I gave it to the shop and they didn't wanted to touch it to make it worse... Now the trans is in the car and i can drive on fifth gear, but no hard pulls.
Hello! Nice video very detailing! One question. Has the transmission ever been rebuilt? I am asking because I noticed that the 3rd - 4th gear hub is installed in the opposite site. The line should point to the front of the transmission
@@kwsmotorsport3214 I am confused. Maybe it is correct I will check it further solve the mystery and get back to you. haha. I am in the middle of the rebuild process on my trans and I am going according the manual. Although it is scanned and the quality is not the best. It was good that you had English in this video, cause Swedish are difficult :P
@@manolaq I can guess Swedish is awful to listen/ try to understand :) Have you tried to download the TSRM app in your phone? It is a Toyota Supra app with "all the manuals" Not all but almost. But do come back if you find anything weird going on here, because my fifth gear is still sounding like a aeroplane when i drive it XD
@@kwsmotorsport3214Swedish are ok as long as you understand :) Yes I have TSRM in my phone, I have it also in PDF. Although the V160 manual is not included in TSRM and there is a copy in the net which is low quality. It seems that the sleeve is correctly placed based on my research, you don't have to worry about that. Why don't you post a clip with the sound of the fifth gear?
I really need your help ASAP. the 3 and the 4 ball you must take out. Are they the same size? Can it be nr 3 is bigger? Just lost nr 3 in the garage. Found a ball 2 hours later but this seems bigger .
All four balls are the same according to toyota epc program. Below you can find the part numbers for the balls, springs, caps 90080-33008 SEAT, SHIFT DETENT BALL SPRING, NO.1 90080-50136 SPRING, COMPRESSION (FOR SHIFT DETENT BALL LOW SIDE) 90080-36055 BALL, SHAFT DETENT
What kind of sealant can you use to put the rear case back on the torque down ? Thank you
Interested to know if the professional shop found anything wrong. My V160 is also out, was making horrible clicking and droning noises while driving.

So what was wrong with 5th gear?

The supra got some history, i dont know if the gearbox was taken apart before. Is it a bad thing to have it in opposite site? :)

@@manolaq Ok nice!
I can try to drive it with fifth and try to record the sound. Maybe some supra enthusiasts can recognize the sound. :)
