When Spiderman thinks of his Villains, he doesn't feel happy, he feels fear and dread because of the demons they represent to him. E.g. Green Goblin killed Gwen Stacy. Venom is the black alien who fed on his anger. Doc Ock is a man he feels attached to as a mentor, same thing with the Lizard.
