Behind every great man is really just his work ethic, circumstance, and intellect. I can’t think of a single great man whose wife helped him, or if he had a wife at all. Alexander the Great? Ghandi? Jesus? Beethoven? Where are these great wives people claim?
I know it’s just a bit, but the song “I Don’t Like Mondays” was written about a school shooter who used a rifle to pick off victims from across the street: it was a young girl. When questioned about her motives, she simply replied “I don’t like Mondays,” hence the song title. It’s a pretty good song if you haven’t heard it. About the only thing Bob Geldof did that didn’t involve other people’s music 😅
It was funny, but I have a question as a german I can not understand the obsession of americans with hitler. There is a reference in so many comedy shows and I don´t really get why. He wasn´t the only one doing really bad things in history. Is it because of the lowest common denominator? Everyone in america knows hitler and everyone knows he was bad so everyone will get the joke? Not a critique, just a question I asked myself for a long time.
well, just like public education here in Germany, over in the states, he's the only historical bad guy they ever hear about in school. You mention any other name, half the crowd won't get the joke.
I mean, if we weren't allowed to talk about the funny mustache man the way yall weren't, it probably wouldn't be a thing. But all jokes aside, there's a reason he's the number 1 hyper focused on public enemy even when his crimes are compared to people who, some would argue, dwarf his by magnitudes, especially in body counts.
In a word, yes. Hitler is the go to bad guy that everyone knows about. Though, from what I've seen elsewhere, I don't think using Hitler is the stand in for evil guy is a uniquely American thing.
Well, the evils of Nazi Germany were on another level. Sure in other attrocities more People died. But in Germany the whol thing was an Operation to kill the People, it was a mechanised operation and not just letting hunger do the Job. And i do not have the Numbers, but i could imagine if you compare the People killed to how many People lived there, the Nazis could top the List. Another important thing is: Germany is in the western Sphere. Compereable idiology, competable education, comperable living standarts, comperable form of government. And even though such an unimaginable thing happened.
I don't know, man. I thought my mom was a great mom because she rarely voiced her opinion, and the few times she spoke up against my dad, she was correct, all 5 times.

Most women nowadays expect men to be great without the emotional support of a woman and then they wonder why they can't find any good men.
Active undermining. Not just a lack. They made themselves a negative.
I don't think men need emotional support as much as women. The old truism is that women want to feel loved, and men want to feel appreciated.
Not emotional support but secretary support. If you train she needs to cook. If your a business man she needs to be your organizer. Etc
