I plan to keep the Passat as long as we can trust it not to strand us, because it remains the best-sized, best-configured car we have ever seen anywhere, with superb rearward/sideward visibility -- a true "home run product." With a lower center of gravity from the boxer engine and AWD, it tracks better and feel glued to a winding road. You have to drive one to understand this. The longer cargo area behind the second row is more useful than the higher cargo area in a SUV. I will never buy a SUV again.
SUVs are just expensive pieces of junk. Unless they are proper 4x4 Wagon. Like Japan’s land cruiser. Anyway wagons are just sedans but can do twice the work like haul stuff on the roof in the back and can be good for off roading like the all road wagon by Audi.

Just think about it for a minute, 98 percent of the fuel used is to move the massive weight of the vehicle and the other 2 percent moves the driver.
