I still don't understand how Michael Schenker ever composed this solo in the first place. It is otherworldly - the greatest piece of music in it's genre imo. Amazing playing - nobody ever has come as close to a note-for-note SITN Rock Bottom solo as this... not that I've EVER seen. Thanks for posting it to give the rest of us half a chance to learn it.
I have the Cherry Lane, UFO / MSG Music Tabulature Book from the 80s with the Live version of Rock Bottom! :)
He (MS) said he uses the amp resonance, the guitar, and how he feels to feel his way through. This solo from the live album, obviously used also his ability to create a harmony with the keyboard player to create one of the most magnificent duets in Rock. ( And this guy obviously covers it note-for-note )
Music to my 58 year old ears…. In High School back in 1981-82 our band covered this epic song along with many other UFO tunes but NEVER played any of the solos that followed the entire Strangers Solos as you during this cover…. My applause to you sir for practicing enough to get MSs completed Strangers solo and entire song in complete fashion. UFO tho very underrated and Shadowed by older brothers Scorpions and various bands like Priest and the like…. MS was one of my influences and idols in the late 1970s when Strangers came out and to this day is one of MS greatest live give to the World!! Thanks for your contribution!! Well done as always!!🎼🎸🎼🎸!!!

SATSUMA: I've been a hard-core Scorpions and MS fan since 1975 and I LOVE your MS videos! They're PHENOMENAL! I watch all of them over and over to improve my own technique. Anyone who casts a "thumbs down" on any of these videos either doesn't know an A string from a B string, isn't familiar with MS or is jealous of your knowledge and skill.

Dude! Totally nailed it my friend. Not only was it an excellent rendition of the greatest rock solo of all time, but you even found space for your own minor improvisations, which worked. Love this video and you managed to get a very authentic sound too. Thanks, I'm gonna practice a bit more now!

Just brilliant my friend. You are an amazing talent. One of my favorite guitar solos that makes me tear up is Lost Horizons (MSG) Live at Reading around 81 or 83. Anyway, give it a listen. It would be cool if you did some Uli too. You probably already have. I loved your Yngwie covers too.
