Can we have a mini-series with this medium please? My personal religious/spiritual beliefs are more 'Abrahamic', but it's still interesting to learn about how other religions and faiths tackle the issue of the supernatural and the paranormal. Can the next interview with him be about 'possession' and his views and commentary on how this is portrayed in shows and movies?
Whenever I had to be hospitalised, I dreaded the night because I'd see spirits everywhere. One time I had trouble walking down the hallway, I felt like I was being held back by invisible hands. When I told a nurse about it, she said it was a former Doctor who liked to hang around in that particular spot. She then said she could see my Father standing beside me. She freaked me out because I never talked about his passing when I was in the hospital.
Thanks SCMP and Lawrence~ I just watched this quality and excellently described video. The Ghost Festival in July has this thousands of years of tradition.🙌👏👏👏 Too real~ Wish there were more related topics
In Melbourne, there are old architectural landmarks with long-standing ghost stories. The guy's explanations are very pleasant and easy to understand. He must have more stories and professional sharing to make another video. Please arrange for him again. I highly recommend it.
👻👻👻Wow, it’s already the Ghost Festival these days. Master Lawrence should be asked to tell more stories about the spiritual world, taboos, treatment techniques, etc... This interview clip is really too short (the topic of psychics has always been what we are most interested in around the world, and he really expressed it well )
"Kan Kwai" (bad guys in Cantonese) is the most scary kwai. As Tony Leung Chiu-wai once joked to his wife Carina Lau when she asked him which kind of kwai is the most scary one ?
Yesterday morning at about 7am, I also saw the shadows of ghosts all over the street on the side of the road in Tai Kok Tsui. At that time, under the brown sky and the tear-like yellow rain, they seemed to be looking for something while walking... Okay Ask your senior Lawrence?
Clearly, the person writing the subtitles does not understand what ‘lunar calendar’ means. “Seventh month of the lunar calendar” ≠ July How can such a basic mistake happen???
@@geinikan1kan July is the seventh month in the solar calendar. But the sheer fact that we now have mid-August as the HGF approaches should have prompted the subtitles writer to realise something was wrong in their translation.
@@geinikan1kan Did you even watch the video? The subtitles DIDN’T say “Seventh month” they mistakenly said July. I was the one commenting on that. Now you try to act as if you had to explain it to me. Which I guarantee you, you don’t.
@@venanziadorromatagni1641 yes and by July they meant the 7th lunar month. It’s a choice. It might not be clear but in Chinese the seventh month is July. Months are numerated.
Maybe all the hospital doctors and staff will pray daily for a smooth and safe working day. I think they have encountered wandering spirits around the hospital regardless if it's the 7th Lunar Month.

Yes the Chinese Comnunist Party has a rule that all its members must be atheist. This is because according to communist ideology, the priest class has used religion to manipulate the lower working classes into giving them undeserved power. But the Chinese government understood that such beliefs will not simply disappear overnight. So they tolerate it but if you want to be part of the new upper class, the party members, you’re not allowed to believe in all this nonsense. It’s ironic that the original communist goal was to create a classless society where everyone is a worker of the government and everything is shared equally. But in every single country that became communist, the government officials essentially replaced the old aristocrats and live much better than the peasants who work on farms or in factories. Anyway China’s not even really communist anymore.

Is it just me or Cantonese language sounds beautiful on the ears?
It's just you. It is boorish and uncouth compared to Mandarin.
Agree. Cantonese sounds aloy better than mandarin.
Shanghainese sounds the best
No 😅
Definitely. Cantonese sounds much more pleasing compared to Putonghua
Great to hear SCMP celebrate local HK traditions.
hungry ghost festival is not unique to HK though
@@hehe-mq2bk true but each locality celebrates it differently.

Really interesting how his ideas of ghosts aligns a lot with what western mediums say. Wouldn’t mind seeing more of him.
