@@FleurPillager Masks, if worn properly (which can be done with proper education), greatly reduce the spread of COVID. Kids can, do and are getting and spreading COVID. While small, the rate of child hospitalizations and deaths is increasing (see Texas). If you live in an area with low vaccination rates for adults/school workers, and a high case rate... masks should 100% be required for kids. High school especially. The mistake was keeping kids out of school. THAT was the detriment to their well being. Masks are about as annoying and impactful as a school uniform. Sucks, there are some downsides, but it is NOT some blight on their existence.

Can I ask a question? Have you sat in a classroom for 8 hours a day. Trying to read, learn, write and so many other things as a little child. Two: have you looked at the percentage of deaths among children? It’s not many. There is knee 99 percent survival rate. This whole pandemic is a sick distraction. So….focus on building up in Jesus and prepare for death and judgment because that’s what matters most. Look at the way this world is turning?
You think living in fear is healthy? I support if people want to wear a mask when out in public if they want to feel comfortable having a layer of protection. But when we project fear, what are you teaching kids? Fear allows people to be easily controlled, you want children to be taught fear in mass VS them learning ways to protect themselves from various sources?

It's not a new conspiracy to take away freedoms -- this is something that even older republican leaders acknowledged would curve the dangers of a pandemic. In any case, freedom cannot exist without responsibility. It's the government that entrusts us with and protect the freedoms we benefit so much from. He was given two draconian alternatives, "be forced to stay home" or "be forced to wear a mask". Obviously an individual would choose the lesser of the two. It's dishonest to leave out other alternatives such as "be given the choice" and that is what he was wrestling with. He was troubled by "being forced to" do anything.

The parent that said “kids do not wear them properly”, ummmm when the parents acts like the mask is not needed then the kids are going to feel the same. Lead by example. Since day 1 I have made it important for the kids to see that I’m wearing a mask and wearing it properly. My kids could wear mask alllll day with no complaints. One of my children is asthmatic. No issues! My kids wear them even if all the other kids around them don’t. That’s because we tell them how important it is to protect themselves and others. Just wear your masks and your kids will follow suit! Geez. It’s not taking your rights away-it’s protecting those who can get very sick from this virus that we don’t know much about. It manifests differently in each individual case. Why take the risk? Be safe everyone… it’s not over yet. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

FYI I'm not saying don't take it seriously I'm stating that freedom is important.
If kids aren’t wearing them properly then they need to be taught how to wear them properly. Kids are taught things everyday. It’s not a big deal to teach your kids proper mask hygiene and proper way to wear a mask. If you don’t know then ask your kids doctor for help.

I teach 1st grade and these parents are so out of touch with reality and entitled. The mother who said children do not wear them properly and implied that children are so bothered by masks is incredibly off base. In my experience as a teacher, my 6 year old students do great properly wearing their masks and don't complain about them (it's the adults doing all the complaining). Sure, children may not properly wear their masks for their parents (clearly if she assumes children don't wear masks properly), but I promise with structure and high expectations at school, they are fine! Children are so much more resilient than a lot of their parents.
Children adapt easily. They are humble. They accept whatever they are taught. So the question is, are they being taught what is best for them? Have you considered that making them wear masks might actually be making some of them sicker?
@@ztodd LOL are you serious? I'll pretend that you're actually really that ignorant and answer your question - no, masks are not making them sicker.
