I've especially enjoyed the fact that you've been adding the "refusal" footage to this one. It shows how much motivation and confidence it takes to go out on the streets and approach perfect strangers. Only showing smiling faces and people who eagerly answer your questions makes it feel like it's all fun and games, but it isn't! Good job, Sam! ))
The answers were not surprising to me at all. In fact, they were exactly as expected. I'm not surprised that "lies" was the dominate answer. To have Russian friends, honesty really is the best policy. Russians (and us part Russians) have built-in lie detectors. When I first met the Russians I know, I was kind of nervous because in the US lying is almost a past-time and I have never liked it anyway. People here are also very closed-minded and closed hearted. However, my Russian friends and acquaintances after a short time showed me that I have nothing to fear in being completely honest and open like I do with Americans. It is the fear of harsh judgement partly. I discovered that Russians don't do that on the fly. Russians are very open and accepting if you are the same with them. Now my best friend and I have literally no secrets from each other, good, bad, or otherwise. It is quite liberating to be able to trust someone without fear that they will burn you. That is how I feel with all the Russians I have met and it ends up being reciprocal. Russians want everyone to have good lives. (If I could only convince Americans of that, but that is a tall order). As for cameras, yeah, many Russians are nervous around cameras (for good reason). I am very nervous around them and can't even film myself if my life depended on it. It is not a power trip. As you experienced, turn the camera off and you end up in lovely conversation. I'm pretty sure that girl did not really say to remove the camera in impolite fashion. Russians tend to be rather shy anyway at first, that has been my experience. I'm too shy to walk up and start a conversation, but I try to at least say hello and the one surprising thing is that Russians, especially Russian women are also very quick reads, They can detect friend or foe in seconds. In my experience, they somehow detect "friend" with me and will at very least say hello back. I note that almost all the people who said "nyet" to you still had a friendly face or smile, which is basically shyness or nervousness. I bet most of those who said "no" would be "yes" without the camera. We are all human and everything, but there is just something slightly special about Russians and other Slavic people. Maybe it is their manners or something? I know I learned a lot about myself through my Russians friends as well. As for Russian foods I have tried. When I was young I tried Borscht (may grandparents made of course), but did not like it and still don't. They also made Blintzes, but gave us kids plain ones. I liked them, but have never had the complete form of them. What I really loved was the Russian chicken salad sandwiches my grandmother made for picnics. I can't seem to replicate them. I used to watch her make them, everything was from scratch. There are many different Russian chicken salad, it depends on the region. Those are the only ones I remember having. My grandparents did not make all that many traditional Russian food for us kids for some reason. Later though, about a year ago, I found a Russian deli in my area. (You should have seen how excited I got at that discovery)! When I walked in the first time there was a girl behind the counter that looked like my best friend! It startled me. It turns out that she has many of the same traits and philosophies as my best friend. I tried a couple of Pockets a couple of Piroshkies and a chicken salad. I did not care for the chicken salad, it was very different from my grandmother's. I liked the Piroshkies and pockets, but I would not make a habit of them as they are a bit much to me. I still need to try their Blintzes and Pelmeni yet. What was really fun was when I said "thank you" in Russian. They got so surprised and excited. It is owned by a husband and wife and she came out of the kitchen and the girl behind the counter (whom I think is the granddaughter) and even the chef came out and started talking with me and everything. I was given some free Russian lessons and "encouraged" by them to keep studying. The chef was super shy and speaks only one word of English I think, but even he was engaged through interpretation. I then said a couple more short phrases, all I knew and it was excitement everywhere. It doesn't take much! Then I told them about my grandparents and got "I knew it, I can tell" from them. My best friend was the same way, as well as a couple of my other Russian acquaintances, they all told me I am at least part Russian before I even said anything about it! Very strange, how can they tell? I go to a local vinyl record fair and one time there was this guy selling some records that happened to be Russian (I could tell when he spoke) and I walked up and said hello in Russian and it surprised him and he insisted on giving me a record for free. We talked a bit more as well and he told me what life was like where he is from.
Hi mate. Interesting to read your comment and about the foods and the deli. I think chicken salad is probably a home made thing that your grandmother made because I’ve never heard of any specific chicken salad here in Russia. Potato salad is popular and it often has ветчина which is like a ham sausage in it. The salad is called Olivia. The other food you mentioned too I have never heard of either. Did you mean Blini? To be honest I’m not that big on Russian food! I like specific things. With regards to people asking me not to film, it’s those who ask me after I’ve already filmed them which is annoying and this isn’t just about Russian people.
To have ruzzian friends? Really, you see how they are treating their so called "brothers"? By r***** and murdering their children in cold blood and then celebrate it on national TV? How they openly threaten entire world with extinction even by nuking everyone? Ruzzia has never been open and accepting and never has been in the side of good. Are these all just random beautiful girls out walking around, or are you choosing them? On a couple occasions, I have made the mistake of congratulating a woman on her pregnancy and been mistaken. Never again!
There's a lot of vlog/youtubers asking political questions related to politics. In a few cases, the person being interviewed was tracked down, arrested and faced serious charges. I think this is why people are hesitant to talk to him. He should precede everything with, "this is not a political question...."
I try to choose girls who are not with a man because often the man won’t allow me to speak to the women. I’m fine with people not wanting to be filmed, just say “no thanks”
I ate in a restaurant in St. Petersburg called Northern Capital. It was FANTASTIC. Even the butter for dinner rolls was carved into roses. Never saw or ate better food.
Love it. Only in your videos do you find all the most beautiful women. do you have a t-shirt saying ' pick me pick me ' )))) well done Sam another great one
Speaking of being interviewed, waaaaaay back in time when the Monica Lewinsky scandal was taking place, I was randomly walking down 6th Avenue in NYC when, first, a British news team stopped me and asked me some questions, then, on the other side of the same block, a Russian team did the same thing (with a very attractive Russian woman doing it, of course). I was more than happy to talk into a microphone and look into a camera and give my opinions. I don't quite understand why people might be offended. If the same thing happened now and it was just a TH-camr instead of a news agency, I'd still be thrilled.
Some people don’t want to talk and that’s fine, it’s those who are pretending to be really confident and cool who are usually really shy and so they are rude to try and hide it.

@@hblock8361 what is wrong with that? Lies are published in western media and bring wars. So it's normal to hate lies even because of wars they create.

It takes a lot of nerve to just walk up to strangers on the street with a camera and not have a PRESS vest on. I believe most of them were dishonest in their answers because when people have to stop and think, it means their lying and making up the answer. Hate was perhaps too strong a word in Russia. Perhaps you should asked what do they dislike most in life? Of course, I can say first hand from living there, every women complains about the same two things, not enough money to live, and men drinking and being drunk. But they are not going to say this in front of your camera when the man is standing next to them.
I think most people will remember that last thing that go them really angry or hurt them. It’s interesting about men drinking too much because I wouldn’t say that it’s a massive thing anymore. My friends drink on special occasions, so a couple of times each month. I personally used to drink twice a week but almost never drink now.
I think it's better to live in poverty and with a drinking husband than with a liar. a poor and drinking person can still be a good person, but the one who lies to his loved ones is real shit
@@ТатьянаФатеева-г2у The majority of drinking husbands are liars and are abusive towards their wife. Not to mention the public risk of drunk drivers killing others. Great point, its just that anyone can reverse it and have the footage in normal colours xD But i doubt its illegal to film in public without consent, so i think he is free from lawsuits :D As one British auditor repeats in his videos "there is no expectation of privacy in public".
It can be off putting if someone walks up to you with a camera on. You're much larger than these women too. Maybe they just don't like the vibe of the situation.
Because people watching the videos want to see beautiful women. Most of the women in Russia are beautiful. Why did you click on the video about Russian girls that had a beautiful girl on the thumbnail?
It is interesting that the most common answer is Lies. No one want's to be lied to but many people don't hesitate to lie to get what they want. Maybe next question should be "Have you lied to someone?"
People lie when they say that they hate lie. People love lie, but they don't say it exactly because it would be the truth then, but the truth is not what they love. So, saying "I hate lie" has its double bonus: denying the truth and another exercise in lying at the same time. 😛😛

Probably thinking you are going to ask a ridiculous question. As for the food, a guess the only Russian food I have eaten is beef stroganoff. I am sure it isn't the traditional recipe though. I hope to travel to Russia and try all the foods I see like Borscht, pelmeni, blinis, etc. Sam, you have an eye for beautiful things.

Потому что каждый второй с телефоном лезет в лицо
Some people don’t want to talk and that’s fine, it’s those who are pretending to be really confident and cool who are usually really shy and so they are rude to try and hide it.

I think there are just a huge number of people who are introverts. They are super nice when you know them but I think they just do not want to be on camera but otherwise would be very nice. Then also a small number of people are really just like piss off. a lot of this depends on the person asking the question, wouldn't a beautiful women get responses almost always?
Do you mean wouldn’t a beautiful person get asked often? I prefer if someone just says no immediately. That’s what I would do.
@@SamsRussianAdventures no, a beautiful women asking the questions would get more positive interactions and answers. Wouldn't you agree?
And try this, don't ask the person if you can them a question, just ask the question.

I think people usually hate something that is constant
@@SamsRussianAdventures well lies or mosquitos are as constant as global wars but yes I understand. How's Milena?
Ironic when they say they hate lies….
@@hblock8361 what is wrong with that? Lies are published in western media and bring wars. So it's normal to hate lies even because of wars they create.

🤷🏻♂️
Sam! In which City are you in now? And do you have Instagram?
Hi mate, I’m in Vladimir! My social links are on the channel page.
Russia has some of the highest death tolls from drunk drivers. There is no such thing as a good drunk. Drunks = Liars = The same in one.

It is interesting that the most common answer is Lies. No one want's to be lied to but many people don't hesitate to lie to get what they want. Maybe next question should be "Have you lied to someone?"
Anyone has lied at least once in their life.
@@jenpsaki7103 How do you know that?
People lie when they say that they hate lie. People love lie, but they don't say it exactly because it would be the truth then, but the truth is not what they love. So, saying "I hate lie" has its double bonus: denying the truth and another exercise in lying at the same time. 😛😛
