- In this episode we found ourselves inside a mental asylum.. but this time it was an abandoned one, not the one where Elliot was created. We attempted to camp overnight while we setup the cameras inside the asylum. Essentially "we left cameras alone inside an abandoned asylum" was going to be the concept for this one. But.. other people had other ideas. It didn't go quite to plan but I suppose it gave us something a bit scarier than a few taps and bangs.

We stopped recording and one man randomly came out recording on his phone, we said hello and he just replied "just filming this so i can see what's left later" we again thought screw it let's just come back when it's light and then again there were two people there. It was an adult with a child and neither of them were the same person as the night before.

Gun-owning American here. No, I would not be laughing in your situation. Guns are not for creeping around abandoned buildings, even here. That's not normal and you were right to be scared. Glad you got out safely!
Absolutely agree. I live in Texas where you can literally see armed people in restaurants, but to be skulking around an abandoned building with not only guns, but tools? That’s suspicious in any country

We take gun ownership very seriously here in the States. I was terrified when Joe said guys dressed up in Army gear with helmets were carrying long rifles. Why? So glad you guys didn't run into them and got out of there safely. And please, the next time Joe wakes up with anxiety and butterflies, don't go to your planned destination.
I completely agree even tho I would absolutely have a gun if I was creeping around in an abandoned building. Lol
They will have been a gang of metal thieves. Nicking copper piping, wire, anything metal they can get their hands on basically, to flog it at a scrap metal place. The ladders and angle grinders will have been used to rip the wiring from the ceiling . Scumbags. The people you saw the next day were probably the same ones, still at it. The fact that they had guns was a bit weird, possibly they used them as a threat in case they were disturbed. Good thing you got out though.

Well, the title wasn’t click bait. As a former military person, I can give you some advice. Never turn your light on, that gives up your position and that’s where they’re going to fire.
I live in Illinois and have never seen anyone walking around with rifles or hand guns. Glad you’re safe.

I'm in America. I was a Columbine kid... one of the students of the first major mass school shootings here... in the state of Colorado. I don't blame you guys a bit for being scared of whatever rifles you saw. That would have given my PTSD PTSD. Anyhow, I think the rifle kids did leave and the angle grinder kids came in later. Then copper kids the next day. It's a shame how much damage all these kids have done in 3 short years to this place. Would have been a good investigation too without those guys coming. You did the right thing by leaving. Always better to be safe... than sorry.

@@brendafile612 thank you sweet soul. Yes, that day caused lifelong damage to everyone at that school, some obviously worse than others. Those who survived it were never the same. We all needed help to process it the best we could. But I'm still left with a lot of triggers... sounds, guns, a look about people, PTSD nightmares, and so much more. But I'm ok, better than I've ever been about it. The Whys will never be answered though.

I don’t know, I grew up in the English countryside and I used to walk around late at night and in the middle of the day with a precharged rifle, this was only 10 years ago, walking across a field towards the woods and old abandoned buildings, I had a rifle on my back and would see people quite often that smiled and said hello to me.
I loved being out at night in the woods, abandoned buildings and farm land.
Not everyone is out to cause harm.

As a child, my mother used to help her retired father maintain a cemetery. We asked her wasn't she scared. She would say the same thing your Nan said!
I live in America and carry my protection daily, guns are scary but not as scary as people, not knowing their intentions or mental state and being in a dark creepy abandoned place, you guys are so brave!! ❤
I'm a gun owner in the US, I live in the country and absolutely did not laugh at seeing people outside that building with guns, no matter what kind, even though we are a country of gun owners, we are still terrified when we see anyone carrying a gun out in the open, especially in the dark, it's never a good reason, so glad you got out safe,

I've been disappointed with every ghost show that I thought was genuine, but turned out they faked stuff. Made it difficult to believe any of it. I just really want to believe there is more after this life, but didn't have a good reason too. You guys restored that believe for me.

If they looked like proper guns though, chances are it could have been air-soft guns, but I don't know what laws there are for owning airsoft rifles and what they can and cannot look like / perform like in the UK, regardless though, properly terrifying nonetheless

I'm only halfway through the episode, and as an American, I would say that you having a healthy fear of guns and ppl with guns is smart. I am always more concerned about you getting robbed for your expensive equipment, when you run into other ppl out there. Stay safe and never think twice about your own safety-get the heck out of there if you feel the least bit in danger!

Not that i would ever want this to happen to anyone, but I believe this is the first time a description like this meets the content provided. I see so many videos with a similar description that the content doesn't necessarily match. In the end though, I'm relieved that you all are safe. American gun owner here. Guns are only for skulking around with if you're up to no good. Guns should be for safe target practice, hunting, or defending life and property. You were absolutely justified in being scared of play army dudes bearing weapons. Any smart person would be.

That was one hell of an episode. I was freaking out the whole way through, especially with Elliot waiting at the bottom of the stairs when Joe went up.
We brought the exact same tent last summer. When those people showed up, I said to my hubby, how the hell are they gonna pack that up in a hurry. We had to practice folding that bloody thing three times first before we took it anywhere and even then, still had trouble with it. Those instructions are shit!

American here. I live a pretty adventurous life, but I've never come across any random person with a gun, let alone a team of gun welding guys in army gear. Glad you're safe!
This was terrifying. Obviously you should trust your gut feeling. Easy to say afterwards. You made the right decision though. I saw a clip from an urban explorer in USA and a random guy turned up with a gun, acted like a security - guard and wanted him to lay his hands in his back and other things. The explorer complied at first but slowly made his way from there. Turned out this guy with a gun was no security at all and for all that anyone could have known could have shot the explorer or kidnapped him under gunpoint. No one would have known. Be careful. This figure at 29:47 doesn't have those straps, plus he has black gloves on. I don't see a backpack on him at all. I even zoomed in to see the straps.
