some older technic sets, the 2 rear wheels were rigidly connected (like a 100% diff), so when you turned it put strees on the outer!
Wow, such a simple yet elegant way of implementing Ackerman steering. It sure beats the ridiculously overcomplicated things I tried to make as a kid.

Only drawback to Ackerman is that you are putting stress on the Lego pieces (illegal building technique technically)
