her interpretor is absolutely 100% amazing .. it literally feels like you hear her .. just with s male voice 🙏🏻
Marlee and Jack have such a strong relationship, don't they? They've been together for years now. What an awesome duo!
Another wonderful deaf actress to check out is Lauren Ridloff. She too has an amazing interpreter that captures Lauren's voice so beautifully. Fun fact: Following in Marlee's footsteps, Lauren also played in "Children of the Lesser God" on Broadway. These are just two amazing actresses representing the deaf community.
They known each other for more than 30 years, and Jack is C.O.D.A. (Child of Deaf Adult). Both of his parents are deaf, and ASL is his first language.
Although I wish her interpretor was the same gender as her. Jack is okay. 👌
I have never commented on any video on Ellen but I had to this one time...her interpreter is so in sync, with the same sense of humor! He's so good!
Marlee is in her mid 50s and still georgous.
That's because they've worked together for so many years.
Note to self: must learn sign language so if I ever happen to run into Marlee Matlin I can tell her how effing awesome she is.

She's also been in films that when released on DVD have had no subtitles which is an unbelievable joke.

@@Zenobiadream Relax. This has nothing to do with correcting grammar and everything to do with correcting misconceptions about the deaf community. We show respect to other groups of people by opening ourselves up to learning and correcting our mistakes.
I mean, we would correct a deaf person if he or she interchanged words that are more familiar within the hearing community.
They have every right to correct us without us getting defensive.

I am deaf. CODA is amazing movie 🍿 🎉❤🤟🏽
My heart sank when they talked about not hearing music.
When ya can't hear it, but if you thump it loud enough you can still feel the beat. I'm hard of hearing, and can hear the music, but when my kids were little, I couldn't hear them if they needed help in the shower. I learned that thumping is a good way to signal someone who can't hear, so I had my kids stomp in the shower so I knew if they needed help (one kid always managed to get soap in her eyes). So, Marlee may not be able to hear the music, which is a serious bummer, but she can definitely feel the beat!
@@betsykeller9096 its hard not knowing what your family wants. im hard of hearing/deaf and im the only hoh/deaf person in my whole family so when i come out of the shower when i washed my hair i cant hear my family as well as i can when i do have my hearing aids in. i can hear music but i always feel for the beats from the floors or walls when i have music playing but when i have music play through my hearing aids i do tend to read the lyrics so i can understand the song better. i was just wondering are your kids CODAs or are they hard of hearing like you?
