Thanks for the guide! Works perfectly. One crucial step I missed in the past was downloading and copying over the 3 files from the optional files section on Rudy ENB. Without that step, the game would still look vanilla.
What files are those? My game looks like Vanilla with slightly better lighting. I've tried reinstalling multiple times, had no problem using NAT 3 for Rudy but I can't seem to install this one properly.

Holy butts, dude. I cannot tell you how many times and how many different presets I've tried to follow the instructions for, only for it to end in a completely unplayable, usually high contrast or washed out result. Thank you so much for making this video. I don't use MO2, but I was able to follow regardless, and it has made all the difference. I really wish there were more straightforward instructions to follow on the preset pages sometimes, but I get it, it's a lot of effort to go to.

Great tutorial, if anyone has their game simply never start and just constantly be stuck 'not responding' as I did try these two things. Firstly, wait a minute for it to load, then wait a few more. If it doesn't start running, uninstall and disable all lux related stuff. Removing all Lux stuff sorted it out for me and now I can play.

Literally followed this step for step, watched it fully 2 times before starting anything, and its just crashing as soon as i hear the very first drum beat for the game. This ENB stuff was so easier 3 to 4 years ago, what is bethesda doing to this game
@@nightwind5738 search for SSE Engine Fixes - Modified TOML, and manually replace the file in SSE Engine Fixes. Make sure SSE Engine Fixes is near the top of your load order. Dont give up, there are a lot of posts and threads online about this specific issue. If worst comes to worst, uninstall EVERY trace of skyrim (search up how to do this), mod manager 2 and all your mods, then reinstall skyrim and try downloading, installing and patching SSE Engine fixes after you install its dependancies. It will be easier to fix issues with it when you have a clean game and mod manager

Thanks buddy. Yeah dynDOLOD is usually a cluster F becuase it has to run multiple times after you install certain mods thats why its best to be left alone till you have almost finished creating your mod list so you dont have to rerun it alot. Ill see about doin this one in the future well see...
Mannn I did everything correctly and my game just crashes before it even fully starts up lol. I can hear the first beat of the drums that play when the game home screen loads then it crashes 💀 Any fix? Promise I did everything right EDIT: I'm so sorry ignore that. My dumbass forgot to Install Lux VIA. I searched it up in my vortex and it said "never installed" and it was just sitting there lmfAO so my bad. It works now! For those who are puzzled by some of caves missing textures, Lux Orbis might have enabled by default an SMIM option, therefore deleting original texture waiting for an SMIM to take it's place.
Clicked a lot videos to install these mods and failed. I am a beginner and had never installed any mods , follow your video and make it done!!! Thanks!

You can try installing ENB Lights, but this mod is highly outdated and there are no update plans. Installing this mod can give you blue textures on objects, it is a pain to get working and when u think everything is fine, you will still find blue textured objects in some places. Firstly THANK YOU for this video, Have been struggling trying to mod skyrim for the first time and wanted a nice looking ENB that didnt hurt my eyes and this was a winner for me to follow! Um can i ask how you got over 60fps? i would love to get 120fps lol.
So i skipped enb light cuz its very hard to get enb light to function properly and play nice with other mods. You can always give it a shot, but for most plp I would say its not worth the time.
OG Rudy Enb look way better and FPS friendly :') i remember i can play it on 60fps with Nvidia 970 with 8gigs of RAM, Now its impossible to achieve such FPS with nowadays ENB on Skyrim SE edition.
Followed the directions as close as I could. Some mods like the patches for lux were not available and Water for ENB said something about needing Shades of Skyrim or something but other than that I followed to a tea and I'm having a problem. When I go to run SKSE through MO2 I get a pop up saying the following " REL/Relocation.h(718): Failed to locate an appropriate address library with path: Data/SKSE/Plugins/versionlib-1-5-97-0.bin This means you are missing the address library for this specific version of the game. Please continue to mod page for address library to download an appropriate version. if one is not available, then its likely that address library has not yet added support for this version of the game." I have been at this for two days and I don't know what to do at this point. Any tips or solutions?
i followed your guides and for the most part its all working but i have a blue line around come of the rugs and in the caves the ledges are outlined with the same blue and im not sure whats causing it to try and fix it any suggestions?
It's strange, everything was working fine with ASLAL before any of the ENB mods, but after installing everything the same as you did, with the exception of a couple files which are no longer available in the latest version, Alternate Start does not work at all with every mod enabled, but there's no conflicts present. Any time I start a new game I get the generic opening. I've tried reinstalling both Alternate Start and USSEP to no avail, any thoughts to the cause of this issue?
@@adrienroman8979 So I actually ended up figuring it out, it was an issue with SSE Engine fixes, you need to disable “enable achievements” otherwise it will override all your mods to enable achievements, which mods don’t allow.
@@adrienroman8979 yeah if that doesn’t work you can just remove sse engine fixes all on its own too, as I did that as well and haven’t seen any major issues

Everything in my MO2's Plugins tab gets disabled when I start a new game if I launch from skse64_loader and I get no mods. I can't use SkyUI if I launch from SkyrimSE.exe. What's the problem?
Hi, does this method work with the FUS wabbajack package for Skyrim VR ? It used to be included but due to personal disagreements between the authors it is no longer included.
When i install the unofficial creation content patch it gets installed as an empty mod... help :c. I use the individual option since i disabled the dlc for content creation club. But i still have survival mode and fishing the base stuff. I get the "no valid game data" x inside a square under flags. Merged works but i dont have all the dlc for creation club. This is confusing
I came across an issue following your guide step by step. You see how your mcm enb manager is like a square at the top left? i have that multipled across my screen but its not the manager its just my game, like my game itself is multipled in box form going from top left corner down and i have no visual movement of my game. Its just like a picture with waviness around it HALP T.T. Also missing masters for lux legacy of the dragonborn apparently
Help please. im new to modding. i downgrade my SE to 1.5.97 and did this.. using vortex, after everything i tried to lunch the game. and it wont let me, it keeps saying "Engine fixes dll" -Re/Relocation file failed to open 567. i dont know what to do now. please help me
hey ive got everything working but certain spots in caves or under carpets are a blue material instead of actual cave material or carpet is there a fix for this its like a blue material instead
Looking at the file sizes just for the ENB requirements, I can definitely see why an enb would be impossible on Xbox Series X. The Xbox Series X version of the game doesn't allow for such big file sizes and the way these ENB mods are made wouldn't work at all on console sadly.
I don't seem to get the shaders menu come up when you activate the enb settings ingame, so i cant turn off the letterboxing. Cant remember if i closed it by accident, is there a way to get it back in the menu again?
Yeah I've noticed that sometimes its turned off by default took me a min the first time to figure it. All you have to do is checkmark the "Show Shaders Window" on the left most menu under "enbseries.ini" and your good to go!
@CactusBagel1979 thanks. That solved it. There are soo many options snd subcategories that it's so easy to miss. I did manage to solve it another way by editing the ini file outside of the game
Mine crashes on startup when Luex is installed so i skip the Lux and just install the rudy enb i have a 5600xt gpu my fps is between drops to 50fps+ openworld and 60fps+ dungeons.
I don't know what's going on with things for me. I've more or less followed the video I have display tweaks and Skyrim Priority SE AE. Before ENB installed 60 FPS, after ENB installed 50-60 FPS. I've tried going through actual computer settings to see what was going on there and really nothing I did changed anything.
yeah i have like max 35 fps with gtx 1660 super, in my opinion it's not worth to play with enb in my situation, but guide is very good thx i always had problem with installing enb.
what is about other lightning mods ? like LUX or something im spending 3 days for trying to install a ENB ( Rudy ENB for cathedral ... ) + all the mods i need but i dont know wich have to follow wich one or wich i have to install first etc. im close to give up
don't use alternate start it requires so many patches to work with other mods, instead type "coc riverwood" in the console from the main menu and you will instantly be transported to riverwood
I did not install ENB light for this tutorial. ENB light is mess and is no longer supported. Most of the time when trying to install this mod it gives you blue textures on objects and while some can be fixed others still don't get fixed. And sometimes the fixes are not easy to get working. All I can say is read and reread all the steps to try and get the mod to work. Otherwise I would save your self the headache and not use the mod at all. LUX is a very good substitute for ENB light.
I had the same problem but I figured it out. SSE Engine Fixes is broken since the last update. You need this "SSE Engine Fixes - Modified .toml File Only For SSE v1.6.1130"

@@Boneless_Frog_Meat Getting this to work was exhausting. I just checked my game again and it seems to be running fine. Also opened the inventory and no crash. So I'm using Mod Organizer 2 and the file above fixes a problem where after crashing all of your plugins get disabled and you have to keep re-enabling them. It also stopped the crashing BUT after all of that I'm only getting 30 fps!! I'm running the game at 4k so that doesn't help. 4k is just so glorious I can't bring myself to drop the resolution. I'm considering ditching the enb and trying something else... reshade, weather mod, I dunno.
I have no idea what that is lol, I would try deleting all things related to the ENB and install them all over again, its a bummer to have to do it all over again but its nice when its all said and done!
All Good working but Alternate Start not working for new game. Also when i use ESC button closes game. I did everything same with you. I dont get it what is wrong atm
I would deff suggest using MO2, I haven't used Vortex in a long time and the last thing I remember is that it doesn't keep your Skyrim files separate like MO2 does and doesn't have the features like the ability to add SKSE and loot as launchers in the program. Hope this helps and good luck on your modding. ;)
Ok gotcha so it does have the launching features good to know. What I mean about the files being separate is that the skyrim game files will never be changed or touched. MO2 uses a separate folder system that does not change the actual games files so your skyrim game will always stay in tacked so that you dont have to reinstall skyrim again if something isnt working right while your modding and you want to delete or stop using the mods you have installed. @@francescocafiero2824
i have a weird bug, where i have the enb installed right. but in the game and on the home screen the game flickers, it goes to the preset. then it goes back to normal game, and i have never encountered this problem before,
Hmm, I havent seen this issue before. The only thing I can suggest is to redownload the ENB from the ENB devs site and the Rudy enb mod files that go into your game folder and then go into your game folder and delete the enb mod files d3d11.dll and d3dcompiler_46e.dll. The delete the enbseries folder, enblocal.ini and the enbseries.ini from the Rudy ENB mod and reinstall both of them. And make sure your skyrimprefs.ini and skyrim.ini settings are correct. Hopefully this fixes it.
damn ive been followin this guide since yesterday... its really well explained but i just cant seem to get it to work. the only times i do someting else is withe legacy of the dragonborn patch as i dont have that mod and i also cant find it the patch. My game always starts with vanilla start now (even tho the mod worked yesterday) and loot says the unofficial patch isnt installed nor activated (which isnt true) frames are capped at 59 wihtout the enb setup and now at 23 (i have an old pc so that doesnt really surprise me) and the game runs fine but when i press esc it crashes. imma try again tomorrow
@@CactusBagel1979 I was able to figure it out! For some reason when I launched the game it would on check every mod I had, so I looked it up and I found out how to get it to not do that, it had something to do with achievements being enable

Its very likely your SSE Engine Fixes. Go find a patch or two for it, I had the same problem and it managed to worked after patching SSE Engine Fixes.

Also, ENB light is listed as a requirement but you didn't go over that and it was in your load order.

The game cannot fullscreen in-game somehow it works on the menu though,theres a blackscreen on the top and bottom please help

@@adrienroman8979 So I actually ended up figuring it out, it was an issue with SSE Engine fixes, you need to disable “enable achievements” otherwise it will override all your mods to enable achievements, which mods don’t allow.

@@adrienroman8979 yeah if that doesn’t work you can just remove sse engine fixes all on its own too, as I did that as well and haven’t seen any major issues
Question: is LUX necessary for this? And also, why the instruction to get the Legacy of the Dragonborn Patch? Do we need it even if we don't have or want LoTD?

Everything in my MO2's Plugins tab gets disabled when I start a new game if I launch from skse64_loader and I get no mods. I can't use SkyUI if I launch from SkyrimSE.exe. What's the problem?
Hi, does this method work with the FUS wabbajack package for Skyrim VR ? It used to be included but due to personal disagreements between the authors it is no longer included.
When i install the unofficial creation content patch it gets installed as an empty mod... help :c. I use the individual option since i disabled the dlc for content creation club. But i still have survival mode and fishing the base stuff. I get the "no valid game data" x inside a square under flags. Merged works but i dont have all the dlc for creation club. This is confusing
I came across an issue following your guide step by step. You see how your mcm enb manager is like a square at the top left? i have that multipled across my screen but its not the manager its just my game, like my game itself is multipled in box form going from top left corner down and i have no visual movement of my game. Its just like a picture with waviness around it HALP T.T. Also missing masters for lux legacy of the dragonborn apparently

Looking at the file sizes just for the ENB requirements, I can definitely see why an enb would be impossible on Xbox Series X. The Xbox Series X version of the game doesn't allow for such big file sizes and the way these ENB mods are made wouldn't work at all on console sadly.
Not sure if you'll ever see this, but will there be a graphic mod video anytime soon for characters and environment?? Or animations setup???

I don't seem to get the shaders menu come up when you activate the enb settings ingame, so i cant turn off the letterboxing. Cant remember if i closed it by accident, is there a way to get it back in the menu again?
Yeah I've noticed that sometimes its turned off by default took me a min the first time to figure it. All you have to do is checkmark the "Show Shaders Window" on the left most menu under "enbseries.ini" and your good to go!
@CactusBagel1979 thanks. That solved it. There are soo many options snd subcategories that it's so easy to miss. I did manage to solve it another way by editing the ini file outside of the game

Mine crashes on startup when Luex is installed so i skip the Lux and just install the rudy enb i have a 5600xt gpu my fps is between drops to 50fps+ openworld and 60fps+ dungeons.
I don't know what's going on with things for me. I've more or less followed the video I have display tweaks and Skyrim Priority SE AE. Before ENB installed 60 FPS, after ENB installed 50-60 FPS. I've tried going through actual computer settings to see what was going on there and really nothing I did changed anything.
The only thing I can think of is I can't change the refresh rate on my monitor.
yeah i have like max 35 fps with gtx 1660 super, in my opinion it's not worth to play with enb in my situation, but guide is very good thx i always had problem with installing enb.

im spending 3 days for trying to install a ENB ( Rudy ENB for cathedral ... ) + all the mods i need but i dont know wich have to follow wich one or wich i have to install first etc. im close to give up

idk why but when I launch SKSE after the isntallation of everything, all my plugins turns off. someone know how to make this thing not happen ?
don't use alternate start it requires so many patches to work with other mods, instead type "coc riverwood" in the console from the main menu and you will instantly be transported to riverwood
So my downloaded vortex mods are not showing up in mo2 ;(

I did not install ENB light for this tutorial. ENB light is mess and is no longer supported. Most of the time when trying to install this mod it gives you blue textures on objects and while some can be fixed others still don't get fixed. And sometimes the fixes are not easy to get working. All I can say is read and reread all the steps to try and get the mod to work. Otherwise I would save your self the headache and not use the mod at all. LUX is a very good substitute for ENB light.
I’ve followed you step by step but it crashes. I can load up the menu but when I press new game or continue it exits itself out.
I had the same problem but I figured it out. SSE Engine Fixes is broken since the last update. You need this "SSE Engine Fixes - Modified .toml File Only For SSE v1.6.1130"

@@Boneless_Frog_Meat Getting this to work was exhausting. I just checked my game again and it seems to be running fine. Also opened the inventory and no crash. So I'm using Mod Organizer 2 and the file above fixes a problem where after crashing all of your plugins get disabled and you have to keep re-enabling them. It also stopped the crashing BUT after all of that I'm only getting 30 fps!! I'm running the game at 4k so that doesn't help. 4k is just so glorious I can't bring myself to drop the resolution. I'm considering ditching the enb and trying something else... reshade, weather mod, I dunno.

I have no idea what that is lol, I would try deleting all things related to the ENB and install them all over again, its a bummer to have to do it all over again but its nice when its all said and done!

I would deff suggest using MO2, I haven't used Vortex in a long time and the last thing I remember is that it doesn't keep your Skyrim files separate like MO2 does and doesn't have the features like the ability to add SKSE and loot as launchers in the program. @@CactusBagel1979 actually it has indeed. I can launch skse, nemesis/fnis, loot, wyre brash, dyndolod etc.. from the tools bar.
Could i ask you what do you mean while saying that mo2 keeps files separates. Sorry I’m completely new to modding :)
Ok gotcha so it does have the launching features good to know. What I mean about the files being separate is that the skyrim game files will never be changed or touched. MO2 uses a separate folder system that does not change the actual games files so your skyrim game will always stay in tacked so that you dont have to reinstall skyrim again if something isnt working right while your modding and you want to delete or stop using the mods you have installed. @@francescocafiero2824

i have a weird bug, where i have the enb installed right. but in the game and on the home screen the game flickers, it goes to the preset. then it goes back to normal game, and i have never encountered this problem before,
Hmm, I havent seen this issue before. The only thing I can suggest is to redownload the ENB from the ENB devs site and the Rudy enb mod files that go into your game folder and then go into your game folder and delete the enb mod files d3d11.dll and d3dcompiler_46e.dll. The delete the enbseries folder, enblocal.ini and the enbseries.ini from the Rudy ENB mod and reinstall both of them. And make sure your skyrimprefs.ini and skyrim.ini settings are correct. Hopefully this fixes it.
damn ive been followin this guide since yesterday... its really well explained but i just cant seem to get it to work. the only times i do someting else is withe legacy of the dragonborn patch as i dont have that mod and i also cant find it the patch. My game always starts with vanilla start now (even tho the mod worked yesterday) and loot says the unofficial patch isnt installed nor activated (which isnt true) frames are capped at 59 wihtout the enb setup and now at 23 (i have an old pc so that doesnt really surprise me) and the game runs fine but when i press esc it crashes. imma try again tomorrow
Why is it so complicated to install one damn mod for visuals, like I just want better visuals and it's always a pain in the ass to install these mods.

If your referring to the esp plugin on the right pane. This is required for the mod to work.
@@CactusBagel1979 I was able to figure it out! For some reason when I launched the game it would on check every mod I had, so I looked it up and I found out how to get it to not do that, it had something to do with achievements being enable
