Maria Callas sings Rossini: Una voce poco fa | NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra

Recording from 1959: "Primadonna assoluta" Maria Callas in concert with the then NDR Symphony Orchestra (today's NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra) at the Laeiszhalle Hamburg. One of the show pieces of that evening is sings Rosina's aria "Una voce poco fa" from Rossini's "Il barbiere di Siviglia".

I had a very old $1 CD from Music Warehouse of arias with no singer credits, & this is definitely the exact version on that CD. Only took me 20 years to find out.

Wunderschöne und lyrische live Aufführung dieser romantischen und fein komponierten Arie mit gut phrasierter und perfekt kontrollierter Stimme der unvergleichlichen Solistin sowie gut harmonisierten und perfekt entsprechenden Tönen aller Instrumente. Der intelligente und erfahrene Dirigent leitet das ausgezeichnete Orchester im gut analysierten Tempo und mit dramatischer Dynamik. Die Tonqualität ist auch erstaunlich hoch als eine live Aufnahme von zweiundsechzig Jahren vor. Alles ist wunderbar!

Thanks for the analysis, always a treat reading an account from someone who knows what they talking about. I guess the only thing I can add is if recorded with todays equipment it would have been even more uplifting.
