I grew up here lived two streets down My daughter has a picture of me in 1963 sitting on the Bank wall at K & A in my easter suite when I was 10 years old back then there were two movie theaters Midway and Iris Horn & Hardarks white tower hamburger and every store you could imagine Cops on foot patrol walking the avenue hundreds of old guys on the Bank wall hanging out and the K&A gang on other side of Kensington Ave and me at the pinball joint Does it surprise me no the city created this safe space for druggies 30 years ago Be hard for anyone to imagine what K&A looked like in its Hay days hundreds and hundreds of people hanging out on Saturday night with no shooting 😛

I KNOW, i was a huge binge partier for 25 years (but I could afford cheap hotel rooms in TJ redlight district, and could maintain a job, until I retired early at 58). Apparently, the last time I boozed/smoked was at tax time last year. I'm 65 now, and fully retired, and have a good life in San Diego East County foothills, but my tax situation is always stressful; anyway, I've finally addressed my innermost fears (mainly, fear of being alone), and now know any alcohol or drug use, for me, is a lack of respect for myself, and for life itself. It has become "effortless" for me to no longer use, now.

BS.... he needs to go to rehab and stay, not just do de-tox so he can come out and get a better high.
