Hello, my friend! It's true, believe me, it helped a lot with evaporation. It doesn't look like it, but that opening allows a lot of water to evaporate. Since I put it in, I've hardly noticed any water loss.
Hello my friend! Are you talking about sliding the rotor or removing its cover to access the impeller? I find it more difficult to remove the cover, but with practice it's easy.
@@PSKaqua The cover! I have the 55 and just love it and recommend it as much as possible... But that cover, yeesh, lol! As a female with smaller hands, it's difficult to grip and pull down with one hand. In fact, that's how I came to you vid, I had to do it today so I was looking for tips. But, today I was able to wedge a little small flathead in it and managed to get it. I love everything but that with mine. Thankfully, I don't have to do it often, but I always struggle and wish my hand could fit it better to pull down.
@@PSKaqua Each time, it's still the same struggle honestly. But at least now I know about it ahead of time and find my little screwdriver to help. Hello my friend!!! I really appreciate your comment. I am very happy to have been able to help. I make my videos for just that, and when someone is helped with them it makes me want to keep doing it.
This is a useful video in terms of getting a good idea about how to approach cleaning a Tidal filter. I currently have both a Tidal 35 and a Quietflow on a 29 gallon, and will make use of this information when doing cleanings. My main issue currently is that my Tidal filter is almost (or perhaps even is) touching the wall due to problems with the stand's location, as well as limitations with the current hood. It does not seem to be affecting the filter's operation, however.
Hello my friend!!! Thank you very much for the comment.... There is no problem for the filter because it is touching the wall. The problem is if the wall gets scratched. 😁 My 3 tidal were touching the wall and I never had a problem.
Hello my friend!!! Sorry for the huge delay in responding. I've been a bit away from social media and the PSK aqua project, but I'm slowly making a comeback. In response to your comment, for which I thank you very much, I'm not sure if I understood your question, but from what I understood I say that I put a sponge at the bottom of the basket, bags with as many biological mideas as I can and at the end, but it is not mandatory, I put filter wool.
I am opening up my new box here this is the first time I’ve ever use this filter and I do not see the sock light thing you place over the end of the telescope like tube. Where on earth do I get one of these and what is it for other than filtration purposes?
This filter is fabulous, I often say that the tidal 110 is a "canister killer". Sorry, I didn't understand what you were saying about the blue light sock.
I’m unsure where to get the sock like black foam cover you place over the filter end. Will you kindly let me know why you do this and where you had gotten the black foam cover? Also, I noticed you put a lot of foam down and also stones in the filter canister. Would you kindly let me know what stones and filter foam you used and why you are doubling up on both? Tia
Thank you very much my friend!!! I've been thinking about buying an aquaclear 110 instead of the Tidal ones, but I ended up buying these. Maybe the aquaclear wouldn't be as visible in the aquarium as the Tidal ones are, but that's it, now I have to put up with the black boxes inside the aquarium. 😅 In my opinion I think you are very good at having an aquaclear, they are also very good.
Hey PSK I have 2 Tidal 110s on my 100g acrylic ( semi over stocked ) all male Peacock Cichlid tank turning 900 gals an hour. Like to use carbon as one of the layers of media. Water is crystal clear all the time. Tidal is a great product. Thanks for the vid...

I would think you would only want to do a cleaning like this maybe 2 or 3 times a year. Doesn't need deep cleaning every mth but to each their own. And why not reuse the sponges? You just threw away beneficial bacteria. Thats the point of sponges. Unless you would rather just use cartridges in another model so you can just throw them away?
