Great review of a fantastic camera. The fact you’ve had yours for 30 years just shows how reliable and well built this camera is. I got mine ‘as new’ in 2011, so it must have been around for some time before that! It’s terrific.
Fantastic review mate - I've just ordered an FE2 for myself, coming from Japan to myself here in Australia. Now I know a little more about what I have to look forward to. Thanks a bunch!
I would, for two main reasons: 1) the needle match meter makes learning the shutter speed / aperture dance really easy, and 2) Aperture priority mode is a good way to get great pictures quick. Other reasons include all the things I mentioned in the review: solid metal construction, amazing flash system, depth of field preview, etc. Thanks for watching my video!!
You are a Very Clever Yank Mate !! How ever do you put those little moving 'circles' around the Controls ! I am using NIKON at the moment -- I bought a FE2 body off a Camera Club member years ago purely as it could synch with flash at 1/250th , very useful for fill-in in brighter light when the best i had was my ME Super Pentax at 1/125th . Now I am retired from 'Pro' work and do only 'Amateur Photography' Greetings from England -- God Save The Queen and England Soccer team !
Thanks for the compliment Peter, and for watching my video. The FE2 is definitely one of my favorite cameras. The circles were done with transparent background images saved as tif format then pasted in using picture in picture using iMovie. Thanks again!
Hi I'm from Ireland and at 72 years of age I still love film photography, even though I have a canon 5D mark iii. I recently purchased a Nikon FE2 Camera but have no lens for it, my question is what lens should I get for everyday photography for the camera, many thanks, Kind regards Martin
I have a question if I have a minolta md mount lens, and want to use it on this camera, I know adapters exist, but will still be usable in aperture priortiy?
Unfortunately, I haven't tried any adapters. You might email the adaptor manufacturer (if they still exist). Good luck, and thanks for watching my video!!

Thanks Carlos! I love my FE2!!

Thanks for watching my video Hamish!! Glad you liked it. I love my FE2. I'm sure you will too.
Great review
Thanks!
Great review!
Thanks Calvin! I appreciate that.
@@mdavis472000 I am also a Nikon FE2 user. Really nice camera.
At the time. Fe and fg is the sweet spot for casual shooter. But right now, i prefer fg for its dirt cheapness and fm2n for its timelessness
Great review! Would you say it is a good camera for beginners?

Either a 35mm, or a 50mm would be my choice. 35mm would be better suited for landscapes, 50mm for people shots.

Thanks for the advice very much appreciated, regards Martin
