In the first past the post system, you require only 35% fools. The rest can be rational, but make little impact, because rational people have divergent views on politics, unlike indoctrinated fools.

Last election, not even BJP believed they would win MP. In tribal heavy Chhattisgarh, BJP is not popular. Still somehow, they got 2--3% more vote share and wins. Parakala's views are biased. Completely focussed on the negatives. India is now the fastest growing large economy in the world. For three years the growth rates have been 9.1 % ( of course the base effect), 7.2 %, 7.3% (no base effect). For FY 25 growth is likely to be around 7 %. There is global appreciation for this. When our neighbours are at the IMF for forex loans, we have Forex reserves of $ 610 billion. There is a UN Report on Poverty Reduction in India. Parakala doesn't see any of these. Politically biased, for obvious reasons.
What about previous seven years? Our country's GDP grew at an average of 7.78% between 2004-2008 itself. What is so great about 7.2%? Indian population will ensure a growth of about 6% GDP without a government. Did you hear Dr. Singh or PC tom toming 'world's fastest growing economy' like the present administration. If more than 80 million people are dependent on free ration, what is there to do chest thumping? Mr. Prabhakar speaks the mind of common man. What was the necessity to introduce demonitisation? Out of 132 crores 82 crores on ration? The level of poverty is high and going up every day, From 58 rupees to 84 rupees per dollar in 9 years!
What is wrong in giving free food grains to weaker sections? It is better than food grains rotting in godowns of FCI. Even the courts had suggested this. Subsidies and incentives are provided to the corporate sector. Similarly this facility is provided to the common man. This should be welcome. The result is seen expenditure surveys of rural sector. There are spending the amount thus saved on other FMCG items.
There is never a debate on WIRE why farmers get subsidized power, fertilizers, subsidized creditnot to mention say their income is not taxable.

Mr Prabhakar has been persuasive in his criticism of Modi and the BJP. His arguments would perhaps appeal to the intelligent, open-minded people who are in a minority right now. What is odd is that Dr. Parakala has apparently failed to convince even his wife about the validity of his well- reasoed expose of the Modi govt. If only he could prevail on his wife to resign her ministership, it will have a devastating effect on Modi. I wonder how Parakala can influence and win over a large number of people (voters) to his side when his talks are largely confined to small elite groups which may not need his persuasion at all.

For three years the growth rates have been 9.1 % ( of course the base effect), 7.2 %, 7.3% (no base effect). For FY 25 growth is likely to be around 7 %. There is global appreciation for this. When our neighbours are at the IMF for forex loans, we have Forex reserves of $ 610 billion. There is a UN Report on Poverty Reduction in India.
Parakala doesn't see any of these. Politically biased, for obvious reasons.
What about previous seven years? Our country's GDP grew at an average of 7.78% between 2004-2008 itself. What is so great about 7.2%?
Indian population will ensure a growth of about 6% GDP without a government. Did you hear Dr. Singh or PC tom toming 'world's fastest growing economy' like the present administration.
