Mandy actually thinking like Karl now with the flea. Happens to all of us
She's in too deep now
@@RockLou that was in too deep. your in too deep if your listenting now, this is XFM 104.9
It's too good to be true that she guessed it to be a flea. Mandy is becoming an orange
The Karl brainrot has set in, she's beyond help at this point.
HAHAHA! 🍊
I love how it took Karl an hour to come up with a flea and you did it in 0.2 seconds.
I am like his slightly smarter twin sister, lol 🤪🤣
There's a shadow somewhere
I think he might be the first person to ever utter those words
🤣🤣🤣🤣
The Mayor gets involved
@@tristanlee8912mayor looks like we got a problem seems like a shadow
As time goes by, Rockbusters clues will deteriorate into bizarre, convoluted genius that can only come from the mind of Karl.
Karl: "A Jamaican fella..."
Ricky: "Oh christ"
We’re never doing this again 😂

It really does make all the difference when you're watching these with someone you actually enjoy watching reacting to the thing you love. There are plenty of people who react to these on here, but it's rare you actually get someone you kind of click with. I've always said watching these is like showing a mate something you love and watching their reaction. You feel like you're going on a journey with that person, but also a journey all over again for yourself, like you're watching it for the first time again. Of course this is even better when you haven't actually seen the thing they're reacting to. I love these though, you feel like you're a bunch of friends having a laugh with each other. These are the best kinds of things to watch reactions to without a doubt, especially when it's someone who you enjoy watching it with! 🙂
This comment makes my heart so happy! Thank you so very much!! 🥹🤗🩵
@@MandyCaneLane You're more than welcome! ☺
HMV = his masters voice, dog was being played audio of his owner
Ahh ok, cool. Thank you 🙌🏻✨️
Yeah my grandfather (born in the 1920s) had an old record player with that logo, and "His Master's Voice" written on it - they used to use the full title before they abbreviated it.
Thanks, I had no idea about that either
"it was pushing people off their bikes" is one of my personal favourite Karl quotes
Hahahha, shirt worthy I would say 🤣🤣
@@MandyCaneLane Don't tempt meeee. :)
@@MandyCaneLane for sure hahaha!!
Agree! Top tier
I saw a dyslexic Yorkshire man the other day, he was wearing a cat flap.
1:10:10 Ricky was modeling his question after the premise of the show Quantum Leap, and in that show the protagonist didn't just travel through time as himself, he temporarily inhabited the body of a person who lived during that period.
Great show
Ohhhhh, ok! Thank you for explaining! 🤗
Episode 8 is when they finally found their feet. Everything afterwards just got better.
Yeah, last episode they realised Karl has so much to say, Karl becomes the main attraction from now (even when he's on holiday).
The Karl Pilkington Show 😎
@@MandyCaneLane with ricky gervais and stephen merchant. play a record
..."he picked him up, and put him in a wheelie bin!" 🚮🗑🙋♂️
Is he in jail? 🤣
Forest gump?
I think the third educating ricky "If only it was raining" might actually be lost.
yeah, we'll never know what that one was :( EP10 has an iconic one though.... can't wait.
Mike is a chicken who lived for 18 months without a head after escaping the fate of becoming dinner. It all started with the Olsen family, who were farmers living in Fruita, Colorado in September of 1945.
Poor Mike 😥
XFM Fridays are one of the highlights of my week. It's impossible to be in a bad mood while watching, Karl's comedy and Mandy's energy together always lifts me up.
Also from last episode onwards, the Karl lore just gets deeper and deeper. The kid in a bin story is another classic Karl moment that gets referenced later in the show. We told you that episode 8 is where Karl becomes the main event and it stays that way now, it's the Karl show and Ricky/Steve just turn up to listen to his stories and thoughts.
I am so glad you are enjoying!! Making reactions to this show brings me such joy! Love how much attention Karl gets 🤣🤣
Did that just go out?
🤣🤣🤣
As was said before, Ricky will not believe anything unless it's scientific in his mind and verified...I was always with Karl on the tomato/ lead story.
But it totally made sense! 😅
As always with Karl the headline is true but he's made up the rest of the story using Karl logic. Tomatoes will dissolve lead and if your plates are made of that you will get lead poisoning. But there wasn't a time when everybody were using lead plates. That was the fancy dinner plates with lead paint for decoration.
You'll be surprised if you google some of his outrageous claims how many of them have some truth to them. Nearly all. But he NEVER actually reads the story. Just the headline. Then his mind runs wild with it.
It's probably one of the few where I'm actually with Karl. Though Ricky's problem with it isn't that it's wrong it's that he doesn't think it's education.
But he said lead plates not pewter. If he had said that it might be different.
A shadow in America pushing people off their bikes 😭 Can you verify this Mandy?
Haha, sorry, haven't been in the states in a while and I have never been to "Boston or somewhere like that" 😅
@@MandyCaneLanehaha got ya! Surely it became a big story after the mayor got involved 🤭
Ah the debut of Stephen Merchant’s long and fruitful relationship with the word “Arbitrary”. He loves that word lol
Hahaha, in his defense a well timed "arbitrary" can be hilarious 🤣🤣
One of his many stock phrases. ‘I’m gonna shoot off’ is another that springs to mind.
First you guessed the flea like Karl, then you asked something Karl would ask; which side of Deadpool would heal if you split him down the middle.
What’s tomato with you? 😂
Haha!
Haha! It is all part of my evolution 🤪
@@MandyCaneLane Explain... evolution. :)
Love these Mandy, thanks for sharing your reactions with us! Hope you are well 🩵
Thank you! I am great and so happy so many wonderful humans such as yourself enjoy these! 🤗🌈🌻
The origin of the shadow story is actually the Argentinian folklore of El Petizo, an apparition that supposedly stalks the roads and thoroughfares of a rural area near Rosario de la Frontera (which, to be fair to Karl, does sound similar to Boston).
In 2002, one of El Petizo's victims claimed it pushed him from his bike whilst he was traveling alone on a quiet road. He then shot at it with a shotgun, and, when that failed, tried to stab it with a knife.
Didn't the shadow eventually take up boxing, hence the term? :)
Hahahhaa, you made me laugh! I can totally hear Boston when I say Rosario de la Frontera 🤣🤣🤣
I was so happy when you said flea
😅🤣
Once again Karl says something in gobbledegook that turns out to be true.
Ages ago, tomatoes would react with pewter plates and become toxic, leading to widespread illness. Tomatoes were a new import, and are more acidic than other fruit so these effects were assumed to be because tomatoes were poisonous.
But Karl said LEAD plates and derailed the whole story.
In the TV series Quantum Leap, Sam Becket would leap through time but appear as different people, not as himself, that's why the question was asked in that way.
Ohhhh, ok. Did not know that, thank you!! 🙌🏻✨️
Drinking wine, eating cheese and watching TV, sounds really good
Ahh yes, the Ricky lifestyle 🤣
I hate running out of these XFM reactions - they're too good 😄 Thanks Mandy and Rusty!! ❤
The hmv logo is like that because HMV stands for his masters voice, I think the guy was one of the first people to put audio on a record thingy
Ahh ok. Cool stuff, thank you!
This is the best of the reactions yet!! Obviously it’s a great episode but your reactions to it are amazing!! I can’t believe you got flea before Karl said it 😂
Thank you so very much!! 🥹🤗🩵
We need more Ricky hungover and tha.
🤣🤣
The DVDs won't be for watching 😅 they are for selling. A friend of the family used to live near a bunch of junkies and thieves and they were forever knocking on his door selling random stuff theyd stole from supermarkets like big jars of instant coffee or booze
Yeah, I worked that one out in the end 🤣🤣🤣
It would be illegal to buy them...but are they slightly discounted to make it worth the risk?
Or selling them in the pub🤣 there's a skag head in my local who sells massive Cadbury and galaxy bars for a quid and an Asda extra special steak for 3 quid🤣
Watching the XFM shows 1 by 1 each week was the best decision you ever made. For me.
2 a week wouldn’t kill anyone 👀😂
Hahaha 🤣🤣
Karl saying "has this all just gone out on air" (or worksy to that effect) always makes me laugh.
Hi Mandy
Ricky & Steve were originally signed by XFM but they were fired & made unemployed, they both went on to sell a script 'the office' which was denied by all the TV companies but was picked up by the BBC but they didn't want to take responsibility so gave the money rights to Ricky who wrote, produced it with Stephens help. Ricky always helps his friends & wants the best for them which I love about him 👌
So this show was just after the office & XFM rehired Ricky & Steve & they met Karl as their producer & Ricky as a top friend made it his mission to help Karl in life & introduce him to us.
At this point all three were not famous & just having fun on the radio which led to the XFM show 👍
Great reaction, i listened these podcast 10 times, all series. Amazing! ☺️👍
Thank you very much!! 🤗🌻
Talking about the tomato fact when he says many years ago 😂 he's only talking about the fucking roman empire 😂
Hahaha, that was many years ago though 🤪
FYI In Rainbows by Radiohead doesn’t have a part 2. There is a disk 2 that is essentially a handful of b-sides that was released as part of the special edition disk box. The 10-track album is the album.
Poe-tay-toe / Poh-tah-toh 🤪🤣
Karl's biggest weakness when he tells facts, like the tomato one, is that he never writes down things like dates or places, so he always sounds like he's trying to remember it all on the fly (which is probably true).
I even knew that the tomato story was true before I listened to this episode and I was more frustrated at Karl than Ricky and Steve, since I knew it was right, but Karl can't articulate it accurately and, since he doesn't know the details well enough, tries to make up the story and thus makes his less credible.
What is hilarious is that him being that way decided to make a feature about educating Ricky of all people 🤣🤣🤣
The sign on the music store represents "His Masters Voice", whixh HMV meant.
I mean, it wouldn't be much of a comedy show if they didn't take issue with what Karl said. Him telling some facts and them going "ah all right" wouldn't be that fun :P
Haha, fair point 🤣
the Fortean times is a magazine over here about the supernatural and UFOs ect. haha
Knowing what was coming when you guessed a flea was *chef's kiss*!
🤣🤣🤣
I always heard about the cutting worms in half thing, too. And so, my six, seven, eight year old self would occasionally cut a worm in half, in my yard, when I saw one. Most of them, I let go. But when the cutting in half came to mind, I did it. And then I would watch the two halves crawl away from each other, and I would believe that they both survived, like people said / thought.
I'm guessing many people also don't know that there is more than one part to America's national anthem.
Mandy: "Me and him are NSync." 😄
Was travelling yesterday but now i get to enjoy this on a lazy Saturday.
Kid in a bin is one of my absolute favourite 3 Karl moments, you still have the other 2 favourite stories in the future on XFM.😂😂😂
Awesome Jon! Love how he got mad at telling the story! 🤣🤣🤣
1:12:34 TOO CUTE (In Mandy’s voice!) 😩💖
When Mandy said Flee and I was like "She's fully synced to the mind of Karl" 😂
I couldn't believe it! 🤣🤣
I wait to the evening as I like to do my house chores before the weekend (unless I'm out on Friday) and I play this on the speakers. Makes my evening 😂🤙
So glad you enjoy!! 🤗🌻
I look forward to my karl pilkington Friday fix
🙌🏻✨️
Dear Mandy, the shadow is actually from Salta Argentina and is called el petizo. Bit weird innit.

You are in the right place then! 🩵🤗
Flea! Not only did you just do that, you just did that… immediately!
Hahaha, I have been blessed by the orange headed gods! 🤣🤣🤣
When you mind is in sync with Karl, it is time to book an appointment with the doctor. It is a short step from there to washing up without your thumbs and your trousers down.
Its funny, when you were saying "i think it was these three who was talking about the chicken who lived without a head"
And my first thought was "of course it was it was these three" 😂 who else haha
Hahaha! Touché 🤣🤣
In regards to In Rainbows Part 2, I always regarded it as a B-Sides collection, rather than an equal companion to the main album. :)
I've just sat in the park here in England, wondering when the weekly Mandy & Karl upload is coming and here it is! I'm now going to listen on this park bench
Hope you had a lovely time at the park! 🤗
Mandy's Out-of-Context Quote of the Video: "I have in my brain, I don't know why, the image of a headless chicken!"
🤣🤣 These are fun because I don't even remember saying some of them 🤣
@@MandyCaneLane I can't remember why you said it now either. You do come out with some funny stuff though 😆
Karl is right about the lead plates! Tomatoes are acidic and it is possible to get lead poisoning from cutting tomatoes as the juice would dissolve the lead!
That s weird, cause they talk about the chicken without a head in ep 13, yet you say you ve heard it already
Is it possible they mentioned this or something similar in a previous episode as well? I can't recall which one or the full context, but Rusty included a photo of the headless chicken in one of the previous videos. Mandy also mentioned she remembers that photo from one of the previous episodes, so they must have said something about it?
Don't ask me, I have the memory of a flea!
@@MandyCaneLane If you were a flea, wouldn't you hide in a specially made bag?
(Fleabag reference) :)

Ages ago...
I've never seen that logo for hmv before. Not sure where he got it from.
I listened to these so long ago. I had a chunky mp3 player and I loaded them all on. I always wished I could share them with someone, it’s been so much fun watching you react to these.
Your MP3 player wasn't an iRiver was it? Mine was :)
@@CMDRRustyDog haha, I had a few over the years. I think I did have an iriver at one point. Also a creative zen. Big chunky thing. Put a dent in the wall once when it fell out of bed.
That makes me so happy! I love watching and sharing these with you guys! 🩵
Kate Bush's Babooshka was about a woman writing to her husband pretending to be an admirer not in the flesh I think. She did it to catch her husband out but because she was playing herself when she was young, beautiful and fun, she was the woman he fell in love with all those years ago so in the end she played herself.
Congratulations, you were presented with the choice of every animal on Earth and you chose the same as Karl Pilkington.
HAHAHHAHHA, I feel so honoured to share thoughts with this man 🥹🤣
Why did the show need to finish early? I wish to know.
Well done Rusty for helping with the Sarah Connor reference 👏
And Mandy your "what an idiot" comment surprised me considering some of the things you've said on your channel 🫢
Perfect timing with Sarah Connor eh? Sometimes we are on that same frequency, like with 'Dido isn't that good looking' reference from a previous ep.
Lou Reed is unreal 😂😂
Basil's hover hand at the start - on his own wife. I've not noticed that before.😄It perfectly sums up their relationship though.🤭
LMAO!! 🤣🤣
That's hilarious that you went with flea before Karl mentioned it.
I feel so in tune with him! 🤣🤣
I feel like we've heard all of this on the Ricky Gervais Show.
Not sure about all of it, but there are some overlaps for sure 😅
Always thought that Karl was trolling Ricky with the shadow story
I love how in tune (n sync?) you are with these XFM episodes. You've really got into the whole experience and it's just great!
HMV was founded in 1921 and the logo is the original one of the dog sat next to a gramophone listening to the voice of his master.
I had a spooky feeling you were going to say flea! I dunno why. So when you did, it blew my mind, haha.
But then... even spookier... the scissors! What cosmic link made that happen? I've never seen your scissors before. And then the Sarah Connor moment where I had you covered (I was begging you to press play, haha).
The rainbow and flowers images were simply to avoid showing a tick and a leech :) So I replaced it with nice things, hehe. No connection at all :) Sorry if it was a little random :)
I was going to suggest naming the episode 'What's Tomato With You?' because it's a part of XFM that people remember.
But you were n sync with me on that one anyway so I didn't have to suggest it. Awesome!
Educating Ricky and Rockbusters logo's all created in AI. The little kitten picture, has a hat one that says 'Mandy' but it's not easy to see.
Glad you enjoyed it. EP10... bring it on.
Don't apologise, your work on these is pure brilliance down to all the little details! Thank you for even taking the time to tailor these to my issues! 🤣🩵
@@MandyCaneLane Aw thanks Mandy. :)
Did you notice on the Educating Ricky subjects and the Rockbusters clues, how the text revealed in time with Karl reading them out? I like to be precise so you don't read it before Karl says it :) I'm such a stickler for these things.
@@CMDRRustyDog I noticed that everything is done with such purpose! Really awesome work! 🩵
The piggy when Ricky snorted was excellent! 🐷🤣
In Rainbows😍such a special album
15:16 Actually, they will still get paid for those DVDs. The shop they were stolen from has already bought them from the distributor. Everyone upstream of the retailer has had their cut already by that point. And if they are stolen, the retailer will still have to buy more. They are the only ones that lose out.
Yes, it's a crime, and it's one of the reason retailers go bust, but it doesn't hurt Ricky and Steve. Piracy is a different matter however.
Makes perfect sense! 🤗🤭✨️
I'm impressed Mandy with the flea prediction, you and Karl were definitely seperated at birth 😂
Hahaha! It's funny because in Argentina soulmates are called "half oranges" as in together they are whole. He must be my long lost whole orange 🤣🤣🍊
@@MandyCaneLane 😂😂 well I'm ginger so like Karl I've been called orange, just not quite "as round as a f@#@ing orange" 😂
@@MandyCaneLane LOL! Orange hair (sorta) and head like an orange.
57:25 im with Karl, surly you could distinguish your wife by her Eyes, scent, walking style, voice, hands, and of clothes come off and you still can't tell you must be like that guy in the wheelie bin
.. 59:12 nice one thought you'd have learnt not so drink while they are talking
You haven't got to it yet, but i feel like your reaction to rockbusters each time is going to be the same as Mark has in peep show trying to guess the bands from the hat.

Listening to this one from an Argentinian restaurant so I can glug a Quilmes during it 🍻
Incredible episode eh 😂
Haha, that is awesome! Quilmes in Argy is the cheapest beer and most Argentinians don't like it much. 🤭 There is one called Patagonia that I am not sure if it is Argentinian or not, but it is much more popular. (Just teaching what I can since you always teach me stuff) 🤗🩵
@@MandyCaneLane6835 pesos per small bottle here in Switzerland hehe. I'll keep an eye out for "Patagonia" beer, there's a world beer shop in town which has hundreds of beers.. so might be able to find it 🍺Got to try some Argentine style "pudín de pan" for pudding too.. which I guess is bread pudding (with cream and berries) 😂(steak with chimichurri was main course)

@@Wagoo ohhh, if you are looking for good Argentinian drinks that are quite popular, you should try finding Fernet! It is supposed to be mixed with Coca Cola and yes, it is alcoholic. An Argy interviewer recently got Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds to try it and they loved it! 🤭

I am shocked too! 🤣🤣🤣
I'm sorry, I feel so pedantic today. But the hanging bacon thing is different from what's tomato with you because the first doesn't need anything else to make it true. The second needs everyone to always eat tomatoes from a lead plate.
The first one needs snobby people to want to flaunt their wealth 🤪🤣
@@MandyCaneLane oh well that's a constant throughout human history, one man's bacon is another man's Rolex.
