    I know some people are saying that Emma should just get over what happened with her parents, but as well as it being an awful thing that, in theory, they have held back from her since she came to Storybrooke, part of the grudge is the darkness talking. When Regina was the Evil Queen, she held a grudge against Snow for years. She forgave Snow when she became good. Darkness is more than just committing dark acts, such as murder. It plays a large part in Emma's annoyance at her parents.

      What I think Emma hates most is that they made Maleficent's child an orphan, just like they did to her. I know she forgave them for sending her away, but figuring out they did it a SECOND time to another baby, and they did it because the mother was a "villain" and heroes are supposed to be bigger than that.

      Agree with most of this but pretty sure some of these details are wrong and misleading. Emma giving up Henry was to give him his best chance. She was going to jail. Hook didn’t actively chase down Mila just to hurt Rumple; Mila abandoned Rumple and their son because she thought Rumple was too weak and she wanted adventure, even if that meant leaving her son behind.

    Then what is darkness to Emma??? Regret can eat away at us & make us lose our minds. Some people live their lives with regret to the point they forget to live. I think Emma is still blaming her mother for the bad choices she made because Emma, as the savior, has to fix her mistakes. I think in Emma's mind, she wants to believe this shouldn't have happened, if Snow made the right choice, then it wouldn't have amounted to all this loss, tragedy, one bad choice after another, stolen childhoods, broken families, etc. I think Emma hasn't fully embraced being the savior, she still seems like the reluctant hero. The responsibility of it may be too much for her. I can also see Emma is still stuck in the past, her wounds have not fully healed or else she wouldn't have snapped at her mother.

      Nikka Rose honestly I never really understood the show moral logic that if you do something even if it's necessary you are automatically dark and a villain. Lily is what changed her, becoming a mother she found love With her child, and stopped caring about the world and everyone else in it.
      Which is kind of weird because I feel like if I had a child I would have to protect it against the world and all the evil in it, but I guess if you have power like Maleficent David and snow shouldn’t have been able to succeed... but then again Maleficent did just give birth and is still vulnerable and recovering.

      Because their actions resulted in the cost of someone else’s entire childhood. Because of Snow and Charming’s upmost selfishness and stupidity, they FORCED another child to be an orphan. To grow up alone. Nobody knows what that’s like better than Emma. Furthermore, she’s angry towards snow because she’s already stated “and that light right there is EXACTLY why it was worth it.” And Charming agreed. They never showed any remorse or regret towards their actions because the truth is they don’t regret it. They don’t regret taking a child away from their mother, forcing it to grow up alone just because they were selfish and don’t think things through. I love snow sometimes, but her biggest fault is she doesn’t think.
      Her actions never effect her. She ever pays much consequences for them, but everyone else around her has to bare the consequences and pay them. When Daniel died, Regina had to pay them. Yes she was 10 so I don’t hold that against her. However, she was an adult when she made this decision to force another child to grow up alone. Their issues are, they contradict themselves. They tell those around them to make the right decisions, tell those around them not to be stupid and always be the hero’s, when in reality they were hypocrites and keeping the darkest issues they’ve committed inside because they don’t think about their actions. So Emma was angry at them for not thinking and making others pay the consequences for it.

      @@HereMays I don’t mean this to come across rude at all; but that’s not at all the reason, they were guilty yes. Filled with guilt over their completely selfish actions. But they didn’t: and I will stand by this show ANY remorse or regret UNTIL late season 4 when they slowly realised how stupid and careless they were. There’s a number of scenes that prove this. The moment Mal enters the Cafe, where she explains that her daughter is alive, they’re in shock but don’t at all apologise, in fact Snow looks almost annoyed? Well not annoyed but I can’t think of the correct word. Then of course the scene just before Regina enters the apartment, the scene where Emma is angry and frustrated with her parents about the ideology of them RUINING an innocent child’s life, and how she would NEVER do that. To which snows response of course is “that’s why it was worth it.” word for word may I add. Do they EVENTUALLY regret it, yes I am sure. Do they show remorse EVENTUALLY yes. But do they regret or feel remorse at the beginning, no not UNTIL the end of season 4. They feel guilt. Not regret.

    • @lyrisavst
      @lyrisavst 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HereMays Again, that was prior to after they saw how “ good” and “pure”, in so called words their daughter Emma was. But after they realised the good within her, the good they’d TAKEN away from Mal’s daughter, they still believed it was worth it. They didn’t regret it AFTERWARDS for a decent amount of time in Season 4, my point is; IN season 4 ( modern times), they showed NO signs of remorse or regret, until they realised the damaged they caused. Did they regret it at FIRST, mmm, evidentially from that video, thank you by the way, because now it’s more evident that they DID regret at first, but when we hit how they see their daughter that they feel guilt at FIRST in modern season 4, not regret. I don’t deny the regret initially when they first sent her away, nor their progression towards releasing , and regret and remorse. However, in modern S4, they didn’t. And worse case scenario, it doesn’t justify what they did. Not that i’m saying you said that by the way! I just mean overall.

You should not get into a relationship with a creep thinking he'll change for you, that just does not happen. And you can trust someone who cursed everyone for their own gain and a pirate who treated women as objects over your own parents. Emma going dark, all Snow and Charming's fault, no matter what they do on this show they are damned if they do and damned if they don't. Think about the messages you're sending out writers. Parents are blamed for everything in this world. Yes I'm sure there are some bad parents out there, but the majority of parents love their children and do their best with them that they know how.

      I am pretty sure most parents who not do what Snow and David did to Emma, Lily and Maleficent, cause if you think about it thats altering destiny. Also Snow and Charming grew up sheltered in their childhood and probably never had a situation to make them think that not everything is black and white.
