Love checking out what Salvation Army puts into their glass cabinets! I keep thinking I’m going to find something amazing in there someday.
And old Swatch watches!(They remind me of my teenage years.I love the bright colours. )
Yes! I had an orange Swatch in the late 90s that I LOVED!
Hi Kate,
This looks like a lovely store.I like how some things are set out in colours.
Looks like you got some great things!
My favorite was the strawberry cup and saucer!
Hi Colleen! You know me and teacups! I always check them out but rarely buy any. With spring and summer coming though... 😍🍓 It was too lovely to leave behind! I quite like the color coordination too. I know it's not terribly popular with most people, but I like how it makes me dig and take my time a bit. 😁
I love the lithograph. I’m tempted to go see if it’s still there and if I can reframe it or something. I love Disney memorabilia.
It really was pretty and could definitely be saved! Reframing it would protect it from further wear and freshen it up a bit. I'll be back in that area tomorrow and can always pop in and look if you don't get a chance. ☺️
Nice score on the Pegasus! Loved the jardinare and copper hanging planter. I looked at some of the same things as you. That particular store seems to be fairly good.
The plush was totally a surprise! And the copper plant hanger is such a classic but I never find them anymore! I was definitely pleased about that one. ☺️ Overall, it's a good location. It has its good days and bad, but I've found some fabulous stuff there.
Goods ok friend
Thanks for watching! ☺️✌️
I didn't know sealed vintage feminine products actually had a resale value, I bought two boxes of maxipads - Modesse brand unopened at the VV in Victoria a few years ago, with date on them of 1959! lol
Oh wow! Those sound amazing! It's pretty cool, but there's a solid collector base for them, and another angle is for prop use in theatre and film. I think it's easier (and probably cheaper!) to buy a vintage product than to have an artist recreate it.
I would love to know how you got started with thrifting/reselling.Did you have a mentor or just start doing lots of research?(Again, you have a great eye for treasures.)
I am on the hunt for a pair of old Frye boots,a pair of Fluevogs that fit ,an old black Coach purse and vintage Fisher Price toys.(Just to enjoy;not resell.)
Love to hear what you are on the hunt for!
Well, I've been a thrifter most of my life. My mum is a big thrifter, as was her mum before her. My grandma used to sell at markets and had a booth in England years ago when my mum was younger, mostly jewelry in those days, and she even had a small antique shop later in life. When she visited us here in Canada a few times, we took her thrifting to source! She bought quite a few bits to sell in her shop back home. ☺️ No real mentor though as far as reselling and my vintage knowledge. I never talked too much about it with my g.ma, and the person who actually put me onto "thrifting to resell" was the owner of the jewelry store I was managing about 14-15 years ago. She was a great lady and after I'd go thrifting on my lunch break, she would be in awe of everything I found. She was the one who told me I should buy to resell because people out there would happily pay for the convenience of having a curated shopping experience while still enjoying a second hand and thrift oriented selection. When that jewelery store closed down while I was pregnant, I was left without a job so decided to give it a go! I opened my Etsy shop and really started selling at local vintage fairs (did my first show with the help of my mum and brother when my girl was only 3 weeks old!). So since then, LOTS of mistakes and LOTS of reading and researching! And not to sound arrogant, I think I have always been drawn to certain types of pieces. Even before I knew what I was looking for, I had a tendency to gravitate to funky vintage stuff and nice quality things. ☺️ When it comes to reselling, I'm hunting for vintage kitsch and nice jewelry. Both can be tricky to find in a thrift setting around here though. Personally, I'm not sure what I'm hunting for right now! So much stuff goes through my hands, I try not to keep too much (at least not for too long 😆). But I'd say a nice antique wooden bread bowl. And a good quality salad spinner. Lol... Let me know what sizes you need for the shoes. I'll keep my eyes open for you and keep you in mind for purses and toys. ☺️ (Sorry for the super long reply!)
@@zenkatvintage Thank you for the very informative reply.I am a perfect size 7 but can fit into some 6.5 shoes.
I remember my mom taking me to church rummage sales;loved them!!
Will keep that in mind! And yes! Rummage sales are some of the best places to shop. ☺️

Oh, you should've heard the original director's cut version! 😆 I rambled about imagining some middle age woman losing her mind on Mickey Mouse. Lol...
