A game story pitch: Mario and Cappy, having powered the Odyssey up further, decide to take it out for a casual fly around their local galaxy when--to Mario's considerable shock--they run into a badly damaged Comet Observatory abandoned in the middle of space. Rosalina is nowhere to be found, only scattered and scared Lumas who are wondering where their Mama had gone. After Mario catches Cappy up on the lore of the Observatory and who Rosalina is, the two set off and manage to recover the first of the ship's missing Grand Stars and use it to restore the Observatory to working condition. Then for the rest of the game, they travel to different galaxies to recover the rest of the Grand Stars and solve the mystery of what has happened to Rosalina.
Would've been amazing if Odyssey had a secret where you actually came across the Comet Observatory, and Rosalina rewarded you the true last moon, #1000 for digging this deep into the game. _Maybe it is, and we just haven't found it yet. :)_

This mashup is so much nostalgia from so many different angles I can’t handle it! We need a gusty cascade galaxy in Mario galaxy 3 or Mario odyssey 2.

Hearing some of the best songs from two of, if not my all time favorite Mario games so far (It's a tie between these games), in this level of charm...it's just magical. The way I think of it, given Nintendo's past history with 3D Mario games and how every console since the Wii (maybe even the GameCube had Mario 64 2 not been cancelled back in the day) had access to a total of 3 different games with the help of backwards compatibility (I know Switch doesn't have it, but ports help), and given how Metoird Prime 4, Luigi's Mansion 3, and the Pikmin games could all be used for evidence... This game is more likely than you may think.

I don’t know how you did it but it sounds great. Super Mario Galaxy and Odyssey are similar enough games. And I always thought the two songs you mashed up are similar instrumentation anyway, and Good Egg Galaxy is similar instrumentation too to each of them but that doesn’t really matter. Anyway, two of my favorite games and they have great music and they were each the first to produce a certain music. Super Mario Galaxy was the first with orchestra music and Odyssey was the first with a vocal theme.
i can't believe Mario Odyssey is almost 7 years old, it's like it came out a month ago, i'm sure that if Nintendo is even planning a third game for Mario Galaxy, it'll be the sequel for Odyssey, i think Luma and Cappy can be a great duo and this could surpass any other Mario game in existence.

Looking at the luma holding Mario’s hat makes me think. What if Cappy became Mario’s hat again, with the luma hiding underneath? I imagine they would end up as a nice duo, with Mario being able to jump on Cappy and luma comes out to give Mario a spin jump to gain a little extra distance.
I’ve been thinking about a game that Nintendo should make for a while. And the game is called Super Mario Odyssey 2: The Return Of The Galaxy and they should use this song
i imagine the merchandise for this would be an observatory model, a sticker of GGG with the observatory in the background, a luma lamp that floats around the moon model from MK, and a minature grand star floating in or around the globe

I'm hoping they do this one day, either as a free dlc or payed. Observatory has a landing pad, I'm hoping maybe that'll be the premise for Mario galaxy 3!
I would love if they made Galaxy 3! Sadly, I know they would return to the linear style of Galaxy 2 instead of Galaxy 1, which was overall more open and not particularly linear. Galaxy 2 was a glorified mix of Galaxy 1s mechanics with 3D World design philosophy, which I didn’t like as much. Galaxy 1 was its own thing honestly.
