  • The company claims if lightning were to strike a home, it would hit the "air terminal," travel down an attached wire and into the ground, avoiding significant damage to the structure.

Why are they acting like this is some new idea? Lightning rods have been around since Benjamin Franklin proved lightning to be electricity.

I just found out what those old patina copper spikes with purple balls on my roof are. I have trees all over my house and I'm glad I did not take them off.

$1500 is a normal, expected cost. The rods and cables along the roof and sides of the home are not the only expense - most of the system is underground. And most installers also include a 'whole house surge protector' that is installed at the breaker panel. I have a system. It works. My house - situated on a hill overlooking water with few trees - takes hits all the time. I have not lost a single electronic device and there have been no fires. Can't say the same for some neighbors! LOL And the show that a strike puts on is awesome - plasma and sparks !

Great idea. Should be a code req IMO..but those tall trees near your home, will circumvent the LPS if not removed. ⚡⚡⚡

They ran the cable along the peak on the outside. Ok until u have to reshingle the roof.

Well I did mine myself and spent about 600 bucks. I would not have given that guy that much for that shotty ass job. Yea like I want wires ran along my roof and then where he came down the side of the house looks so tacky. I ran my wire in the attic and drilled up through the roof. Then I ran the wires down the side of the house through pvc fixed to the house. Looks like a professional job and I am in no way a professional. Bob Ross is a better painter than a lightning buster lmao.

Well done! At that price I imagine you used aluminum where feasible.
