I used to ride Lake Chabot all the time with my 2011 Rockhopper Expert 29. They used to be setup a little more XC focused out of the box before. Funny enough, all the mods I made to mine are pretty much what they come as standard now. Wider bars, shorter stem, 100mm for travel, 180mm front disc, etc. Adding a dropper post is a must. It’s a tough bike, and rides well for its price point. I used to ride up and down Mission Peak 3 times a week, as well as trips to Joaquin Miller, and other fast flowy single track trails mixed with some light technical stuff. If you ride the Lake Chabot full loop at least 3 times a week, it really helps training the legs to do more advanced stuff. My old 2 piston brakes are solid on fast steeps. So you probably needed them serviced. Or maybe try a tire with more bite in the front. I use Specialized Purgatory in front with Ground Control on back.
Way cool Trail riding video. I just purchased the same mountain bike specialized Elite rockhopper 29er XXL size frame moss green. I been enjoying it riding around Seattle it hauls ass nice fast bike
hi i was thinking about getting the 2021 version with the 1X10 or the 2022 version with the 1X11(11-51), do you think i will need this extra gear for going uphills or not really?
Great video. That spot looks awesome! I watched your vid on the Giant Fathom also. Which bike do you prefer? Been going back and forth between these two. Also, I'm 5'10" with a 32" inseam, would Medium be the right size? Thanks!
It really depends on your riding, I prefer the Fathom as it fits me better. I think a Medium would be fine for you but I would go check out both bikes in stores if you can.
@@DCPROJEKT thanks for the reply. I have a medium Fathom reserved for me (couldn't find any in person to try out first unfortunately), should be here in about a month! Can't wait.
The brakes, need to be adjusted your seat needs to be locked in place Surface and eternally, You need to do some lifting to tone up,and drop 50 pounds 🤔
