I love when a bunch of guys not doing it for a living, with no agenda other than playing and presenting well, put good music out there because they collectively get it that that is what good music deserves. They are paying forward their love of the music as well as the dedication and creativity that exemplifies and it is to be hoped that somewhere among that lukewarm crowd is a young kid or two that gets inspired. Guys like these are the musical heroes that get overlooked while the bands doing stadium shows get gushed over. Guys like these are a blessing.
That was excellently said. I grew up with these guys and can attest fully to your words. It’s so nice to hear it recognized. Oh man…I’m not crying, you’re crying. ❤
Thank you, and yes really do love doing it. Even more so when we realized how many people were tuning in to our vids, we never expected a response like we're getting from all of you, and it made us even more determined to find some really cool unique songs to play. Since we weren't hired by anyone, we could play anything we wanted, so we did and were glad that you all like them . 🏆
No better way to enjoy playing and listening to music - relaxed, raw and no pressure. Just the greatest feeling jamming with friends with no high expectations. I’ve been enjoying following you guys and your commitment together. Inspiring to say the least. 👍🙂
Thank you Danny, we appreciate your comments and if we inspire you, well then we did something right. Even more than entertaining and that's one of the best compliment you can give musicians . God bless you Danny. Feel free to check out all our vids from all the years we've been doing this. What started out as just jamming at our annual Neighborhood picnic turned into these fun shows with childhood friends. My first electric guitar I pulled out of someone's garbage can. And I brought it to Karnes music to get a bridge and strings for it. And the rest as they say ...
This is just so incredibly enjoyable to watch and listen to… great songs , perfectly played and a group of musicians that’s just having a blast playing music… could not be any better than this..
Excellent stuff lads.👏👏 I too have an older gentleman’ s band called OldPlay and we rehearse once a week - we call it Rock ‘n ‘Roll therapy. Great stuff I’ll be looking out for more videos. I’ll try and get my band to make a film clip for TH-cam.
A neighborhood located in the northern Chicago suburbs. I grew up with these guys and can attest to the fact that they’re in it solely for the love of music. Wish they could carry on with the picnics, but alas…😢
They move around plenty, when the mood calls for it. This was a particularly sentimental moment, and it would have been forced and fake to have them all dancing around. Make sense?
Yeah it's a bit trebly I think cuz of two electric guitars one a 12 string and the other w 12 string guitar pedal sounds a bit trebly, don't think jangly is the right word, but it's a friendlier word than trebly, lol but thanks 👍🎸
If you listen to the original recording, the lead in 12 string sounded like it was coming thru a transistor radio: that is the effect we were going for. Thanks for your input and attention to detail.
Nicely done, gentlement!
That's quite an undertaking to cover Pink Floyd. You gentlemen did it masterfully. Thanks.
Thanks Cajun, over the years we have done 5 or 6 Pink Floyd tunes
Great job. Great vocals.

Thanks Kelly. You have hit the nail right on the head. You’ve put to words what drives most folks to perform covers.
Thank you so much Kelly! Well said. You have captured the essence of what we are all about! You get us!
Wow we really appreciate your understanding of our goal. Most Musicians start learning an instrument for the love of music not for the money etc

Amazing performance. You can tell they like to be as close to the original songs as they can be!❤

The lead singer is unbelievably talented and the whole band sounds amazing.

So much heart and soul went into this song. A very fine tribute.
Killer, as usual. Every year, I wait for your new covers to come out. Thank you, for the dedication.

They were true to the song, great job.

Thanks for the comment G. They’ll have to pry the guitar nect from rigormortis induced grip. You are right great therapy.
Let us know when you post your clip, we'd like to see it. Thank you for your comments
It's a little thing, but I love how you put the wind effects in the outro
Thanks bro, used the plugin anamoog
GD! I wish a band like this would play in my neighborhood at a local park. I would be there with bells on.
Amazing band. Awesome 👏
What friggen neighborhood is this!!!

This was one of our tribute songs dedicated to our musical brother Matt Osterholt who passed away in 2022
condolences men.. RIP brother .. .
Oh WHAT?? This is the first I’ve heard of it! What happened to Matt?
Great job guys!!!! Where are you guys from?
Thanks so much! We originate from the northwest suburbs of Chicago.
@@NeighborhoodPicnicBand2023 You guys have talent! Thanks for the entertainment!
good job, guys
This one hurts...😢
Damn good cover. Everything was pretty much spot on. I wish that the keyboards were a bit stronger, they sounded a bit light.
When and where is your next picnic? I want an invite.
Well last year 2023 was our last show.
You guys could try moving a little bit? Music is stimulating.
This song was part of a 3 song tribute to a lifelong friend and member of the NPB who passed away. It was very emotional for us.
They move around plenty, when the mood calls for it. This was a particularly sentimental moment, and it would have been forced and fake to have them all dancing around. Make sense?
One of the guitars needs to be a bit deeper. It’s a bit jangley
Next time.... O yea, it's the only time we'll ever play it. 😁 once a year gig. New songs every year....

I LOVE jangly guitars! And I think it was spot on!
