Thanks for another great episode and inspiring all small boat owners to do big things!
That big white boat in Dandy Hole sank this week. Just the mast sticking up, so be careful next time anyone goes up the Lyner.

Oh my 😲 thanks for the warning. Sad that boats are left like that.

Another delightful video, Steve! I so enjoyed following along on Google Maps as you tacked up river, looking ahead, starting with your mention of Jupiter Point, and continuing on, spotting the beach at Dandy Hole, seeing photos that people had taken and uploaded from there and Wacker Quay. I’m sorry for your anxious night at anchor, but I am glad that you could muster some semblance of a sense of humor for your closing red-lit remarks! I’ve heard that “Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans.” and it’s certainly been that way in my neck of the woods! All the best to you and yours!

Thank you. Nice cruise. Brings back memories. I used to have a wooden 22ft-er on a mooring at Cargreen, and would visit the Lynher quite a bit.

Another wonderful one, Steve. You mentioned "Patience is a virtue," which got me thinking of something by W.H. Auden: "Virtue is always more expensive than Vice, but cheaper than Madness." Hope your aren't driven to mud-madness. Cheers, and looking forward to the next one!

Cracking video Steve. I like your attitude to circumstances, " no need to flap, we'll just see how we can deal with it. "
I solved the poor bomb aiming with the snuffer lid on my Trangia, I cheat and use an old Tuna tin, it's bigger and easier to land first shot on the Trangia...😄

Now why have I never thought of a tuna tin...what a clever idea 😆

I really enjoyed this! I live very close to the Lynher and have kayaked on it a few times. Barely made it back in to Forder Creek on that spring flood this year! My dream is to get a small boat myself and do exactly this, get out on the water and explore our beautiful home. Thank you for sharing.

You are most welcome. I'm toying with getting a decent inflatable kayak to tow behind arwen but also to take on our motorhome travels as well. Glad you enjoyed the videos take care now

@@plymouthwelshboy we also kayaked back to Forder from Cotehele this summer. Highly recommended. Any top tips for a new sailor looking to explore the Tamar/Lynher/Sound and nearby coastlines? Many thanks!

depends on what kind of boat you have. If you are using a dinghy and towing - explore your local slipways in advance before launching always helps. Get a good navigation app like navionics and if exploring up river - an OS map of the tamar valley is also useful.

@@plymouthwelshboy The Lynher does seem to be late with it's flow at springs. Dandy hole is one of the few places where iv'e had an anchor drag.
