yOU JUST MENTIONED WHAT I HAVE BEEN SAYING FOR YEARS!!!! LOOKING FOE A NATIONAL DRESS YET WE ARE A COLONIAL CONSTRUCT!!! YOU CAN ONLY HAVE AN AFRICAN DRESS FAMILIAR TO THE REGION..
Hmm! This is really thought provoking. For me the biggest threat to developing self awareness is boarding schools where conformity is promoted in order to manage kids.
No, it doesn't Kenyans routinely spent nearly 2 years between school and university and it has no effect. Self-awareness isn't triggered by any external stimuli.
Can you speak briefly on your President and his recent actions, particularly in Haiti. Maybe he is unaware of the deep and vital impact that the Haitian Revolution/Rebellion had on changing the course of slavery throughout the Americas. The Kenyan President is on the wrong side of history in regards to the African diaspora and the African world in general.
@11:00 about the logo plagiarism is very concerning. Though I still have my reservations about the lack of self identity being all doom and gloom, there’s a sliver of good that has come from being “ a cog in the machine” in the wider globalization of the world (case in point the safari tour guide “playing a role” to appeal to the taste of his customers). Kenya owes a great deal of its economical/geopolitical standing in part to the adoptable of its market economy to that of the world. Otherwise why haven’t any of the examples that you’ve mentioned, except for S.A , which have a strong “self identity” proof when it comes to of their success as a country. Or maybe, Dr youre no making a case for the success in terms of monetary value but rather pondering of the future of our country when it comes time to self actualize . And in that case I’d say, a large percentage of the population has to clear past their basic needs before we all start thinking as of our purpose as a people and a nation. I think we are on that path but time will tell the outcome.
You're one of those unfortunate souls who think Kenya is better than other independent African States? Pole sana. Either way, self-awareness isn't a luxury that comes with money.
Thank you for educating us and challenging us to be critical thinker of ourselves.

i agree i have such hard time defining myself since i started personal development journey the education system has shaped so much of our thinking
Powerful insight, I think it's a lack of self-awareness paired with a lack of self-esteem/self hate
