wave menagment is the solo most important league mechanic . it doesnt even matter your skill level ,if you can trade with your champ and menage the wave you will climb alot
Great content, alot of guides are incredibly vague with like "if you're behind make sure to freeze or slowpush" without any specifics or information on how or when to do that. Super helpful, hopefully I can catch you on twitch someitme!
I'm a support main and wave management has been hard for me to learn but I'm trying to know it so I can climb and this video is so amazing, thank you. It has helped me a lot!
Really well made and thought out guide. Really looking to improve with wave management and general game knowledge before really touching harder upon mechanics. Gonna keep reprocessing the information everytime i forget or just rewatch at least everyday to make sure i understand everything.
thank you so much for this! i'm currently trying to climb my way out of silver with my duo (who's a fantastic support) and I think the only thing we lack in our lane is good wave management. we fight really well together and i can pull 7-8 cs/min (team/jg permitting), but sometimes just killing the enemy isn't enough to put them into the ground and help my team win better. definitely using that first flowchart to plan out our picks!!
Don't know if you still play league, but would love to see you back as a content creator on high elo concepts! Climbing to GM right now and your video is a godsend
I didnt watch the whole video yet im at 5min but i want to mention the bush control on bot lane what is really important for example if you slowpushed your waves into the enemy turret you can fake a recall if the enemy has no wards in the bushes because most likely your opponent will shove the wave cause he thinks youre basing (+Your jungler can walk up to bushes without the enemy knowing it.). You might lose time its a lil bit of a flip but if youre able to get a kill by that you will be super ahead + you get a massive mental advantage over your opponent which is most likely +50% chance for win in SoloQ. Yes you have to know Flash timers etc. but even if you fail somehow you will be still able to catch your waves without losing so much. Overall Im most likely doing "the Rekkles wave management" usually basing when the wave is at the middle of the lane (when enemy is basing) if I know the kill potential is pretty low its the most effective laning in soloq in my opinion because you will get your chances anyways since with this tactic the enemy will be always prone to ganks (lower chances for objectives but you have to give up something with every decisions).
18:21 you gain 1 inch of safety but your wave will push back since ur wave entirely targets enemy 1st melee. Good if you want to push anyways, bad if you might want to freeze
Hello, my Feedback, as and Player which currently breaked out of Silver into Gold: Very helpful but its like to much to think about when im going ingame, its overwhelming so i lose abit the Idea how to use it: the short videos were very helpful pls more of that, thx for Content, Platinum incoming.
Amazing video, can you make one video about champion pool? Solid designed ADCs that you recommend mastering for soloQ, not taking into account the patch, etc... Thank you so much :)
Thanks a lot! You can still slowpush with Tristana - you just can't stack as many waves as with other ADC's. I recommend keeping track of your creeps and try to lasthit them when they are close to as few creeps as possible. Good luck :)
Hey thank you your videos are really helpful, im an bronze adc and i don't know how to improve my decision making, could please maybe talk about sometime?
The only thing i’m wondering is what the goal is with each of these ”tricks”. Cuz I’m having a hard time imagining when exactly i should use which strategy. Like Which one is most optimal in Which situation.
It depends on many factors, starting from the draft, what champs are in the enemy botlane (if they are an engage support and an adc to go all in at lvl 2, if they are an adc and a supp to push and take out plates from early, if it is a poke bot, etc.) the rival jungler, where he starts and where he paths, that corresponds to the jungle tracking, the enemy midlaner, if it is a champion like malza who pushes fast, if it is an assassin like zed or akali and the matchup that is in front of him, if he are going to force it to rotate or stay in line, your own setup along with your supp, your jungle and mid taking into account the aspects already mentioned. This is very good content, but you have to understand all this terminology , and then you will realize when it is good to do a slowpush to prepare a dive, to make drake, to invade together with your jungler or rotate to mid, because what the slowpush does is give you time to participate in another part of the map or tempo to recall and come back to lane with an item advantage , since you force the enemy laner to stay in line or lose that xp and gold
Got a question about the clip you've showed in the rekkles part. Imo this state always leads to an unresolvable lane state. if the enemy realizes, that you have no pressure to shove further than the first brush, he can just thin out the stacking wave and just freeze it. As you are low as fuck you cant really break the freeze so resetting in a hella awkward spot is the only solution I guess (besides calling your jungler for help which happens so rarely, even in mid master elo)?
Can't answer this with something that u can apply in every game since every wave and game is different. The point about the Rekkles though is not showing that u are weak, it was just in this case where I was low that I just wanted to put it there for a brief moment to shove next wave since when I put the wave in that position, my team who were botside was able to help if something happened. The point about the Rekkles is to be able to start a slowpush in a really safe state for you, but you can use this whether ur strong or not. Obviously, if u are rly weak you need to think twice before doing this as enemy might try to freeze as you mentioned. Sry for vague answer but it's a really hard question to answer: Every game and wave is different and requires a different solution.
When u want ur wave to be on your side of the lane for more safety and option to slowpush easier :) if wave is in the middle u have to usually fight for push
Depends on what you want to do with it. Do you want to dive him? Then slowpushing & stacking a bigger wave is better, but denying your opponent a wave for free is never bad.
Depends on a lot of factors: Your champions waveclear, if ur jungle / enemy jungle is bot or not. There is not one answer to this question sadly. Worst case u just have to leave it here and base anyways or die for pushing in next wave and make sure u crash it.
the cheater recall is basically slowpushing first and 2nd wave in early, then on 3rd wave (cannon wave), you wait for the cannon wave to join the rest of your minions, then you crash the minions into enemy tower, enemy will need to take the wave, that's when you recall, you come back to lane with like, long sword, so item advantage, meanwhile they couldn't base because the minion wave is so big, so they have to stay in lane at an item disadvantage, or they recall and you let it slowpush into you, setting up a freeze and deny them SO MUCH gold and exp that you will be level 4 while they are still 2.
just leave the wave and base. You'll miss some minions, but not too much, because they are not pushing too hard and at least you'll not get the "doom" position
3:12 how did you slowpush 4 waves level 1??? I heard Shok say it's posssible in top/bot but never seen it! Did you pull wave and zone them level 1? PS it should be easier now that minions have been sped up?
Yes, it’s a mix between sped up creeps but also look how im usually not last hitting the creep until its in execute range of MY OWN minions. That + not hitting creeps as soon as u have secured lane control is how u can stack 4 waves.
One Question, in the first example of incorrect shoving, were the shove is to slow and ends up in a bad wave state. What was the right play there? A slowpush, so dont hit the first and crash on second with stack wave? Is that right?
to be hoinest with u as a hardstuck NA gold player, i know all of this, and i execute the wave management, what has taken me out of adc role is the fact that my support has no idea about any of this and would troll me hit minions by trying to poke shove on her own, and jgler never come bot, and mid laner coming in all innning killing me getting away with every time, champs like diana/yone/noct/annie, any of these that would roam boat flash all out clear me and get out, when i get fisted by my own team and enemy on repeat, is the type of videos id like to see
i main support, and i play adc sometimes, because i hate when adcs don't know anything to wave management ! First of all, it is pretty cocky from you, a gold player, to say you know everything about a challenger wave management lesson. I'm sure there is few thigns you don't apply in game which results you dying to ennemy mid ganks Then, it is false than junglers never come bot in S13. Maybe they haven't because you were toxic, or wave was doomed (so they benefit nothing from helping you) ? I agree that some support, especially mages, randomly throw spells in the wave... maybe they tried to poke, but it is very tilting, 100% agree with you on that point. However, you can try to ping them ("push forward" to push, or "hold the area" to freeze) if , they still don't udnerstand, type in the chat Everytime i typed, they listened. Why they listen ? Because if they throw spells in wave randomly, they don't know anything about the wave management, and they may be glad that their adc know something, to lead them. An ignorant wouldn't refuse tips from someone who has knowledge ! But of course, they may listen only if you're respecting them and not being toxic :)
Shot call with pings as an adc and focus on playing around support don’t micro manage them if they’re bad just farm don’t perform around them and be consistent every game and try to learn
I think ADC is in a strong state right now, so many champions that spikes on two items that are rly strong against tanks that are in meta right now. Not weak at all imo!
no it's not weak , it is weak if you have none protection (pyke support + assassin mid + assassin jgl), because ADC has low defensive stats and lackof mobility but if you get an enchanter (shields/heal), a mage mid (CC machine), a bruiser or tank jgl/top (frontline and cc machine), it's perfect for any adcs (even immobiles adc)!! As there is rarely 3 assassins in a game, and there is always at least one bruiser with cc in a game, ADCs isn't weak ! Only metas where assassins are dominating are dangerous for adcs i think ! Ah, try to duoQ, soloQ sucks 😢
Hmm, the problem with this video is that you only explained the concepts of slowpushing, freezing, and shoving, but you just went over the surface and didn't cover WHEN you should do which, what triggers each scenario (no, saying you can freeze when behind or ahead is not explaining when you should freeze), what steps you should take towards triggering the wave events that make it possible to do each, how exactly to do each, going into minute details about waves and wave states, counting minions, understanding in super detail how slowpushing and freezing happen. Very dissapointing, you "threatened" us with a lot of info, every step of the video, but ended up just scratching the surface, as if it's simply an ad for the "next" thing, like a paywall before coaching or something. This is not a wave management guide, it's a wave management vocabulary.
This is a massive improvement over the previous video, keep it up!
