I grew up going to a German-Lutheran church in the midwest. It was a little different. The service was fifty-five minutes long. Our massive pipe organ with 2,300 pipes could only play 2 songs (A Mighty Fortress and Onward Christian Soldiers) and only one verse. We left the cars running in the winter so they would still be warm when we got out. And every family took advantage of the "designated hitter rule". We had home communion kits and direct deposit tithing.

Yes. My dad Rev. Dr. Dudley Chatman was the pastor for 33 years. I sang in the choir and helped in youth ministry and Multi Media and Drama
