      @@carmeltabby well, acktushally, he has the smallest (edit: Ruling) minority in history, but because we have a multi party system, he had the largest minority, and as the liberal supporters said while Harper was running with larger minorities, and are strangely quiet all of a sudden on this issue, most of Canada didn't vote for him. Dominion machines aren't used as far as I know.

      Meh, that happens a lot. Some of those were so entirely stupid it doesn't matter how much you train them. Watch that footage of the SF guy taking the SAW away from the ANA guy out of frustrations, lol.
      But, we did have good-hearted, capable loyalists, too, and they're all probably dead. That and the 13 soldiers... Just like we did the Kurds. That kind of Karma is why we're going to see a lot of war on the home front, soon.
      Waging war? Meh. Who cares. If we don't do it, someone else always does. But... To betray and abandon your allies and even your own soldiers... That is a sin that deserves no forgiveness at all.

      I never knew there was a such thing as omelette day….. You could get a omelette everyday on Fort Sill, I thought all bases were the same. After leaving Sill, I was married and never ate a chow hall again, it was a sad time in my life to give up the chow hall for a wife.

      @@jasonsteiner8629 yeah at ft eustis. Every thursday we had an omlette grill going, and for lunch we would serve a mongolian grill. That was my favorite time cause we got to eat and make our own food after we served the garrison. My sergeat always stuck me on grill duty, to train new guys and because, as much as i hated being a cook, i did like interacting the the rest of the soldiers. Everyone is friends with the food service specialists

      As a fister, I was in a Service Battery a time or three, so we always had a platoon of cooks with us. We took very good care of them and in return, they took damn good care of us. I am sure we had the best cooks in the Army. I learned how much they worked by just watching them and coming in drunk to the B’s around 03:00 to watch them leave for work at the chow hall.

    As a Canadian who works and deployed with many branches of the US military, I f***ing agree with the DFAC omelette. Jez I miss them sooooooo much. For the recruting in Canada, it’s 17 with parental consent.

    When covid first hit the barbers for AAFES on the base I was living on at the time walked out, as their union said they didn't have to work. Knowing that service members had to have haircuts, AAFES reached out to the local barbers, who mind you were all forced to shut down, and asked them to man the barbershop on base which they did. The quality of the haircuts went up dramatically during this time, and then promptly dropped when the barbershops were allowed open back up/ AAFES barbers came back.

      Still blows the mind how AAFES barbers can only do 1 haircut and still manage to screw it up. I get the same haircut at Great Clips still, takes them about 8-10 minutes and its done properly. Hardly a high class barbershop.

    Back when I was in school my teacher was talking to me about his time as a US Marine back in Desert Storm, he told me with the same exact energy as you about the gas building. Literally even included the four foot of snot dropping from people's noses then how it happened to him when it was his turn.

      Don't forget that they were had also tested and found Multicam a superior pattern, wasted money on a legal battle over the rights to Multicam and developed the current OCP patterns( A tropic pattern was in the works last I heard) and retired the UCP(ACU is the uniforms cut not camo pattern) and rolled out the OCP all at a cost of almost $10 billion USD. (5 billion on the UCP then another 4Billion to roll out the OCP thus far )

      @@JosephDawson1986 It all comes down to many people in leadership don't want to support companies that support civilians (including cops), largely in part due to their gun control agenda. They will see no problem in violating Berry Amendment and having companies outsource defense technology just so they don't send too much money to the "undesirables". The most clear cut case of this was Magpul with the Colorado Mag Run. Obama's admin immediately banned Magpul over obviously baseless claims. Only until Trump then Magpul was suddenly (and rightfully) established as the standard mag.

I actually really liked the dining facility in ft. Leonardwood. I had to stay there for two months for the investigator course and the food was pretty good.

    The Military was the only place I've attended where 18-year-olds already have a receding hairline, have been Divorced, and a child already. I'm currently mid 20's and I'm getting out competed by these kids. Blows my mind everytime I try to fall asleep thinking about it.

    Best thing besides the dfac omelette station was when you wanted biscuits and gravy and they served it on a bed of eggs two giant biscuits with sausage and bacon on top then smother it in gravy to this day that is the only way I eat biscuits and gravy

      If you are old enough, they gave us a vote on the pattern to ask what the soldiers thought. We all choose a pattern close to what the Marine’s ended up getting (around 2001-2002 time frame), but then they ended up giving us the least voted on pattern.
