I discovered Maeve Binchy only recently with Light a Penny Candle. It took all of a paragraph and I was hooked Never have I cared about characters in a book as I have about hers. I finished The Glass Lake a few days ago and I was in tears, I was totally into the characters and I so hoped things would work out for Lena. If you haven't read her work read Light a Penny Candle to start, it is just compelling.
Michael I was engrossed by Light a Penny Candle but the one that had me a bit emotional shall we say was The Glass Lake and as you will know the book I'm sure you'll know the pages involved.
