    Can you please do a vid about icloud? I'd like to how I can make sure all my files are available on my ipad, imac, ipone and macbook at any time. I see lots of little icons that mean nothing to me. I also update Pages documents on my iPad and they're not automatically syhcned with my iMac. Any help would be magic, cheers

      Hi! The best way to quickly sync everything between devices is using Airdrop.
      On iCloud uploading a file depends on your wifi speed and file size. Maybe a 2GB file uploaded from you Mac to iCloud but it’ll take time to upload to other devices. Even more if it’s to be synced on many devices. Airdrop is the fastest way.

    • @astra1360
      @astra1360 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Cesar_Orostegui no that’s not the point of having a synced library - air drop is mainly for sharing with other people. iCloud works perfectly when having it set up correctly

    • @astra1360
      @astra1360 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lindaj5492 just use the „Documents“ folder in iCloud for everything and make sure the settings for sharing files on iCloud are enabled on all devices. It’s super straightforward actually. You can even share your desktop

    Some of my favorite tips would be using SpotLight. Instead of opening your calculator, you can hit Cmd+Spacebar and type 57*44 and you'll get the answer. You can use this for currency conversions, unit conversions. That's aside from finding apps, files and searching the web.

    Great videos and some useful tips I was aware of but hadn't fully known.
    A feature that gets very little use is the Automator. As a survey I often take hundreds of images and the camera files are generally large. I have a single step automator set up that allows me to scale images in Finder. Scaling will reduce the file size by up to 80% and using this method 200 photos can easily be scaled in only a couple of minutes, with only a single right click context menu.

    Loved this one❣️The live or visual demos are the best! Can you please have a video on picture organization. Specifically on how to rename a batch of pictures. Like 60 or more at once. I work with images all the time. Some need to be renamed, merged, put in order etc. I am really struggling with it. I just switched from windows to Mac not long ago.. Windows was more simple when it comes to work with images. Or I just need to learn the MAC side of it😂 Unfortunately, there are not many tutorials on picture manipulation. Thank you for all the help! By the way I just love the way you teach.

    also, you can change the folders icon with any jpg file. so you can have any visual folder you want. it is so helpful when you have a bunch of design elements (.eps) you don't have to open to see what kind of files are inside. all you have to do is copy whatever image you want then right-click on the folder. Click get info then right-click the folder icon on getting info on the left corner. and press paste. now you change your folder icon to whatever image you want.

    One I find essential is disabling that annoying 'Caps Lock' key.
    Go into System Prefs/Keyboard/be sure left hand 'Keyboard' button is selected/select the 'Modifier Keys' button near lower Right/and change the 'Caps Lock' pull down menu to 'No Action' & click 'Ok'
    This dance takes but a few seconds, usually only needs to be done once; and can be easily/quickly reversed... but couldn't imagine ever doing so.

    My own amazing Mac tool is Keyboard Maestro, basically the single most important tool I could pick on my mac. It’s basically a macro program that can fire off steps based on things I want to automate, but it’s so ridiculously powerful, being able to save data to variables, access all kinds of system info, run Applescript or Javascript inside macros, and do UI scripting that would be impossible otherwise, it’s something I would never give up.

    It's not really a macOS tip, but I love using my iPad Pro as a second monitor with Sidecar. As a motorsport journalist and photographer it is so handy to have a second screen at the press center. I usually have my ftp client on the second screen while editing in Lightroom and I can pull up result sheets or entry lists to add metadata to my pictures without having to switch between Lightroom and Preview or Safari.
    I'm amazed that among 100 people in the press room, you see two external monitors and I'm the only one using Sidecar.

    It’s interesting to see how your and my thinking about Tap to Click are exactly opposite: While you point out the silence of the light tap, I really prefer not to have to lift my finger. As a plus, actually pressing to click the trackpad means you can hold it for drag and drop, although I usually use a second finger to hold while the first moves the items.
    Did you know you can make the click silent as well?

    Wonderful video. Thanks! I have been trying to find how to change something, but I can't find how to do it. The default photo icon thumbnail size for Finder is tiny. I think it is 64 x 64 pixels. So, in the Finder I went to View | Show View Options and made it larger and made it the default. When using Finder directly all is good, but then when I am on a forum forum, on Facebook, creating an email, etc. when I want to add a photo to a post a Finder window pops up with the original tiny thumbnails. How can I make this pop up Finder show the default thumbnail size that I set? I add photos probably 20 times a day and the tiny thumbnails in the upload window that are smaller than the default size in the regular Finder are a big annoyance and hard to find the photo I want in a folder. Do you know how to adjust the thumbnail size in this popup Finder window?

    I did not know the copy paste across devices. That's a life saver. I wish I knew about that before. It could have helped me a lot. Thank you! Please see if there is any solution for these annoying things with Mac and I am usually a Windows guy. 1 Is there any way to center the preview app or at least open it to the right instead of the left of the screen that it opens by default. 2 why can I not just use the arrow keys to see pictures in a folder in preview app. why do I have to select them all and then use the arrow keys(I know about space bar but that's totally different) 3 I open the finder in full screen and I have 10 pics. I open the first pic(which is just the preview) and I see that the finder minimizes to the dock. why? So I have to close this preview. open the finder again and click on the next picture. However if the finder is not in full screen it acts just like in Window that is the finder just stays on the screen when I open a pic and when I close the picture the finder is still open on the screen and I can just click on the next pic. Thanks again!

    Command W closes a document, Command Q Quits an App, but the better choice is Command H to Hide the App.

    A mistake you stated. You said “Command + W” to fully quit the app. I think you meant “Command + Q” since ‘W’ only closes the window. (Your annotation in the video does show the correct ‘Q’ however.)
