Chris Clarke, 1975 Pan Am Gold Medalist, 1976 Summer Olympian. In 1979, at the age of 21, with 18 pro fights he takes on Boxing's Veteran, Clyde Gray who had 80 pro fights at the sold out, 11,000 seat Halifax Metro Ctr. It was for the British Commonwealth and Canadian Welterweight Championship. Fans call this the most exciting match up to date in Halifax. Both men are now in the Canadian Hall of Fame.

Protect yourself at all times? Refs gave Clarke every possible chance to win, both fights. God forbid gray finishes his combination. Ref was going to let Clarke fight until he was snoring anyway
