Thank you so much for this video, my dad has replace his for years but didn’t know how to fix it. Now that I own a fridge with the same ice maker, I’m able to manage it!
@4:40, What an explanation that is superb. Showing the functionality of how the cycle gears operate. Wow, I'm impressed. Still need to order the ice maker but I've never seen it explained in such detail from any TH-cam Video. Thank you so much for the upload. 💯
check the seal on your freezer door, make sure seal flap is not folded in on itself, mine was folded in on bottom and inside edges letting heat in. my freezer temp was set to 0 but was going up to 26F. used a little super glue now the temp dropped down to about 14F, ice make started making ice after about 1 day.
That's an amazing step-by-step explanation...great job! I replaced the water filter, which allowed me to start getting ice water back, but the ice maker isn't making ice. I already verified no water is coming through the green water inlet hose linked to the ice-maker. That could be the problem here. Do you have a link to a video on how to address the water inlet for the icemaker behind the fridge? Please link it here thanks!🙏🙏
Thanks, I am Glad the Video was Helpful in a Way. At the Moment, We do Not have a Video on Replacing a Water Valve on Frigidaire Refrigerator, But We do Have This Water Valve Replacement on a Maytag Refrigerator, Which the Process is Somewhat Similar. I hope this Helps! 👍🏻 th-cam.com/video/1vWrTfZyE20/w-d-xo.html
I installed a new icemaker and this is exactly what is happening! Of course, my husband took about a month after the purchase before he installed it, and another 2 months trying to figure out why it was not working, so now I can't return it!
Hello so How would I know if the filter housing needs replaced does something look broke? My water filter is only about 3 months old and just stopped making ice and water at all. Thanks
Hello! What could be the issue if my ice maker is not moving the gears at all? I have tried putting it into service mode and tried moving the arm to the upright position, like in your video...nothing is making it move automatically.
Step #1: Ice Maker needs to be at 0 degrees to make Ice. Step 2 Would be to check the Wiring Connection and check that it is fine. Step 3, If Everything in the freezer is Solid Ice, and the wire connection is Fine, You will need a New Ice Maker. Also, Keep in Mind that sometimes You need to Press the Light Switch to Reset the Ice Maker.
Thank you! It isn't 1 or 2, so must be a bad ice maker. I just purchased one and it will be here tomorrow. In the meantime, how can I check if the water is working to my ice maker? To note: the water tube to the ice maker does not seem frozen.@@DIYRepairsNow
You can put on power straight to the water valve if you don’t have a way to do that you can also rotate the gears all the way around slowly to see if it will bring water at one point
@@LayneSteighlee I don’t think so because you said that the gear wasn’t rotating if the gear is rotating, you have a problem with filter housing, filter, or water valve but if the gear is not rotating, you need a new icemaker
Did you figure out how to fix the problem or what the problem is? Mine is doing the same thing. Making and dispensing ice with any issues but water stopped working. It was working absolutely fine no issues ever and just stopped. I bought a new filter but still same issue. Plenty of ice but now water? Any help will be greatly appreciated because I have no idea what to do and I miss my water ☹️
@@lindseythomason4509yes my water line was frozen. Even though I thought there was no way it was. Just to be sure I took everything out of the freezer, turned the unit off, and used a hair dryer on the door for a while. Eventually the water started working again.
Thanks friend, helps to survive this inflation when guys like you take time and effort to show the rest of us how to fix our stuff

So what do you recommend if there is no water flow or ice being made? Is it the same solution? How do you determine if the filter housing is bad?
Watch the previous video and this whole video it shows both. I know this is 10 months old.but I’m sure someone else will ask the exact same question.
Thanks so much ! I did what you showed and now my icemaker works !
That's Great to Hear! Thanks for the Support!
Thank you, sir. I appreciate your efforts to teach us all so we can save money trying to do it ourselves.

What if it makes ice, but does not release it through the dispenser? When I put my cup under for ice the ice won't come down when I push the lever.
Do you have to turn of the water to the refrigerator when replacing the filter?
No, It is Not Necessary to Turn off The Water to the Refrigerator when changing out the filter
So this refrigerator will not dispense water without a filter then?
I need to have a water filter or a bypass device which is the device that goes where the filter it’s and allows the water to flow without a filter
GE WR02X11705 Cap Filter Bypass for Refrigerator a.co/d/cUPouZw
Mine makes ice but won't drop it into the dispenser. Fully formed ice is just sitting in the trey ready to drop but won't.
