ironically, the harmonics were probably the easiest part of this, they're more forgiving than "normal" notes on a fretless

I remember when Davie first hired you for one of his videos, and it seems the student is now the TEACHER. I knew from the first time I saw you, that you weren't going to pass up that opportunity and it's awesome hearing you and about you randomly from other places than TH-cam is just awesome! I've seen the skill/ talent clarification a few times on threads like these, and I get it. But sometimes it becomes a debate over semantics. I don't think that the original commenter's point was to say that Charles is lucky that he can play as amazingly as he does. I think it was a comment on the fact that Charles can do mind blowing with a bass guitar. And that's a fact we ALL agree on.
Absolutely the best bassist I'll see in my lifetime. There's just no way around it at this point, the man's a proper unit.

the way you got your harmonics to ring out is insane.
The song on its own is on a completely different level but hearing you play it on a 6 string fretless bass adds a new dimension to it.
I always start watching out of general interest but am quickly mesmerized by how insanely talented and incredible Charles is at his craft.

I knew a bassist years ago who could play all these fancy things on bass like 2 handed tapping and stuff. He got the job for the band I wanted to try out for, after 1 practice they called me up and fired him because he couldn't play simple songs with a band.

For electric guitar maybe. Try a Solea from Paco de Lucia or Paco Pena and that would be immensely harder.
