Amen to that! I just unsubscribed from a well-known comedian because he and his wife were bashing the president...don't go to their channel for politics...I go for comedy! I'm also thinking of unsubscribing from another channel if the person doesn't stop taking God's name in vain and using other foul language...her partner on the channel is so kind so I hate to stop viewing for her sake, but that one girl is nasty sometimes.

You have no idea how much your videos have helped me get back in the swing of cleaning. I'm a nurse, wife, and mother of 6 that has battled psychological and physical fatigue due to lupus for years and i have allowed it to completely turn me away from keeping our beautiful home clean and organized. I truly believe your home shows how you feel inside and seeing your videos and digging deep down about my feelings towards myself has given me the strength and courage to make changes and get our home back in order. Thank you for giving constant motivation. You are a gem❤💛❤

Kathryn... I make those bars too (4:29). I don't heat the peanut butter, just keep the jar in the pantry until time to make the bars so it stays soft for mixing. Your way probably makes it easier to mix though! I'll also add dried cranberries and dark chocolate chips. You can add just about anything. Nuts and dark chocolate chips mean extra protein. ;)

Thank you, Kathryn! I definitely needed this video. I am 35 weeks pregnant, wrapping up all my stuff at work before taking maternity leave, trying to declutter and organize the house, and give plenty of time and attention to our wonderful 4 year old son. Sometimes I look around at all the things that need to get done and it can be overwhelming. But, I take whatever free time I have to tackle something, no matter what it is, and at least I know I got something done. Thank you again, and best of luck to you and your family!

Be kind to yourself expecting mama!! Newborn days can long and hard (I’m in week 3 with my sixth)! I found it helpful to have a small routine- do something for birth, something for my family/house, rest, repeat. Fill in with your things, and you’ll find you get more done taking time for yourself to rest, even if its short! Best wishes for your baby and birth!!

    Cranberry Chicken:
1 small bottle of Catalina or California Dressing
1 can of whole cranberries sauce
    Chicken for 4
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
Mix the salad dressing (Catalina/California) with the can of whole cranberries (sauce) in a medium mixing bowl. You may use a whisk or a mixing spoon- your choice. I like the whisk; it mixes faster in my opinion. Set aside for a minute. Place the chicken of your choice of cut (I prefer the thighs but breasts work too) in a casserole dish or some sort of baking pan alike. Pour the mixture of Catalina or California Dressing and the cranberries over the top of the chicken that you placed in the pan. Bake the defrosted chicken 30 minutes (45-60 minutes if frozen depending on oven and altitude) or until there is NO red in the chicken. Remove from oven and serve. The chicken is so tasty and it tastes like you slaved over the stove for hours. I wasn't into cranberries until my Grandma made this for the family; now, it's one of my favorite dishes.

I just wanted to comment and say that your channel has been so encouraging to me these past few weeks. I am in nursing school, work two jobs, and my husband is a regional pilot going for his bachelor's degree as well. Because of our schedules, we don't have that much time to spend together, let alone time without homework or ineffective cleaning. We have only been married for about one and a half years and are currently on a journey to declutter our life and establish positive cleaning habits. Your words of encouragement and honesty really have changed my perspective on healthy habits and your channel makes me really feel as if we can attain our goals of healthier living. Thank you for the encouragement and life that you speak into those watching videos, you really make a difference!! You're awesome and I can't wait to watch more of your content!

Love the batch cook... I’ve been homeschooling and cooking three meals at home for several years and finally I realized that this takes many forms! Whenever I’m in the kitchen I’m planning more than one meal- cleaning up from dinner I’ll make soaked oats or throw the leftover veggies in a frittata. Making breakfast I’ll pull out a freezer meal or get the crockpot going. If you don’t want to freeze, lunch I’ll make a veggie tray that lasts us a few days and cut veggies for another meal. Make the most of the time in the kitchen (and then you already know what meal is coming up). We also will make a little extra and plan a leftover day, or have a soup for dinner and then the leftover soup with a small salad the next day for lunch. Batch cook doesn’t always have to mean freeze!! Good luck everyone! Just think about how many public school jobs it takes to do yours! (I wish I had a janitor or lunch lady!!)

When you are thinking how hard laundry is be thankful you have a nice laundry room on the main floor. Some people have to haul their laundry down to their washer and dryer at the far end of a not very nice basement and then haul it back up the stairs. This is all done one load at a time. It's even harder when you are old with bad knees. lol

    • @HollyA580
      @HollyA580 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Lol, that is the truth! This was me for my entire life until I retired and moved to a home that had the washer and dryer on the same floor as the bedroom (although I did have a laundry chute so only had to haul them up). Laundry is a cinch now compared to before - and of course only clothes for my hubs and me makes it even easier! I feel that pain though!

    • @melissahilt9571

Yes! 💯 I have to haul my laundry down 2 flights of stairs to the furthest spot in my yucky LOW ceiling basement go up and down for however many loads I am doing and then haul all the clean laundry back up 2 flights of stairs! Its definitely a workout. We've officially had enough of it for 7 years and are finally doing some renovating and getting our laundry upstairs. Dont even care if it needs to go into my living room at this point. 😆😅 i wouldve done just about anything to get it on the main floor in my home. To boot im only 28 years old so can only imagine if i was much older. Although I do have a shot back which doesn't make it any easier :(

I really need this motivation. I had hand and elbow surgery at the end of August, developed a staph infection in my elbow in the beginning of September, and spent two nights in the hospital plus additional surgery to clean out the infection. The antibiotics I'm on have left me feeling drained and I'm just so ready to feel better but am lacking the energy. I haven't dusted my home in almost two weeks, but for the most part, the important things are done. We have clean laundry and grocery pickup has been awesome. I like the idea about setting aside time to worry. I do that a lot, given the state of our country. Thank you for the motivation! I'm going to try to get some things done later on. 🤗💖

I love when you insert audio clips about something that really hit home with you! I remember awhile back you inserted an audio clip about making your bed and how it helps you be more productive and that has really helped me. And I really feel like now if I tell myself to "just eat the frog" I'll get way more done. 😌 Thanks, Kathryn! ♥️

My mantra the last week has been "Do something that future you will be thankful for." It's helped a lot with keeping my kitchen manageable! When my kitchen is in bad shape, I'm having a hard time. If I can keep it together, I do much better. Or when I'm doing better, I can keep it together. Not sure which came first, the chicken or the egg here, but it is still a barometer that is pretty reliable! 🙂

Amen sister. So glad someone already said this. Setting time aside to worry is ridiculous. You'll be worrying even more by looking at the clock constantly until you get to the time that you're "allowed" to worry. People have committed suicide in that time frame. Eliminating the worry all together is what needs to be done and that can only be achieved when we leave our worries at the foot of the cross. ✝️🙏🏽❤️
"Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."
      - Philippians 4:6‭-‬7
"Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? And if worry can’t accomplish a little thing like that, what’s the use of worrying over bigger things?"
      - Luke 12:25‭-‬26

I've been taking care of my husband's needs a lot more than my own and our home. He has Parkinson's Disease and not being able to go exercise for quite a while caused him to digress. So, now he's able to go exercise and he's doing a little better.
So, knowing he's doing better I'm remotivated!! I've given myself a goal to have our home back to being decluttered, and organized by September 30th. I'm gonna get help with dusting and some household chores so that I can make sure our home stays clean and I can drive him to his exercise classes and doctor appointments with ease.
Wish me Luck but I think this is going to be doable.
Thanks for the tips, helpful hints and information.
Blessings and Love from my home to yours❣

Hi, I'm a full time working mom, and I do homeschooling with my daughter she does 3 lessons then wants a 10 minute break and I find often that I am so busy with other stuff her 10 minute break turns to a 30 minute break so the kitchen timer is an amazing idea, I don't know why I never thought of it. Thank you. At least now I can set it for 10 minutes and then. She knows when that goes off it's time to do the next lesson.

I just started scheduling "worry time" a few weeks ago. I was really skeptical, but it has legit helped improve my overall mood.
An easy meal I'd recommend is meatball subs. Heat up frozen meatballs, mix with pasta sauce, put on sub rolls, sprinkle mozzarella and BOOM. A filling lunch or dinner.

I like to batch cook crockpot soups in the fall and winter. My favorite is an easy vegetarian chili:
1 can kidney beans drained and rinsed
1 can black beans drained and rinsed
1 can chili beans and sauce
    1 small bag frozen corn
    1/2 chili seasoning packet
    1 can crushed tomatoes
1-2 cups low sodium V-8 style juice (depends on size of your crockpot)
1 small can fire rosted tomatoes
1/2 cup of your favorite tomato-based salsa
I cook it on low for about 6 hours. The crockpot does most of the work. It makes a lot, so I find freezing some for later is best. We also make cornbread muffins at the same time and freeze half of them for later.
Thanks for sharing your tips and techniques. This year has been a doozie. Getting back on track, and, more importantly, staying on track has been so difficult.

A tip to prevent spillage when using storage bags for batch cooking. Get an empty cereal storage container. Put the gallon size baggy in it and clip the sides using clothes pins, alligator clips or chip clips. Keeps the baggy upright and open. Also recycle the Dawn spray bottle by refilling the spray bottle and not buying a new one. Love all your organizational tips.

Tangy chicken. 1 1/2 pound chicken breast, 1/2 cup Italian dressing. 1/2 cup bbq sauce cooked 6-8 hours in the crockpot until meet easily shreds. We eat it the first night usually with steamed broccoli (my kids love broccoli) and apple sauce or cottage cheese. The leftovers are good in a salad and a favorite my husband and I use it for is a homemade pizza!
I am going to have to try those oat breakfast bars they sound delicious and super easy to make!

For real, my frog is just starting things as I can get overwhelmed with lots to do. Writing things down in my planner helps, but also the realization that if I can cross off just one thing today, and focus on my already existing list and not adding to it, helps me out a bunch.

Beef Stroganoff! Just 2lbs ground beef, small container of sour cream and big can of cream of mushroom soup! Cook the beef and drain, return to pan add soup and sour cream and put on warm while you cook your whole bag of egg noodles or whatever noodles you like! You can add the sauce to the noodles all at once or eat it like you would spaghetti! Add some garlic bread and your good to go. This usually lasts a couple days at my house! Love this video!!

Love the making something easier! My suggestion is crock pot liner bags. Crock pots already make life easier but not having to clean them after using them is a total win! Just throw away the liner after using and wipe out the crock!
