Meta deck players are usually brainless, just NPCs that do the same couple of combos and moves, it’s not hard to beat them using some rouge shit, they can’t read so will probably waste their negates and misplay.

People say the brave token variant has some potential compared to pure. Your normal summons generally have effects you don't care to activate, and the gryphon protects you from handtraps. Should still get you to the same kind of end board I think.
It's much better as an engine than as a pure deck. It's a very consistent free negate evey turn to play around Nibiru easily. Maybe we'll combine Brave Tokens with other deck soon 😁
@@ExordiodelDuelista I think Brave Nordics are better than pure Nordics for sure. Probably still not a good deck, but you don't really miss out on anything by putting the Brave version in. I guess it's a good thing the Nordic normal summons mostly suck.
The fact that Nordics have become a talking point, and unironically being played against the meta is baffling to me. Konami's legacy support for Nordics has been legitimately good. They started as a packfiller anime deck with cards that barely synergized and boss monsters that aged like milk. Then they got a few bloated support cards that completely changed the playstyle. It was fragile and boring, but Gullveig made them far more consistent, and every Nordic monster suddenly became judged based on whether or not they add anything to her play. Now Nordics have more monsters with abilities that activate when their summoned by Gullveig and recycle each other. And they even got a spell and trap that gave them a healthy amount of defense and recovery. Their support is amazing, and one of the most forced things I've ever seen in yugioh. I've never seen Konami push legacy support this hard for an archetype that gets no press.

@@abshah8514 Yeah but only during your own Battle phase, which isn't really relevant. A monster with a Spell Speed 2 destruction effect would be a good addition to the archetype.
@@randomprofile5853 but a monster with a destruction effect doesn't fit the aesir theming... they like that sort of effect on their relics, not their monsters
@@abshah8514 There's still a lot of Norse Gods Konami can explore and there's probably one that can potentially represent destruction so it could fit it's effect. The negation relic is a good one there's also one Spell Speed 4 destruction relic but it's not enough nowadays.

As a seasoned Nordic player, I approve. Happy to see one of my favorite decks get some attention.
Nordics still seem like a complete one-trick pony, but at least they’re actually good at that trick now.
