Honestly man I just stumbled across your page, but you absolutely have a way of selling me on music gear. I feel like every tone you produce is incredibly dialed in and sounds fantastic, and I love you that put so much effort this. Thanks for the video, and Im definitely going to be adding the Simplifier DLX to the board ✌🏼
The Simplifier sounds amazing, but honestly, I think you've got the best demo of it, and have the best tones with it. I've been seriously looking at the UAFX amp boxes, but a couple things that I much prefer here: 1) stereo routing options. I frequently do wet-dry or wet-dry-wet setups, and not only can the Simplifier mix-and-match (one amp type in one channel, another in the other, etc.), but it has ALL the controls for each separate channel. 2) dedicated headphone output (you can do it on the UAFX amp pedals, but it requires a special cable to do so) 3) Price. This is close to, if not less than, the UAFX amp boxes, where you essentially get 6 models to play with (2 amps with 3 amp types each), whereas the UAFX is a single amp type and single channel. The only way to compare the Simplifier to the UAFX amp pedals (which DO sound very good), is if UA decided to put all 3 amp types in one box (which they really should, that would be amazing).
My dilemma was this or a PodGo… and my conclusion is this all the way. The simplicity of turning dials and flicking switches is brilliant. Plus it sounds so earthy and real. What an achievement, and thank you for such an excellent demo. Ps loved the switch to the plate Reverb, smoothed it all out for me and added enough ambiance. The ether would be amazing in the worship guitar world.
@@vasiGuitar I actually went a bit left-field and bought a NUX MG300 because it was reduced to £88 on Amazon, so that I could get a sense of how far these things have come with the IRs. It's been an incredible little unit to be honest - sounds really great live through the PA and honestly it's got me looking at something like the Mooer GE250 or 300 Lite. Every comparison review I've seen of the PODGO seems to be saying that it lacks a tonal spread that other modellers have, and from what I've seen/am hearing of the high end Mooer stuff, it's got something about it. That said, the Headrush seems to be excellent too, but it looks a little restrictive to me in that it doesn't have a computer editor. The NUX units have an incredible free computer editing software that makes creating realistic patches really easy. I've done a bit of a 180 - I still think that the Simplifier would be excellent, but I am loving the idea more and more of being able to go direct into PA and then using monitoring, or getting hold of an FRFR cab that I can leave on site and therefore cart the modeller about in a bag.
Truly a stellar demo and such gorgeous guitar work! I'm in the market for an amp replacement since our church converted to an ampless stage. I have analog effects pedals which I was running through the effects loop of my miced 15 watt tube amp. With the stereo XLR out, this really seems to be the solution.
That's all done in the board. As long as the sound guy knows how to do his job you're golden. I've used it live with only stage monitors and foh and it works beautifully. Put a little light drive in front of it for a push if needed and its incredibly easy to get used to. I've been an amp on stage kinda guy for the last 18 yrs and I didnt miss it one bit.
Definitely the best demo of this. A bit like how James Nathan Cordy's demo of the Joyo American Sound really made it shine to. Also thinking maybe these sound better in a good mix like this one, than solo. My thinking is that both this and the Thermion Zero are really interesting. If you already have one good tube amp (I have a Vox AC15). And you want a Wet/Dry/Wet rig. Add a splitter pedal with isolate and phase flip switch. Something like the Lehle and Palmer. Don't have to worry about the latency of digital modelling. Then, if you have some spare active monitors knocking around can use those from a DSM. Or if you have spare cabs, or can buy/build a small cheap pair. You'd have a killer rig but without 3 expensive big loud noisy tube amps, or the very restrictive choice of anyway decent solid state amps. I wonder if using these like that, you wouldn't feel much was missing from the tone, since the Dry Tube amp in the center would give you what these. And modern stereo digital pedals could sound really nice with the clarity and directness of this and EQ could help match things up.
My main wonder at the moment is whether to get the simplifier or one of the new UAFX pedals. I'm aware that they do one amp and this does three, but still not sure which I'd rather have considering the extra features and imo slightly better tone of the UA. But even then not sure on the tone being better or worse. ARGH the choices! Great demo man
I’m in the same boat. I don’t know how to upgrade to from my POD Go with all the amazing things being released. My gut tells me the industry is about to make a breakthrough in amp simulation, and there’s just a lot of product noise in the market right now. Probably going to keep putting money aside till winter NAMM and see what happens.
@@jash500 that may be very true, but I genuinely wonder how much better it can get compared to this? I haven’t tried this on stage. Generally I will still go for anything amp on stage. If I HAD to bring something like this I would prefer something like a Blackstar Amped 1.
